Maybe it’s not for me.” Ballroom dance is for everyone. Ballroom is a dance type where one grabs a partner and learns routines. Ballroom dance started with Cha Cha and Waltz plus it has been around since late 1800’s, early 1900’s. Multiple people say ballroom is not a sport however in reality it is a intense sport. Ballroom went from being 2 dances to having 2 categories of style. It started with Cha-Cha and Waltz; Now there’s Jive, Swing, Rumba, Lindy Hop, Samba, Tango, Quickstep, Paso Doble, and remarkably several more. They are enjoyable for all ages and helps everyone physically and mentally and in multiple ways. On a ballroom dance team or any team in general, as a team collectively should communicate with our teammates. In dance, oneself has to communicate with the rest of the team in order to pull formations together and getting everyone on the count. The purpose of my study to find out if participating in sports helps to reduce the levels of depression in college students. I am hoping to find out if there is a relationship between playing a sport and controlled levels of depression in college students, so that depression can be controlled and monitored in a different way. The first dance I chose to attend was the ballroom 1 dance on the 3rd of November. At this dance, the dances that I participated in, and watched were the swing, the waltz, the cha cha, and the tango. At this dance, there were some good dancers. There moves were flowed well together, and there was a very good variety between each of their moves. They also had very good posture while dancing and they always seemed to be loose, but not too loose.

1. As a choreographer I have gotten the chance to look at dance from a completely new perspective and it has affected my thoughts about different aspects of dance in the following ways. Dance training is super important to prepare you for choreography. Some moves are taught in training that are difficult to learn and need lots of practice. It is difficult to teach these moves in a choreography class because you often only have enough time to choreograph. It is also important as a choreographer to have lots of dance training because the more training you have, the bigger your dance vocabulary will be for you to pull moves from. This makes choreography less work because you don’t have to make up your own moves, just take from what you have already
