The first tennis racket that is known to be made is called a wooden paddle. The paddle was mainly used in the 12th and 16th century. In that time people also used their bare hands, although later they started to put gloves. In the 14th century the palla was invented. They were made from wooden frames and strung with animal gut. The Italians are credited for this big step in the evolution of tennis rackets.
The very first official racket was made in 1874, in London, by Walter C. Wingfield. This racket was made out of laminated wood and strung with thick original gut strings. This racket head was kinda lopsided.
The next major step in tennis racket history was when Wilson introduces the T2000, the

Tennis rackets today are made from a high modulus graphite and/or carbon fibre, which is used to keep the frame lightweight and stiff for increased racket head stability and performance. The process of them being made quite a few steps. Step 1, there are two ways you can form the frame of an aluminum racket, you can either melt it and put it into a mold or die, or you can put it in a tube then into a mold. Step 2, the rough version of the racket is put into a drilling machine. The machine uses multiple spindles with a drill, this makes holes were the the strings will be strung through. Step 3, the rackets are cooled, then put into an oven to be heated. Next they are put in a bath to be cooled down again. Then they are put through a acid solution to give it a glossy finish. Step 4, the holes that were made are now strung with (components) strings. Step 5, the final step is to put the cap (usually has brand logo on cap) and to wrap the handle with the
Tennis serve Introduction to tennis Tennis is a sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to play the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball will not gain a point, while the opposite player will.
The development of the lacrosse stick is really interesting because it started off as a one piece of wood. The stick was handmade by chopping down a tree and carving each individual stick out of it. Then the Canadians made the stick making process several times easier and less expensive by reducing the manual labor. The first modern stick model was produced by a company STX that still produces lacrosse sticks today. STX invented the plastic head stick in 1964 but did not manufacture it until 1970. The new model introduced a stick with a lightweight, symmetrical, perfectly balanced triangular plastic head with leather shooting strings and a synthetic material pocket. The new head assembly was attached to a wooden pole. But later the company created aluminum and other metal composite poles for lighter and stronger shafts with different colors too. The creation was a great innovation in modern lacrosse because the pocket structure could create mo...
A Brief History of the Bow Arrowheads have been found in Africa that date back as far as 25,000 to 50,000 B.C. Throughout the next few tens of thousands of years, humans had plenty of time to refine their techniques. Fire-hardening arrow heads, fletching arrow shafts to improve their flight characteristics, "tillering" bows so that the upper and lower limbs have the same bend radius, etc. All of these improvements helped increase the efficiency and accuracy of the bow and arrow, and helped humans to survive and advance throughout the ages. One major advance was the creation of composite bows.
Soccer is said to have originated in the 2nd century BC, but the first soccer cleats were developed around the 1500’s. Before this time people would use their hard, leather work boots which usually had a steel toe cap to play soccer. King Henry VIII is accredited to own the first soccer cleats which were made by the shoemaker Cornelius Johnson around 1525. These shoes differed greatly from the soccer cleats worn today. King Henry’s soccer cleats were made of leather that was much heavier than

It takes immense skill for an athlete to be elite. Elizabethan archery was extremely well-liked by sports enthusiasts; therefore many athletes competed in the sport. An archer must be very accurate, along with being precise, and at the top of his game to compete for awards, (Alchin). Colf is the precursor of golf, which is one of the most popular sports played presently. Colf is defined as club in Dutch. In this individual sport the ball is made out of leather casting, most commonly from the hide of a bull, which would later be soaked in alum and stuffed with goose feathers, which were softened, (Alchin). Tennis was played with a glove where a ball, first created of solid wood, would be hit against the walls of a courtyard, (Alchin). Fencing was often competed in by nobles since having good sword skills was essential to a noble because it was part of their outfit. "Jousting is a sport consisting of martial competition, usually between two mounted knights or other horseman using a variety of weapons, especially lances," ("Jousting"). Fencing and jousting are perhaps the most daring sport during this time because these athletes would jeopardize losing their eyes, fingers, among other body parts each competition. People of all classes enjoyed individual sporting events, but they all loved Bear and

It is said that in 1949, Sobek and a partner began playing with a paddle and combined the rules of handball and squash to play what they called “paddle racquets.” He then decided to change from a paddle to a racquet itself using a tennis racquet as a model. He made 25 to sell to his friends to start the sport. There was one problem though; there were faults in the ball. Sobek then found a Spalding ball made for children that work well. He bought a lot of them and sold him to his friends in 1950 to keep his sport from dwindling out. Sobek eventually started his own company to make his own ball to his exact specifications for the game.

...ne and the advancements that the equipment has made. For a physical project I will build a set of golf clubs to use for the upcoming golf season. I will compare the score that I have shot with my old clubs and the clubs that I have built for my senior project. This will help me further understand how it was to build the clubs that you play with like many men did generations ago. The great Ben Hogan sums up the game of golf the best with," It's the hardest darn game that will bring you back every time with that one elusive shot."(Hist. Of golf coarse, 7)

Fischer was so impressed with Pete's ability, he became Pete's personal coach. When Pete was eleven, he had the opportunity to hit with his childhood hero Rod Laver. Pete later told his coach that he was so nervous he couldn't get the ball over the net.
The way Morgan incorporated tennis into his game is by using a similar net; however, he raised the height to six feet and six inches off the ground. He also created this game for his fellow businessman Blain. When Morgan invented his game he came up with a set of rules, however many of his rules have been changed or there are new ones. One of the rules to this game is that before the game starts, there is a coin toss. This coin toss determines which team gets to decide who gets the serve first.
The sport of volleyball was created in 1895 by William G. Morgan. He was the Director of Physical Education of the YMCA of Massachusetts. William Morgan was born in the state of New York and studied at Springfield College, Massachusetts. Naismith’s game of basketball was inspiration for Mr. Morgan to formulate the game of volleyball.”
