The ability to be lucky or unlucky can change and alter one’s life in different ways. If someone is born in the United States of America compared to a country like Venezuela, their life will play two different stories because there are more opportunities in one country compared to another. Due to luck people from countries around the world that are developed are able to better place themselves in situations that can positively alter their lives. However, impoverished individuals that are born in a country that is less developed, such as Venezuela and the Philippines, do not get the opportunity to chase their dreams only because of luck. If it was possible, I would want everybody to live a healthy life and be able to make more than two dollars a day in a country, like the Philippines. In America, it is taken for granted that we all can go to a doctor to be diagnosed and cured. In other countries, little kids die because there is no access to medicine regularly. Moreover, it is incredibly unfair that there are countries that have average life expectancies almost twenty years younger than the United States. It is also unfair that a country, like Venezuela, is having concerns on feeding their own citizens. In America, there are Shop Rites and convenient stores all over the place. How can citizens of any country be denied the right to food for their families? If I was born in Venezuela or the Philippines, would I be educated, healthy and safe? I had the ability in high school to decide what I wanted to do in college by trying out different types of classes. During my sophomore year of high school, I was able to try a beginning course that involved accounting. I was lucky enough to be able to go to high school and I took advantage of my luck to take a chance on different courses. To my surprise, my teacher ended up being a family friend and I instantly fell in love with the course. As a result, I already knew what I wanted to do in college before I was even accepted into one.
