The American Nurses Association which is also referred to as the ANA defines nursing as the protection and promotional of optimal health, the ability to prevent illness and injury, and to alleviate suffering. The ANA started out in 1896 as the Nurses Associated Alumnae, and Isabel Hampton Robb was appointed the first president. The Nurses Association Alumnae later became the American Nurses Association in 1911. It is currently located in Silver Spring, Maryland with roughly 3.6 million registered nurses.
ANA helps to maintain the current profession by the promotion of high standards of nursing practice. In doing this the ANA is helping the general welfare of nurses in the workplace by enforcing positive and realistic view of nursing, and by

Mary Mahoney was a member of the Nurses Associated Alumnae of the United States and Canada, now known as the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1896. (Webster, Raymond B, 1999) She was also one of the first members of the National Association of Colored Graduate Nurses (NACGN) which was a minority nursing organizations that was focused on equality for African-American nurses comparable to that of non minority nurses. Mary was named chaplain of the organization and was later named a lifetime member. After her death on January 4, 1926 from breast cancer the National Association of Colored Graduates Nurses named an award in honor of Mary Eliza Mahoney, after the NACGN was disbanded in 1951 the American Nurses Association continued the Mary Eliza Mahoney award.
With these two organizations, the purpose of these commitments was to improve the standards of health and access to healthcare services for everyone. Promotion of the professional growth and development of all nurses included economic issues, working conditions, and independence of practice. She joined the state organization and through the state organization she was indirectly a member of the ANA and now it has just been proposed that a nurse can join the ANA without going through the state first. The ANA establishes and continually update standards of nursing practice (Catalano, 2009). A Certified nursing assistant is one of the members of the health care team. It is also known as a CNA or Nursing Aide. They refer to the ones they care for as residents or patients. In the medical field, a CNA is the lowest paid, however they are the ones who do all of the work such as physical work. They come in contact with the residents more than anyone else; they are the prime care givers. They are always under the supervision of licensed practical, licensed vocational and registered nurses, known as LPN/LVN or RN. The residents/patients that they deal with need long term care, like nursing homes and caring for them at their home. Since they are long term, staying with a faculty up to several months and even years, many CNA’s create a bond and close relationship with them. The main thing they do for them is produce basic care for them or known to them as activates of daily living or ADL. Great paying CNA jobs are very easy to find, even though it requires little training and a variety of skills.
Define Nursing Nursing is a knowledge-based profession within the health care sector that focuses on the overall care of individuals. According to The American College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP), “defines nurse practitioners as registered nurses who have received graduate-level nursing education and clinical training, which enables them to provide a wide range of preventative and acute health care services to individuals of all ages. They deliver high-quality, cost effective care, often performing physical examinations, ordering tests, making diagnoses, and prescribing and managing medication and therapies”. Nurse Practitioners are able to specialize in a particular area, such as family and adult practice, pediatrics, and women’s health; and refer patients to other specialists when necessary. Some nurse practitioners work under the supervision of a physician while others run their own practices.
It also proves that there should some retaining accountability in quality of care to individuals receiving healthcare. Aim is team work , planning, implementation , progress measuring of health care consumer within the organization.Promots continuous ongoing education of all healthcare providers.ANA provides some leadership qualities as nurses can act as a mentor to other colleagues for the improvement of nursing as a profession and quality of care. In leadership important personal qualities are communication and ability to resolve conflicts. So treat others with full of respect ,dignity and trust. Should consider the effectiveness of communication and ways to improve autonomy and accountability of nurses. Work under the influence of polcies and procedures and involve the patients and profession. Decision making bodies are taking the role for the sake of improve the healthcare outcomes and the professional practice improvement. In public health sectors there should be interprofessional team and that should be advance the nursing practice in interpreting the role for community as a whole. Also nureses can teach other staff members and patients. Pomoting good and healthy working atmosphere between local, national , international communities. Leaders are exhibiting the quality of flexible changing style and creativity according to the situation. They should be energetic in their action and also should accept the mistake by self and others . Other quality is co-ordination of care because in health sectors there is licensed and unlicensed nurses so there should co-ordination among staff members. Work as administrative team. This paper will evaluate the local, national and international drivers that have influenced the development of advanced nursing practice. The discussion will include the political, economic, social, and technological influences that have contributed to the transformation from the traditional nursing role to the numerous exciting advanced level career opportunities achievable in nursing today. Dynamics that have shaped my own current advanced nursing role will be discussed and to conclude some thoughts on the future of advanced nursing practice.
