Each century brings hope to impact human kind in the best of ways. While the 1800’s are recognized as the age of pioneering and exploration, and the 1900’s are known for social movements and cultural development, the 2000’s are currently developing into a technological revolution that sets them apart from previous centuries. Even though the 21st century has only partially developed, it has already become very important in terms of technological, social, and political advancements. Technology has expanded enormously through out the 2000’s , giving birth to social media and letting anyone have access to almost any piece of information from a hand-held gadget. The 21st century social movements have showed the continuation of America’s fight for freedom by empowering the people with the opportunity to change history and establish a new way of life. In addition to the influence of technology and social movements, many important historical events have occurred that influenced society and how the people view certain matters. Overall, the 2000’s have helped American society evolve through the assistance of many aspects including various events, inventions, etc. The growth of technology has impacted almost everything we do from writing a report for school to planning a picnic. Many new technologies have been invented through out the 2000’s and most are centered around affecting our everyday life activities. One of the most popular technologies of this decade is the smartphone and there are projected to be 1.75 billion smartphone users in 2014.
