Recommended: How markus zusak shows the power of words in the book thief

The book I choice for my outside reading is, “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. I chose this book because I find books that take place in a historical era, especially World War II, fascinating and entertaining. I also chose this book because I know it will challenge me with its diction and syntax.
This book will be entertaining for me because of the era this book takes place in. In the past, I have enjoyed reading books that have to do with the 1940s and especially Nazi Germany to see and learn how society was changing due to the war. I remember seeing Kate read this book her sophomore or junior year and wanting to read it because the storyline sounded very interesting and different from other books I have read in the past.
