“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” (Henry Wheeler Shaw; humorist and lecturer) Dogs are some of the most amazing animals in the world. Though they are thought to be a pest at times , they are very important to own and give great psychological and physical benefits. I would like to share with you my love and knowledge of how great dogs can be. To help you further understand my argument I will show you my interoperation of love. Love is, “the act of caring and giving to someone else...having someone 's best interest and wellbeing as a priority in your life. To truly L.O.V.E. is a very selfless act.”( PY Love and Peace) according to urbandictionary .Love is taking your dog out in the middle of the night …show more content…
Some say Love is a person’s psychological strength which makes the person stronger through the harmonization of the personality, through obtaining a constant source of positive emotions. Meaning loving something makes you stronger and a better person because your are willing to put yourself on the line for something or someone else’s benefit. But that 's not necessarily true. Sometimes people can’t let go because of love and end up making others suffer greatly. Or they can’t share the love and end up killing it . The passion behind love is sometimes taken too far, often times being a bad thing. Remember that love is experienced in many different ways. I believe that love is a cool thing to give and receive you just need to be careful of it. If you do it right you can use love as a resource of happiness. That love can come from a …show more content…
That feeling is a surge of oxytocin. According to I. Sample writer and science editor of the Guardian. Who before joining the newspaper in 2003, he was a journalist at New Scientist and worked at the Institute of Physics as a journal editor. He has a PhD in biomedical materials from Queen Mary 's, University of London. “The same hormone has been shown to spike in mothers’ brains when they look into their children’s eyes. The physiological response drives maternal caring and strengthens the bond between mothers and their babies.” There is nothing like a bond between a mother and her baby.It is known that the maternal instinct is one of the most powerful thing the world. It’s crazy to think that a you and a dog experience the same feeling , right ? Don’t believe me, Takefumi Kikusui at Azabu University and his team investigated how dogs and humans formed their special relationship. They began by watching 30 owners play with their dogs for half an hour. The breeds included golden retrievers, poodles, a Jack Russell terrier, a German shepherd dog, and several miniature schnauzers. The group was an even split of males and females.Urine tests before and after the session revealed that oxytocin levels spiked in people whose dogs stared at them the most. This provides clues about how dogs became part of human history, they show how our relationships with dogs can be good for us.The benefits
A wolf pack is, at its foundation, simply a family, with the parents (alphas) guiding the activities of the group. Hence, it is easy to believe that dogs are able to bond with human families, especially when the alphas are already parents. The parents view the dog as one of their children, one who remains dependent and will never leave or criticize them (Rogers 1), and in the same manner, the dog views the human parents as if they were his actual parents and as a result, loves and trusts them with his life gladly following them, not once questioning their decisions or actions. For these reasons, humans have found release in the company of dogs because dogs do not judge. By way of example, Sigmund Freud was notably a bad singer and as a result, never sang in public, however he often hummed an aria while petting his dog (Rogers 2). In the presence of dogs, our need to self-censor our words and actions vanishes (Rogers 2). Ultimately, dogs and human beings are able to form such strong emotional bonds through love and
Love means you are willing to do everything for the one you love. You will fight for the one
Socrates stuns the Symposium when he tells how Diotima showed him that “Love is neither beautiful nor good,” thus contradicting the theme of all speeches before his (201E). Diotima’s logic begins by postulating that love is equivalent to desire. This statement is supported by Aristophanes’s speech in which he describes the origin of human nature.
Almost all the families that own dogs treat them like a part of the family. In the story How the Dog Became Part of the Family, it stated "According to a 2015 survey by the Harris Poll, ninety six percent of owners consider their dogs to be a part of the family." Since the dogs get special treatment from their owners they will do things for them, like encroachment foxes, clean out rats from somewhere, hunt ducks, and also even pull sleds on snowy days. Dogs can be malign gard dogs for people that treat them like kinfolks. The dogs and humans can have a very special bond. "When a dog and a human gaze in each others eye a chemical is released that causes the dog and human to feel adjacent." For example, in the story How the Dog Became Part of the Family, it states that, "The Harris Poll found that 38 percent of U.S. dog owners cook special meals for their dogs," Another thing is walking a dog a lot can improve people's health and can cause less accentuation. Less accentuation causes a better day and it is helpful to kids with autism. When dos get walked it makes you and the dog feel
As the saying goes, a dog is a man’s best friend. The dog is a loving companion to a man. He is happy to go everywhere with his master. He shows his affection for his master by wagging his tail and licking his hand or face. This timeless relationship continues to evolve into new kinds of human-dog interactions that increasingly benefit society.
Thesis Statement: While most owners are aware of the amount of joy and laughter dogs bring to them and their family, they are unaware that their dogs love them unconditionally and can help them have better lives
Much of my life, love has been defined by an unexplainable and uncontrollable feeling that burns inside your soul. One that when you look at a person you will just know and the rest will be history. This definition of love I grew up love was also demanding, controlling, dependent, and selfish. But still it was something to be desired and something everyone couldn’t wait to feel. To love
Love is not a choice. We do not choose who we give our hearts to. Many people can attest to this. Emily Dickinson wrote "That love is all there is, Is all we know of love." Love is a feeling that no one has the power over and love is a feeling that conquers all. Anyone who has tried to conquer or control love has failed. Love does not listen to laws, science, societal gender, religion, social class, or race. Love is its own entity that can give human beings the biggest high they have ever felt, and also make them feel the most immense pain known to mankind. If love is all of these things and more, than love certainly is not going to be stopped by gender. To love gender is just a small hill to be climbed with new diversities on the other side.
However, when considering them the greatest animal, one must also acknowledge the profound meaning they have for people as well as the life lessons and values they instill. Due to the bond that has developed between dogs and their owners, dogs are now seen as family, not just a pet. When a dog passes away, it is a deep and emotional event for their owner. Dogs and humans have become deeply connected as dogs instill and display valuable attributes. Dogs do not discriminate, they are accepting. Dogs are fiercely loyal companions who are devoted to their owners. They are a source of comfort for many. Dogs can provide individuals with a sense of protection and are a source of joy. Dogs give their owners a sense of purpose and are an important aspect of an individual’s life. Dogs are the greatest animals because their presence promotes the wellbeing of many. As a dog owner, it is evident that dogs play an important role in the lives of
Poets and philosophers for centuries have been trying to answer the question, what is love? Love has an infinite number of definitions, which vary from one person to another. Love cannot be measured by any physical means. One may never know what true love is until love it- self has been experienced. What is love? A four letter word that causes a person to behave in a way that is out of character. What is love? A first kiss, childhood crushes on a teacher or friend’s mom. What is love? A choice that people make by putting their partner’s wishes, desires and needs above everything else. What is love? The act of forgiveness, the infatuation with someone, the communication between two people. What is love? A friendship that turned into a lifelong commitment, that special someone who has vowed to spend the rest of their lives to honor and protect, to love each other “till death do you part.” When in love nothing else in the world matters. According to the online Encarta Dictionary love is the passionate feeling of romantic and sexual desire and longing for somebody. Poets and philosophers may never know what love really is, and we may never truly understand the question what is love.
Love is said to be one of the most desired things in life. People long for it, search for it, and crave it. It can come in the form of partners, friends, or just simply family. To some, love is something of a necessity in life, where some would rather turn a cold shoulder to it. Love can be the mixture of passion, need, lust, loyalty, and blood. Love can be extraordinary and breathtaking. Love being held so high can also be dangerous. Love can drive people to numerous mad things with it dangerously so full of craze and passion.
Love is having compassion for others, sharing feelings and your life with another person, as well as, having faith in others and forgiving those we love for the any errs that they may make. Most of all, we must be committed to those we love. Of course, this is only my opinion. No matter how long I try to explain what love is ultimately it is up to you, the reader, to define what love is to you. So let me leave you now with the words of the great Humanist Erich Fromm, "Can anything be learned about the art of love, except by practicing it?"
To better understand the concept of "love", lets define the value of love. Love is the most valuable commodity in the world. We all need love just like a fish needs water. Without love, life would not be worth living. With love in our lives, we are empowered beyond belief.
Love can make you do anything and sacrifice for what will be better in the end. Love is intense and passionate. Everything seems brighter, happier, more wonderful, and just all around better when you’re in love. If you find love, cherish it and don’t let it go. Love frees us all from all the weight and pain of
What is love? Love is a very special and meaningful word to each human being.
