According to The Prince’s Trust (2006), youth cafés are ‘safe, alcohol-free places where young people feel welcome, can meet friends, have fun and take part in a wide range of activities’. Youth café’s give young people a place they can hang out with their friends in an inclusive environment that is safe, relaxed and friendly. Youth cafés are open to both sexes from various social and cultural backgrounds. Drugs and alcohol would also be prohibited in the café. Involvement in the youth café would give the young people the chance to develop strong relationships with other young people attending the youth café and also the staff and volunteers involved. Recreational activities carried out give the young people the chance to relax and enjoy themselves while educational activities allow for the development of new skills and knowledge. The youth café is also a place where the young people can obtain information and get advice on issues they may be having in their lives; these issues may be related to ‘sexual or mental health issues, parenting skills, training and further education’ (Forkan et al, 2010).
The youth café will have a central location and be on a well-lit street in a safe area in close proximity to transport routes to ensure the safety of the young people who may need to travel to and from the youth café by bus. It will also be ensured that it is wheelchair accessible to guarantee there will be no exclusion of any young people. The youth café will involve the joint effort of staff, volunteers, local communities and young people. The opening hours of café will be Monday to Friday evenings and also Saturday afternoons (Forkan et al, 2010).
Regardless of whether a young person attends the youth café to meet with friends, relax, listen to music or to receive support and advice, their involvement in the youth café looks the same, as every young person’s reason for attending is private. Therefore, if a young person is receiving support from the youth café it will not be known to any other young people in the café or those not in attendance and thus will have no social cost to them that they may be apprehensive of and there will be no stigma attached to their attendance either. The youth cafes allow the young people to be self-sufficient; although they will be assisted by staff or volunteers they are given a high level of autonomy.
This company focuses on quality and customer satisfaction. Their need to achieve goals beyond their measures is consistently shown in every aspect of the complex. They are also trying different ways to satisfy each age group. First of all, if you’re under 21 you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian that’s 25 or older. After 10:00 p.m. no one under 21 is allowed in. This is an advantage as well as a disadvantage for this company. The advantage is that they can draw in a certain type of crowd after 10:00 p.m., then the facility pr...
Workers who work with adolescents and, especially, parents would enjoy this book since it would bring understanding and the reader could personally relate to the author. As the author evidently strives to effectively raise adults, parents likewise strive. In this endeavor, since this book provided a history of the adolescent’s culture, the current state of the adolescent’s culture, relational qualities to implement while approaching teenagers, and how to practical respond to teenagers’ issues. Overall, this is a beneficial
Even with the daily struggle faced by youth in obtaining shelter and homelessness becoming a reality for a growing number of Canadians, Canada, with its high quality of life is one country that has always had a global long-standing reputation. This paper will be working towards giving the reader a better understanding with regards to homeless youth. It will be focusing on the reasons why they leave home, their lives on the street and steps they are trying to take to be able to leave the streets. An important finding from this research suggests, “the street youth population is diverse, complex, and heterogeneous”. According to Karabanow, made up of a number of subcultures including hardcore street-entrenched young people, squatters, group home kids, child welfare kids, soft-core twinkles, runaways, throwaways, refugees and immigrants is the generic term ‘street youth’.
They offer a wide selection of breakfast foods and beverages, including great coffee, which the locals take seriously around here. The staff is friendly and there is a play area for the kids.
Strategic planning did nothing but hinder Youth Haven from making more profit, keeping investors happy, and staying on mission. It was not the best management technique for Youth Haven. Since they had a deficit of $20,000, I believe they should not have outsourced to a third-party for a fee. Because of this their funding continued to get increasingly tighter. They still had a deficit and if they can not keep their investors happy, they are going to leave too. Strategic planning should be used as a stepping stool used to evaluate company policy and mission retention. Strategic planning was not used wisely within this organization. Strategic planning is a stepping stool within an organization and should only be used as such. According to a Strategic
The youth homelessness population is increasing because of the many challenges that these children or teens face in everyday life; It also continues getting larger every year because of the many youth who are getting into dangerous situations that force them to be homeless or thru their own choosing. One third of the homeless population is between the ages of 16-24, which is incredibly young and it is the prime years for an adolescent or young adu...

...ldwide’s overall approach of creating opportunities for youth worldwide. For example, have Hilton Worldwide and IYF thoroughly analyzed how this program to improve youth well-being can possibly be seriously disfavored by the governing authorities of those countries in which these programs will be taking place? Or if the adolescent from a third-world country whom they are training has obligatory family responsibilities to uphold that do not call for involvement in the initiative? Although it seems unlikely, questions and issues like these are inevitable and will eventually surface. The key to success here for Hilton Worldwide and IYF to achieve maximum impact is simply to continue pursuing their commitment of reaching out to global youth with combined efforts and to help these young beings realize their fullest potential as engaged and productive citizens of society.
There seems to be a welcome trend unfolding in social services for the homeless. In place of large, impersonal soup kitchens, small cafes are springing up with a philosophy that is all too rare-treat the homeless with respect and dignity, and maybe they'll respond to available services.
Payson loves coffee but decided she would try two different businesses coffee. The two businesses were 392 Cafe and Starbucks. Payson loved 392 Cafe because of their coffee, bakery, smoothies, the work setting, and the workers personalities. She has not gone back to Starbucks due to her enjoyable experience at 392. The bubbly personalities marked a spot in her loving heart that no other coffee shop can compare too. She loves doing her homework there because it is so relaxing. Payson loves seeing people walk in with huge grins on their face. 392 Cafe is such a positive atmosphere. Of course the coffee is stellar. Starting out as an anti-coffee person because of terrible experiences, she loves 392’s coffee. It just has the perfect mixture. It is not too black, but not too creamy either. Although many coffee lovers will argue that Starbucks is better than 392 Cafe, further investigation proves that 392 Cafe is better according to the surrounding area testers.
“Definitions of ‘youth’ in Western societies usually refer to the life stage between childhood and adulthood, the transitional period between being dependant and becoming independent” (Kehily, 2007). The age of this transition can be best defined by the House of Commons as starting at 16 and ending at 24 years old (2013). This transition from youth to adulthood has altered considerably in recent years; the traditional norms and values that youth once followed are no longer respected or easily attained. Current youth have very different life styles and expectations, consequently; adolescents are taking longer to complete the transition into adulthood. This transition from youth to adulthood has altered considerably in recent years; the traditional norms and values that youth once followed are no longer respected or easily attained. Current youth have very different life styles and expectations, consequently; adolescents are taking longer to complete the transition into adulthood. Twenty-five years ago the traditional norms were to get a job straight after school, start courting, get married, save up enough money to set up home and eventually start a family. The fact that this is no longer the norm for the majority of youth reflects that the changes in education, employment, housing, and benefits have affected the model of transition significantly.
My company plan is open a small cafe in CBD. My Café will be located on the West Street, Near Auckland University. So my café fulfill students all needs and provide opportunities to enjoy with friends and colleagues.
There are, in some cases, firms that employ young and inexperienced workers, as mentioned before they are usually known as "youth friendly industries". Industries such as McDonalds, Coles/Myer, Safeway/Woolworths and KFC just to name a few, are the leading retail and takeaway outlets employing youth. Not only do they employ them but they provide them with the essential training to perform their duties with maximum efficiency. Some people see working as an obstacle towards school and homework and others don't want to work for ridiculously low pay. In conjunction with a high youth unemployment rate the government has introduced schemes to counteract this problem and to keep the youth population in school and out of the workforce.
