The Beatles Influence On Society

The Beatles was very well-known band that influenced society. The Beatles was a very poplar bad and many people enjoyed their music. The Beatles was different than any other band at that time. The Beatles went above and beyond the limits of music during their time. They impacted society in many different ways. There are many ways that the Beatles impacted the society but I felt like fashion, how the changed music, and how they brought people together was the most important.

Fashion is very important in society during any decade. The Beatles were new and didn’t wear the normal fashion during their time period. The Beatles brought the world many different fashion looks. The mob top was one of the most popular influences that the Beatles brought.

The mob top was resemblance to a mop, is a mid-length, straight cut, collar length at the back and over the ears at the sides with straight fringe bangs. The Beatles has many different clothing choices during their time. The Beatles started with the Greasers in Germany. The Beatles in Hamburg circa 1960, followed a fashion that was fierce that dealt with motorcycle jackets, jeans or leather pants, cowboy boots and slick pompadours. Beatles decided to straight away from the greaser look and look more grown up. The Beatles came up with the tailored mop tops. The Tailored mop tops was made up with gray collarless suits piped in black. Everyone loved there new look and followed whatever the Beatles was doing. Next was the Psychedelic savants. This included the sixties style, their groovy, velvet-trimmed togs. Soon the Beatles switched to white tee shirts and demy jackets and pants. They went more casual and the fans loved it. Beatles came up with the concept that we now know as the music video – a short, stand-alone film of a musical act presenting a current song that may or not be a live performance. The idea came to them because of their ridiculously tight schedule. They thought instead of the band having to make tons of public appearances on TV shows around the world, they could send a video of themselves instead. The first dedicated music video was for the single “Paperback Writer/Rain” in 1966. The Beatles did not just come up with music videos but was in the first live global television broadcast. TV program was called “Our World,” and it featured the contributions of artists and citizens of 19 different nations. Using four different orbiting satellites, the program was able to be broadcast live to anyone interested in receiving the signal anywhere in the world, and the Beatles performed an in-studio live version of “All You Need Is Love.” (10 Beatles Innovations that Changed Music) The Beatles also helped FM Radio come alive. At first the world was only using AM station but it would cut music off at the three minute mark. It would cut off even if the song was not over. The Beatles wrote a song called “Hey Jude” as a single in August, 1968, this song was seven in a half minutes long. It cut off at three minutes and people did not get to hear there favorite part of the song. At KSAN-FM in San Francisco, radio pioneer Tom Donahue used the promise

of a whole “Hey Jude” single coupled with other innovative ideas as a means to lure listeners away from local AM stations to his uniquely programmed FM station, and the idea eventually snowballed across the country. Within ten years, American radio stations had almost completely switched places, and put music on FM and talk radio on AM. The Beatles did not just influence music and fashion but also people.
The Beatles had their own way into influencing the people and bring them together.

America was in a bad spot before the Beatles made their appearance. America was dealing with President Kennedy who had been assassinated in Dallas three months before. The Vietnam War was heating up. Civil rights clashes became street battles. It seemed like nothing was going right for America at this time. Then came the Beatles. Stark said, "The country was in a collective depression, essentially. And to have these incredible fun and funny guys show up, almost from outer space -- which is about the equivalent of what England was in those days -- was incredibly energizing for people." “When The Beatles changed everything” This gave people hope and excitement. The Beatles were a blessing for this country. There were two strands to the 1950s; one had an element of conformity. This was built around suburbia, the rise of a more affluent middle-class and the accompanying shift towards greater conformity. Political dissent was repressed and this created both problems and opportunities for those working in the cultural sphere. The other strand contained the rise of the teenager, the birth of rock and roll, the impact of existentialism, bebop and modern jazz. There’s tension between this strand and the comfortable, conformist, middleclass society. Then you have McCarthyism and the Cold War unsettling things as well. happy. The Beatles came at a very difficult time in American but it was a good thing they came to American and started the British invasion.
The Beatles influenced many different aspect in the country but the fashion, the music industry, and how they brought people together were the biggest influences to me. The Beatles came to America at a time of need, when America was at our lowest. We needed the British invasion to send hope and excitement back to America. The Beatles were more than just a band, they were inspiration to the people of America.
