Richard Kuklinski was not your average serial killer, he was hired as a hitman and eventually killed about 200 people in a 30 year time period. Many think his early life was the reason he grew up to be such a violent criminal. He grew up in a Catholic home but had very abusive parents. Both of his parents would brutally beat him and his siblings for absolutely no reason. Kuklinski’s brother reportedly died from such a brutal beating by his father. His father eventually left the family. Kuklinski started his criminal activity by killing animals such as cats. Normal serial killers tend to kill for their own pleasure and pick their own victims. He gained the mob's attention at the age of 18 and they hired him as a hitman because of his way he disposed of the victims. Hitmen are hired to kill by someone and have a select target. Someone would usually hire a hitman to kill someone without having to actually do the task and risk getting caught doing so. He was paid to kill and made a living off of this and soon became rich. He soon made killing his job unlike other serial killers who have a purpose for it and get some type of rush or feeling out of doing so.The Gambino Crime family hired him as a hitman and would kill anyone they asked him too.They were impressed by him because he shot a random man walking down the road in the back of the head. Not only would he kill random people, but he also killed some of his closest friends and even his co-workers. He would even kill for no apparent reason sometimes, if someone looked at him the wrong way he would not hesitate to kill them. He felt no remorse when killing these victims.
