The Adults Are Always Right? "Clean your room! Don't do that! Stop watching that stupid television, don't you have a book to read? Didn't I tell you to clean your room, do you want to be a slob when you grow up? Go to school, don't you have school today? When I was a kid . . ." Welcome to the lives of almost every teenager in North America. To most parents, when the above words are spoken, they expect to see their teen rush at the opportunity to serve them. The above words mean something to them and they think it means something to us teens. They don't understand that the words go in through one ear and out through the other. Does a German understand the words of an Italian? No! Does a Chinese man understand the words of a Greek man? No! The reason, they are two completely different languages. Now although parents and their kids speak the same language, parents don't understand that we tune out of English when we want. If we know something is going to be asked of us and we don't want to do it, we turn our brains into "Nag Mode." To define Nag Mode, is simple. Every syllable that comes out of the mouth of an adult is heard as ‘ nag.' For example: Adults say: "clean your room! ." Kids hear: "nag nag nag!" Adults say: "Stop watching television." Kids hear: "nag nag nag nag nag nag nag." They think of us as being lazy, and irresponsible, selfish and useless. Some adults quiver when they hear how we will one day run this world. What makes us lazy, the fact that we watch an hour of television after a hard day at school, before eating dinner and doing our homework? Why are we irresponsible, because we don't have time to walk the dog due to us studying for our upcoming exam? We're selfish because we want peace and quite for when we study? And useless because we can't run any errands for them when we're taking that one hour out of our day to relax. They do, do a lot and I respect them and all, but give us some credit for a change. Is it our fault that almost every house has at least one television bigger than 22" and that basic cable comes with at least thirty channels? They keep telling us their stories about when they were kids, and it always has to do with something we can't help. "When I was a kid we had a 13" black and white television,
Parents need to understand that teens have a lot going on and will not always act the best. In the Article, “The Teenage Brain: Still Under Construction” by NIMH, the author says, “so much change is taking place underneath the surface may be something for parents to keep in mind during the ups and downs of adolescence.” Sometimes the parents really doesn’t get the teen and the parent needs to be okay

Today’s American society consists of many technological achievements. The cars we drive, the classes we take, and even the things we do in our spare time has changed due to the increasing amount of technology that is available to us. Technology is a wonderful thing to behold, but then we can look at the one thing technology has done to humans and especially Americans. Technology has created a society of many lazy people. In order to support my argument, I believe that it is imperative to answer one question in great detail. How has technology made us lazy?

As babies and small children, we view our parents as role models. We emulate them as we get older. When most children reach adolescence, they think they are grown, know everything, and their parents don’t know anything. They can’t wait to get out on their own so they don’t have to follow any of those constricting rules placed upon them by their parents while they live under their parent’s roof. For the children that venture out on their own and either without their parent’s help or with just enough help to get set up, reality hits rather quickly. Out on their own, children start to see ju...
There are many circumstances that children adapt their parent’s action, attitude, and method of doing things. If parents possess countless awful attribute, there is a high prospect that the children might acquire that attribute which can lead to numerous problematic situations for the children as they grow up (Simons, Whitbeck, Conger, and Conger, 1991). Family values is vital to the needs of a growing children for the reason that it is one of the major rationale why a child or a teenager act the way they do. Favorable family values can mitigate the rough, growing attitude of a child especially if they are taught of doing things the right approach. Bad family values, on the other hand, include parent’s atrocious behavior, unhealthy family environment, and poor parenting skills. If these poor family values do not ceased to exist, children would likely to have poor values that are likely to bear until they become an adult. In a nutshell, Parents, along with their compelling influence, have the capability to shape their children with their own

Now that were in the middle of winter, chances are school will be canceled a few times. Since schools are savage, they don't give you any free days so you have to make up time. Most schools usually have different types of things they do for making up snow days. That is why i'm glad my schools lets the kids vote for what they want. If my school were to close for several days and we had to make up eight hours I would either choose to make it up on a Saturday, stay an extra hour everyday for eight days, or stay four hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Should students take a foreign language in Elementary school, or Middle school, or High school? Students should learn a foreign language in school because it expands someone's opinion on different cultures and a different point of view on the world. It gives them the chance to help others if people that speak a different language. It helps you if you go traveling and don’t speak their language. It will also help them if they need to get a job because some jobs do require you to take a foreign language. Learning a foreign language in school will give people more opportunities in the real world.
Once hormones have revealed themselves, children turn into confused young adults that think they can do everything by themselves and that there will no longer be any need for nurturing from adults. The word “young” from “young adults” is what teenagers completely ignore, when actually they should do the opposite and ignore the “adults” part. Furthermore, this causes infliction between teenagers and adults, especially their parents. Once they have the courage to say “no” with consciousness to what they are ordered to do, they come across a feeling, a feeling of being big and powerful. Because of that, teenagers then only focus on their new discovery of rebelling against adults and are, metaphorically speaking, injected with ego.
Based on the number of people who use it as a language and its easy nature to learn, English is the best candidate as the global language, which should facilitate communication in the changing environment. This draws the line between English and other languages whose usage is predominant across Europe and parts of Asia. In terms of numbers and effectiveness in learning, English is more superior to other languages.
The bell to get out of school rings. Finally. Why do days have to be so long, I can’t wait to get home so I relax on the couch and watch T.V. I walk to the gate where I wait for my sister so we can walk home together. Kendall comes out. “Are you ready to go,” I ask her. She nods.
Even though there are advantages as well as disadvantages, the need for international language for communication, politics, economics and security is necessary and English is the best “language candidate” for that function. English is a language spread all over the world and it is used by millions and millions of speakers. According to my opinion, people should use English as a tool to communicate with all cultures but every country must keep their culture and language is a great part of it. In conclusion, language defines identity of a country and everyone should keep their language and explore others.
