One of the most important systems in the body, keeping it alive, is the cardiovascular system. As a part of the circulatory system, the cardiovascular system pumps blood throughout the body through a network of many arteries and veins, providing it with nutrients and oxygen. Also, the cardiovascular fights infections and disease in the body and creates blood cells. Never the less, blood acts as a filtration system for the body and removes waste, cell debris, or bacteria from the bloodstream.
As blood travels through the circulatory system, it is first pumped from the right side of the heart to the lungs through the pulmonary arteries and then separates into arterioles which split into capillaries. Here, the deoxygenated blood receives oxygen diffused in the lungs due to large surface area and travel back through venules and then pulmonary veins to the left side of the heart. From here, the oxygen rich blood is pumped throughout the body in arteries, arterioles, and capillaries, providing the body and cells with nutrients through osmosis. Afterwards, the now deoxygenated blood travels back to the right side of the heart containing deoxygenated blood, through venules and vein to repeat the cycle over again. Also, the heart is nourished by coronary circulation through the Right and Left Main Coronary Arteries.
The body's blood consists of many components, red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and platelets. Red blood cells deliver oxygen to your body and remove waste. Without them, your body would slowly die. They contain a protein chemical called hemoglobin, which gives it it’s red color. The circulatory system and respiratory system share a highly important relationship that is crucial to maintaining the life of an organism. In order for bodily processes to be performed, energy to be created, and homeostasis to be maintained, the exchange of oxygen from the external environment to the intracellular environment is performed by the relationship of these two systems. The Hematologic System is regarded as the body’s system that regulates the movement of nutrients, molecules (macro and micro molecules), and oxygen to tissues and metabolic waste products and carbon dioxide out of the tissues (Colbert, 2009). The overall role of the hematologic system is to deliver substances needed for cellular metabolism, temperature regulation, defend the body from injury and microbial infections, and maintain the homeostatic balance or acid-base chemistry of the blood and fluid-electrolyte balance. The Hematologic System is principally made up of the blood, blood vessels, and primary organs that manufacture blood cells such as the bone marrow, spleen, lymph nodes, liver, and thymus gland (Ignatavicius & Workman, 2009). Blood is made up of three distinct components: red blood cells, white blood cells, and plasma, and its role is to transport necessary substances for metabolism (nutrients, hormones and oxygen) to cells and to remove metabolic waste products and carbon dioxide, regulation of body temperature and fluid balance, and protect the body from infections. Blood vessels simply aid the transportation of blood throughout the body, simply in and out of the heart. Spleen on its part is the largest lymphatic organ and functions as the blood filtration system and reservoir, site for fetal hematopoiesis, and mounts immune responses that act against invading infections. Bone marrow is another important component of the hematologic system, and its role is to synthesize new blood cells (Red blood cells white blood cells, and platelets) that constitute a healthy blood count while the liver functions by detoxifying the blood (Colbert, 2009).

Heart attacks, heart failure, and abnormal heart beat is a serious issue for the cardiovascular system these can sometimes lead to death. These diseases affect the heart and its functions (Heart and Cardiovascular disease 2005).
