The adventure they take on all started when the four boys overheard the news on the radio, it only caught their attention because the boy who went missing was just there age and lived in a town called Chamberlain that was only 40 miles East of Castle Rock. Then one day Vern overheard his brother Charlie and his friend talking about how seen the dead body when they went to take a piss break after fooling around in the back of the Harlow road past the cemetery. After overhearing this Vern without hesitation told his friends and got the bright idea to go search for the body himself accompanied by his 3 best friends. All that ran through his head was “if we find the body were gonna be famous and all over the papers, we're gonna be HEROS !!!” He thought it would be so cool to find a missing corpse, or so he thought…. While talking on their adventure they face many obstacles from having to tare bloodsucking leeches off each other's backs to nearly facing their own death. * Duncan, Vinny, and Wayne are all friends working - or wasting time - the summer before senior year in high school. Duncan is the soul, Vinny the brains, and Wayne the muscle. At the end of the previous summer, Duncan tried to save a drowning girl and failed. Not being a hero has really affected his life, particularly his relationship with his girlfriend Kim. Also, he is now terrified of swimming, especially when the nightmares come back. Duncan's summer job is with the public transit lost and found. While trying to make the hours go faster, Duncan looks through the items, especially the books and golf clubs. One day he discovers an unmarked journal with no name, which depicts sadistic animal torture experiments, boasts of arson fires, and the planning for the serial killings of three women. Duncan decides to make amends for his failure last summer by tracking down the owner of the journal by using clues left hidden in the diary. After talking with his friend Vinny, Duncan decides to turn the journal over to the police, but they do not take him seriously, so he decides to get help from Vinny, do some research at the local library, and find out where the killer works and lives so they can prove to the police the diary is for real. But in the process when Duncan finds the house of the serial killer, he decides to take a look in it but unfortunately at that very time the serial killer appears and chases Duncan to the subway station. They get into fight there and they both fell on the subway tracks in the station where they get hit by the train. Duncan luckily survives but the serial killer dies.
I think that Chris is a very motivated person. He knows what he wants and he is willing to do anything to get there. This quote describes when Gallien was trying to persuade Chris not to go through with his hitchhiking plan, “But he wouldn’t give an inch. He had an answer for everything I threw at him” (Krakauer 7). This quote shows the depth of his motivated character because of his unwillingness to change his mind. Additionally, I also think that Chris has a very optimistic character and outlook on life. Chris is not willing to totally accept the danger of what he is about to do because he is quick to hope for the best. Proof of this character trait can be found in the following quote, “‘I’m absolutely positive… I won’t run into anything I can’t deal with on my own’” (Krakauer 7).
The idea of belonging is primal and fundamental. It is human nature to want to belong. In Medicine River, written by Thomas King, the desire to belong is crucial to the character development of the protagonist, Will. Belonging is represented in various ways throughout the text but the changes to Will are mainly conveyed through two channels: from community and from family.
Throughout the book and these kids, journey to find the body they were all able to discover key parts in coming of age. King was able to point out key factors about how these kids were able to do so and the main points we’re that these kids despite coming from dysfunctional families and being stripped of their childhood they were able to grow up throughout the book and forgive and be able to move on from huge parts of their life. These kids have been through a lot and they were able to come face to face with these issues and be able to move forward. These are things that many people struggle with in life is being able to identify the root of their hurt and being able to move forward. Many people struggle with this and get stuck in the past. King was able to let him realize how to let down the barriers and be able to overcome these issues and be able to move

The 3 boys life is based on who just wanted simple life and get away from the corruption government who cares. The author Andy Mulligan has fitted this story to be a perfect plot to keep the reader guessing like he did me. Andy, use a twisting plot to make sure if you do anything make sure you stay ahead of the law enforcement. He, also used a unique setting of his story in such a good detail so you can image it in your head. But if you're not at a certain age some parts are disturbing to little kids. One part that scares ad disturb a lot of people is the “Prison cages” because when you a little kid you don’t see yourself in jail nor behind bars. Another thing that can have you scared is “ Police Brutally” because we supposed to look at cops are people to save us and help us. Not to hurt us and etc. And, this book is for both boys and
A young 12-year-old boy by the name of Aaron Kurlander faced many hardships when he was left to fend for himself while his family was separated from him in the 1930’s depression era in St. Louis at the Empire hotel. Aaron uses his imagination and sense of reality to survive and he never seems to let his spirits sink. While Aaron was left to fend for himself, his father seems to think he had good reasons for the families absences; Aaron’s brother Sullivan was shipped off to go live with relatives, his mother (Mrs. Kurlander) admitted to a sanitarium for tuberculosis, and his father (Mr. Eric Kurlander) who was a door-to-door sales man who sold wickless candles left town to travel for a watch

If you have children in tow, and are looking for a family-fun, delightful movie to watch, “Song of the South” is worth a viewing. Or perhaps you are a fan of the Uncle Remus tales you have read when you were little, then “Song of the South” will certainly give some justice to those fun tales.
Overall, Stephen King is trying to make a point that death is acceptable and that people should not fear it as much as they do. Death should be treated as a part of life. This story goes from self-doubt and hesitation to the acceptance of the
In Moira Young’s novel, Blood Red Road, the protagonist and narrator, Saba, is a highly dynamic character. To begin, Saba’s evolution from being remarkably dependent on her twin brother Lugh to evolving into an individual who is able to solve their own complications and be a passionate leader is an example of her being a dynamic character. In the text, Saba defines her beginning of dynamics by saying “Lugh works on the roof while I do what I always do, which is clamber up an down the ladder and hand him what he needs.” (Young 9). This quote proves how Saba relies heavily on her older brother to guide her and get her through her difficulties. Lugh completes all the tasks that she needs and she acts as a helping hand or an assist to him. After losing Lugh because of the Tonton, Saba is lost in the reality of the world outside without a
