King Nebuchadnezzar’s seventeenth year of reign of the Assyrians, made war with King Arphaxad, who ruled the Medes. King Nebuchadnezzar had many nations join forces with him. King Nebuchadnezzar and his forces defeated Arphaxad and his army that summer. Nebuchadnezzar and his men took over Arphaxad’s cities and towers and turned the city into shame. Then King Nebuchadnezzar struck Arphaxad with spears and destroyed him.
King Nebuchadnezzar had ordered the people in the west country of Palestine, Syria, and Egypt to join forces with him but they had denied him. They saw no threat because he was only one man. This angered King Nebuchadnezzar because he had ordered them and they did not obey his commands. King Nebuchadnezzar then called his chief general, Holofernes, to gather 120,000 foot soldiers and 12,000 cavalry, and to destroy everyone who did not obey his commands.
General Holofernes gathered all of his soldiers and headed out to the west. He attacked and robbed everyone who had disobeyed his master and captured their territories, killing anyone who got in his way. Burning all the fields and destroying all the young males, Holofernes demolished all the gods of the land. Now the nations could worship only King Nebuchadnezzar as god.
The people of Israel heard of Holofernes destruction of the west nations and then feared him. They were worried because they just recently moved to Judea and their temple had been declared sacred after they moved. The Israelites then prepared for war and started to pray out to God. They cleansed themselves of all sins before the altar of their Lord. They prayed that God was to not give up on their people and land.
When Holofernes found out that the people of Israel had prepared for war he was an...

...her. She released her maid to be free. Judith became more and more famous as time went on. Dying at the age of one hundred and five, Judith had made it to where no one terrorized the people of Israel for a long time.
The book of Judith was defiantly an interesting story. I loved how brave and smart Judith was and that she saved a whole country. The only thing that I did not like was that as a Christian I have learned that violence is not the answer, and this was pure violence. But I have been sheltered and not realized that there is so much violence in the bible. I do agree that this does seem appropriate for the Old Testament. The Old Testament consisted of the stories and battles so it fits in very well. Life in those times was rough. You had no freedom at all and if you disobeyed someone higher than you, you could be slain. I could not have lived back then.
the grace of God and the underestimation of the enemy. Judith, whose one surviving text,
Social Workers are very important to everyday life. They are the ones that help people in need when they have nobody else to turn too. Also, they provide resources and better understanding of predicaments that you could be experiencing. I will reflect on how the class has affected me, my own experiences and how some theories have connected to my life experiences, and lastly, if the class helped toward my major. This class is important for someone that wants to become a social worker and wants to learn about the different theories used. Also, learning about me during this process of completing this class is fun and a way to see if the social work profession is right for me. There was many theories explained throughout this class but many will not be said because it wasn’t the main points that I was trying to get across. There are two tools that are used that can help a social worker organize a client’s life: Bubble map and Briefcase exercise. There are so many different ways a social worker can help a client deal with their problems and come up with a solution. It is up to that social worker to identify the client’s problem and see what theory fits.

Authors develop characters’ personalities in order to add depth to their story and allow readers to feel more connected to the characters. Beyond this, characterization also allows authors to develop the themes of their stories in a more clear manner. A prime example of this would be in the poem Judith, where the author contrasts Judith and Holofernes’ personalities in order to develop the major themes of heroism and having faith in God.

The books of I and II Thessalonians, which are in the New Testament, are both letters to a church that Paul the apostle helped establish in the city of Thessalonica. First Thessalonians is agreed by biblical scholars to be written by Paul. The author of II Thessalonians, however, is still being debated about.
Social workers deal with intense situations daily. It is important that social workers are aware of how they are affected by these interactions. Priscilla Dass-Brailsford explains in her book, that countertransference, vicarious trauma (VT), secondary traumatic stress, compassion fatigue and satisfaction, and burnout are all different ways that counselors can be affected (Dass-Brailsford, 2007). This is where it is important for social workers to have a plan of self-care and stress management resources to use.
There are many themes running through the Old Testament myth of Exodus – slavery, rescue and redemption, guidance, commandments on how to live, the creation of a nation, and God’s power over other gods. In this paper I will explore what appears to be the chief reasoning behind the creation of the Exodus myth – the explanation of the creation of a monotheistic religion and the similarities of the Exodus myth to the ancient myths, as well as how one should approach the reading of the myth.
Most of the time, though, the Huns just fought in a very random way. They would scream and run about and then all come together in a large group. They would then, as a group, approach the camp or town of the people they were attacking, and destroy it. Most of the time, the people the Huns attacked never even saw them coming. There were many ways in which the Huns chose to fight. They often s...
...Temple (this action is also noted in 2nd Chronicles). In Nehemiah, Artaxerxes allows the Jews to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls. These actions are attributed to God’s favor and reveal that God is still faithful to his people. The promises made to Abraham are still in effect, along with the Mosaic and Davidic covenants. Although the people disobeyed God and were punished, God continues to exhibit his love for Israel. From an overview of the writings of the Old Testament, the theme of God’s faithfulness is displayed.
Once God freed the Israelites, they disobey him and created a false god called the "golden calf". In Exodus 32-33, explains how God was angry with the people for worshipping other gods and upset with Aaron for creating the golden calf. The Lord provided Moses with the Ten Commandments, which the covenant with Moses and the Israel was made.
As someone involved in the field of Social Work, I am regularly challenged to assist individuals and families to cope through, work on. and deal with internal and external issues that can affect their ability to feel empowered. These factors can undermine their personal sense of well-being and their self-esteem. Therefore, it is important that I am aware of the available ways to effectively assist my client, while at the same time maintaining boundaries and professionalism.
Self-discipline is that driver, which will get you off your butt every day so that you will actually take the action, you need to take to succeed. The sooner you start down the road
These individuals have shown me that to be an effective social worker it is important to be able to integrate one’s personal and professional aspects into this profession while also remembering to practice self-care in order to avoid burnout or compassion fatigue. On page 203 of our textbook, Garthwait explains that social workers, “Must have a high level of self-awareness so they can make good choices in relation to the type of job they seek, practice self-care and stress management, and balance personal and professional responsibilities” (2014). Along with this it is important to practice cultural competence so that you are able to understand your client as a human being with their own ideas and beliefs. This was shown on a daily basis at my field placement. Those individuals who mentored me throughout the last few months never focused on the client’s weaknesses or problems, but on what abilities, talents, and resources they did
The book of Nehemiah was originally the second section of the book of Ezra. “Closely allied to the Book of Ezra, it was attached to it in the old Jewish reckoning.” In this book of the Bible, the book of Nehemiah illustrates Jerusalem’s final stage of reconstruction during the 5th century B.C. Babylonian exile period. Although, Nehemiah might have not been a man with much power, he was in fact a man of ability, courage, and action. God’s purpose for Nehemiah was to prepare him to accomplish a forceful task within the entire Bible. Nehemiah had a job and responsibility, which was to help rebuild and reestablish the walls of Jerusalem.
