my state twice at national level. I underwent all the fitness training and I know how hard it is to train and much harder is to maintain the same level of fitness. The attributes for soccer training includes the following: proper warm up, sprint training, power training, agility training, endurance training, and recovery. Proper warm up You have to begin your soccer work out by doing light run to warm the muscles up. This is trailed by a dynamic (active) stretching of your muscles. Stretching is particularly essential as it reduces the chances of muscle tear or any other muscle related injuries. It is the area of sports which is highly overlooked by people and as result get injured. It should comprise around half an hour of your total training time.

After four years of a new team every season, I went into my first practice of my fifth soccer season expecting the same to be true. Play on this team for one year and then be randomly placed on a different one the following year. Little did I know this team, especially the coaches, would leave a lasting impact on my life. Height is only beneficial in soccer for some defenders and mid-fielders in order to gain an advantage to jump for heading while it can act to slow attackers who need speed and quickness above jump height. Speed, in both running and ball control, is required above all else to chase or lose the other team. To wrestle control of the ball from opponents, defenders in soccer must simply be stronger than the lightweight sized attackers. Only goalies need hand-eye coordination while the rest of the team needs only foot finesse. In football the many positions require their own set of needs. Quarterbacks must be tall to see the field over the lineman and have a good arm to throw the ball. Lineman must be as large and strong as possible to block or move the opposing line man. Runningbacks need speed and quickness to out run and dodge while having enough strength to break tackles and hold on to the ball. Receivers are similar except that they also need hand-eye coordination to catch passes and height to outreach the defense. Linebackers must be the most versatile, with strength to take down ball carriers and a combination of speed and coordination to keep up with receivers. I never have considered myself a quitter and would rather endure two more years of despising football than to leave it all behind. Ironically, it was my coaches’ daily harangue of “If you’re not 100% invested in this team, you are more destructive than not being here at all,” that even implemented the possibility of forgoing football. Before the next season began I was determined to find my drive for football again or give it up forever and focus on my true passion: wrestling. This would help them increase and improve their strength endurance. This training method is manly seen in gym and every set goes for 1 minute with 30-60 seconds rest in between. I chose this training method because this method would help increases their speed during the games.

In addition, a game similar to soccer was played in China by the second century BC. In England, a violent rugby type game was even played to settle feuds between villages. With the development of the industrial revolution and the creation of the first public schools, sports decreased in violence and were played more recreationally and constructively. Basketball was invented to help the youth in New England spend their energy in the winter months. Since the early 1900’s sports have been a key experience in the United States (“History of Sports”). I have played sports for many years, and the experience has helped me grow significantly as an individual.
There are many benefits gained from participating in team sports. Team participation can build self esteem, promote social interaction and help one gain a sense of responsibility. Being involved in a team sport can also help you to attain personal fitness goals and maintain wellness.
