We as a society have come a long way from all of that to what we have today. Just as some believe in the Big Bang Theory, the cosmic expansion that caused creation. We can relate this to technology. We have a Big Boom in communication technology from the time of creation all the way to today. Today, I will be sharing with you three of those items that have greatly impacted how we communicate through a much easier and time saving process. The telephone was created by Alexander Graham Bell in 1870s. All the way from 1870s to current date in 2015 we have had the telegraph transmitter, dial rotary, digital, and cell phones. Cell phones have become the top of the line form of telecommunication since the creation of the landline by Alexander Bell. There are advantages to having land lines still in this day in age. Landline service tends to be less expensive than cell phone service. The phones are less cost effective to purchase one. Land lines are not mobile and well it would be harder to contact people if that was the means of telecommunication. On the other hand, the disadvantages to having a landline is that it is not mobile, you cannot carry it around with you, you cannot check the world wide web, you cannot text recipient in a matter of minutes or seconds. Some may think the cell phone is the way to go. Conversely, the disadvantages of having a cell phone are that you have to choose a mobile phone provider that is able to provide the service with elite or exceptional reception, the services can be extremely pricey on a monthly bill, a cell phone can be easily lost and well, you would have to spend a large amount of money to buy another one. Everyone is different based on the preferences and needs. But we have choices in this busy day in age of choosing what is going to make life more convenient, what is easier, and less time
Sure cell phones make life easier. No longer do we have to call someone to convey a message, just send a text. It’s convenient to be able to call a number and have the person you're looking for pick up, kind of like a direct line. It Takes out the anxiety of wanting to call someone, but being afraid their parents or siblings, or even their significant other will pick up. Many people are getting rid of landline phones all together because everyone in the family has a cell phone. They are like a handheld person assistant. We can set alarms, set appointmen...
The most important thing when interacting with other human beings is being able to communicate one another. People’s first mechanical way of communicating was with the invention of the telegraph, which was at first run by gas. It wasn’t until 1836, when Samuel F.B Morse, Alfred Vail, and Joseph Henry invented Morse code that our civilization had would be able to electronically communicate. Soon after, the first telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell which allowed people to vocally converse electronically from miles away. The invention of the telephone was then modified and eventually converted into a mobile cellular phone by Martin Cooper in...
When cell phones were first introduced, all you could do was call others and talk for half an hour. It was like a brick and took ten hours to charge. It also cost $3995. That’s a lot more than most of today’s cell phones. Even, though it was a very basic phone, it began impacting the world. Now, you could call your relatives and actually talk with them without being next to them. Parents gave their kids cell phones to stay in touch. Now you can contact anyone through your mobile phone in multiple ways. You can text, call, facetime or message someone through social media. Cell phones abilities
From the start of the human history, information traveled as fast as a ship could sail, or a horse could run, or a person could walk. It gradually began to change. At the invention of telegraph, information could be sent quicker. So communication was anticipated, it was more of a waiting period to reach to the second person. Then the second person received the letter or telegraph, sent the answer back, which was very time-consuming. Nevertheless, communication between people face-to-face was fundamental. It was as necessary as breathing, therefore back in the days, there were a lot of gatherings, and it was characterized by simplicity, friendliness, and socialness. But the technology completely changed the daily lives of ordinary people. Now days, people are more immediate.
On March 10th, 1876, a revolutionary invention was created by Alexander Graham Bell. The telephone was invented to send vibrations from one receiver to another electrically (History.com ‘Speech Transmitted by Telephone’ accessed on March 11, 2014), and due to Alexander Graham Bell accidentally discovering that he could hear the sound of a ‘clock spring twanging’ (Marry Bellis, ‘The History of the Telephone’ accessed on March 11, 2014), that was possible. The invention of the telephone permitted new levels of communication, allowed families connect around the world, and improved military systems, but also served negative consequences, such as breached privacy. If two people wanted to have a conversation, they would have to write letters back and forth, but with the telephone they were able to pick up the receiver, dial the number, and be connected in a matter of minutes. Telephones enabled long-distance communication, which allowed families to converse despite their location. Military officials and soldiers were also able to stay in touch through field telephones as well as keep contact with the president. Although telephones were originally placed in general stores or other major city locations and homes/neighborhoods that were wired (Elon.edu ‘World Changes Due to the Telephone’ accessed on April 2, 2014), telephones became commonly used in homes in the early twentieth century when telephones began to connect internationally.
In a nutshell, here are some academically beneficial aspects of cell phones and other devices. Most modern devices are capable of remembering complex math theorems and are able to note due dates for assignments. My phone has a "Notes" application, where I conveniently store all of my assignments. So, for those of you who are arguing that there is no reason to have a phone in school, how do you think I get absolutely all of my homework assignments done on time? Another aspect that is advantageous in most cell phones are calculator applications. Rather than spending an additional $100 on a fancy Texas Instruments calculator for Trigonometry or Calculus, I am easily able to access an application on my cellphone that allows me to take advantage of all of the functions that any standard calculator is able to use.
Over the years, we see more kids having cell phones. The disadvantages of kids having cell phones are cyberbullying, sexting, poor grades, and lack of physical activity.
One advantage of having a cell phone is that its very helpful when a person needs to contact a friend or a family member (9). For example, when someone is lost in a place they have never been in. But now a days people owning a cell phone can never get lost because now phones have a map that tells you where your location is. Now a phone can also be a credit/debit card swiper for someone's business.
“We barely have time to pause and reflect these days on how far communicating through technology has progressed. Without even taking a deep breath, we’ve transitioned from email to chat to blogs to social networks and more recently to twitter” (Alan 2007). Communicating with technology has changed in many different ways. We usually “get in touch” with people through technology rather than speaking with them face to face. The most popular way people discuss things, with another individual, is through our phones. Phones have been around way before I was born in 1996, but throughout the years, they have developed a phone called a “smart phone”. The smart phone has all kinds of new things that we can use to socialize with our peers. On these new phones, we can connect with our friends or family on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Technology has also developed Skype, a place you can talk with people on the computer with instant voice and video for hours. The new communication changes have changed drastically from the new advances made in technology through our smart phones, social networking sites, and Skype.
Phones have changed over the past twenty years and have had a positive and negative effect on people. Man kind as find many ways to communicate and stay connected with each other and the most common way is by a cellphone. Phones Cellphones have become one apart of our daily lives and some people just cannot live without them. In fact people use them more like computes than an actual phone itself. Most people let their phones control their lives and if their not carful it could have some serious consequences. Phones continue to get more and more advanced as time moves forward. However, in the beginning phones had a tough time getting out to the public however, if it was not for the first step into technology we would not have the phones we have today.
Cell phones have many advantages and disadvantages to them and I only named a few, but overall I think that the benefits of the cell phones outweigh that of the disadvantages that they bring. Cell phones have become a staple in the way we live our lives and without them it would be almost impossible to live the wireless lifestyle we are using right now. Cell phones are getting more and more technologically advanced as the years pass by, and that is why cell phones are needed in the society we live in
Writing is one of the oldest forms of communication. It started back as cave drawings and has evolved into so many different forms. As technology changes, our communication strategies are changing as well. Business Communications has always been affected by the changes in our environment, but the digital age has increased the efficiency, speed, and simplicity of the way we communicate.
Communication is an interdependent process of sending, receiving, and understanding messages. The definition implies that the components of the communication process cannot be examined separately. Rather, the relationship exists between the sender and the receiver, as well as the environment of the communication event, must be viewed as a whole. According to this perspective, if any of the components and circumstances change (that is, the number of individuals involved in the interaction, seating arrangements, or the time of the day) the communication event is altered. Communication is an ongoing process; we never stop sending and receiving messages. As we will discover, communication is a dynamic process, a process that changes from one communication setting to the next. Although it is difficult to predict, the ways of interpreting communication, certain components are always present in the communication process.
People in the present society have turned from the use of the old means of communication to the more advanced and technological ways of communicating. Technology has made it easier for people to communicate in a faster, efficient, and cost saving means through the introduction of the communication channels. The world has turned out to be the centre for technology with different technologies emerging daily as the people continue to develop from time to time to cope with the growing technology. The benefits of adopting the communication technology are explained in this article which shows why people do not function without technology.
The internet helped give rise to the use of email, then it was blogs, now it 's smart phones. Soon we will have technology such as Google Glass which will allow us to take videos, pictures, research information without even having to use a keyboard or mouse(Brin, S. (2013, February 1)). We have already reached a point with technology like Apples ' Facetime which allows us to speak with one another directly, face to face so we can share our full range of emotions over vast distances. Technology will only keep getting faster, cheaper, and more effective in it 's ability to allow us to communicate with each-other from anywhere on the planet. Perhaps in the future we will find ways in which to communicate with one another and other life forms across the galaxy or even the
