The Texas Highway Patrol is a very important department of the Texas Government. In this paper I will inform you of the history of the department, where they are located and operate, operations they preform, and more. I will also talk about the Texas Department of Public Safety and how the troopers interact with it. The Texas Highway Patrol is a very interesting department that strives to keep the public safe by enforcing the laws and regulations of the Texas government.
The Texas Highway Patrol was organized in 1926, then called the Highway motor patrol, and then the TxDPS was created in 1935 with the Rangers and Highway Patrol serving as the foundation of the department.
