High school students tend to live each day as if it’s the pinnacle of their existence. For some, it is, as they’ll come to realize the same measures of success employed in that time cannot be their crowning achievement in the real world. The values and principles generally exhibited by high school students are as far reaching from the truth as graduation is from retirement. For those who took high school lightly, enjoying more of the social aspect and never put effort into their schoolwork, they will have to live with those decisions for the rest of their lives. The life that you have been living for the past ten years may not be the one you wanted, but it is definitely the one you chose. Life is the result of choices that we have made and if you are fortunate you can look back at a life full of smart decisions. If not, you can look back at all the pitfalls that you wish you could erase. The catch is, those are the decisions you often learn from the most. While my life hasn’t been perfect, I pursued to my fullest extent and achieved accolades. During high school and college, many us...
People say high school is supposed to be the golden years of your life. I don’t know what else in life is to come; however, my philosophy is to live in the moment and make the life you’re living in the present worthwhile into the future, not only for you but for those who surround you. I live my life participating in our community and getting involved in our school. The activities, and the people I’ve formed relationships with, are what have formed me into the person I am today. The person I am today is not perfect, but I have learned from the mistakes I’ve made.
Like Hyrum, we will face unexpected challenges, disappointments and complications when we leave school and grow from students to responsible young adults. Some of us may experience unemployment, failure, ill health, loneliness and even death of loved one. Nevertheless, how we respond to these challenges is a matter of individual choice. Each one of us is the author of our own story, the master of our own fate and the captain of our own soul.”
High school is one of those milestones in an individual’s life that will be remembered for a long time to come. Whether one’s experiences are positive and allow him to find his purpose in life or whether they are so terrible that his view of education is tainted forever, what happens in high school affects how one’s future will turn out. Leon Botstein, author of “Let Teenagers Try Adulthood,” states that the traditional high school system should be abolished because it is not benefitting teenagers. He states that cliques of popularity and athleticism and teachers who care more about money than education stand in the way of proper learning for teenagers. Botstein further argues that school stifles students creativity and that they really do not want to be in school. His argument that the traditional high school setting should be abolished is somewhat justified on the fact that cliques make schooling experiences difficult; however, his statement that children’s creativity is stifled, they are bored in high school, and that they are ready to be adults at a young age is invalid.
Many people know the name Donald Trump very well, while others know little about him. Some have very strong opinions to Trump running for president and others are on his side, despite what he says. This is a very controversial topic in politics right now, especially because he has many supporters and he is a republican. Donald Trump has too many suspicions about his running for president. For example, he ran for president before as a Democrat but failed and he went to run again, but is now a Republican. Trump also had gone bankrupt before, yet he is running for president. He also has made statements that he wants to stop immigrants from coming into the United States, which has made a lot of people believe he is racist. There are many different
As a result from extreme hard work and perseverance followed by an unmatchable drive to succeed, Donald J. Trump has earned the right to be known as a multi-billionaire, real estate icon, and President of the United States of America. Reflecting on his life, he has faced many challenges and overcame them all. To understand how he rose to success and his journey to the top of the kingpin, it is important to recognize how he saw the american dream and pursued it. Today, many recognize him as the president but very few can fully grasp all that he has done in his life. From his start as a real estate mogul, to his impact on media, there are many questions as to how he became so recognizable today.
High school is meant to be the time of your life, but for most seniors just like me it can be some of the most emotional and crazy time. The things in my past make me who I am today, and the things I do now are the first footsteps into the future. I’ve learned a lot about myself in these past four years, and I still have so much learning to do. This is my high school story; the good, bad, and the ugly.
Today we commemorate 1000 years since we have left the land of Paradice. We were led by our most gracious leader, Snowman. Our people were going into the unknown, and they were rightly afraid. However, our Creator, the great Crake blessed us with the things we needed to survive and communicated messages to us through Snowman. Our teacher, Oryx, also sent messages to us that allowed us to learn what we needed to survive and thrive creating the amazing society that we live in today. Our kind started from a small village that was safe and happy. Their lives fell under the dangerous situation of the fierce beasts. Crake gave Snowman the message to deliver our people
Let’s flash back in time to before our college days. Back to then we had lunch trays filled with rubbery chicken nuggets, stale pizza, and bags of chocolate milk. A backpack stacked with Lisa Frank note books, flexi rulers, and color changing pencils. The times where we thought we wouldn’t make it out alive, but we did. Through all the trials and tribulations school helped build who I am today and shaped my future. From basic functions all the way to life-long lessons that helped shape my character.
Imagine it is one’s first day in high school. Standing in front befalls the entrance way to your new future, thinking of what lies ahead from the perspective of a middle school grad. One would perhaps have mixed emotions as to what to expect. Observing the new students around the corridors, it transpires as if they are dragging their feet to progress inside, for the reason that they are fresh from the blissful summer days; they are in exchange, yet again, to the reality of school homework, projects, reports and tests. Some have queries and doubts in their minds; what does one expect of themselves getting into a high school life such as this? “What remains in store for me, I wonder…” “This school year is going to be subsequently much tougher

Speech Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, all. You make me very proud.
You know, it is really strange how quickly time passes, after spending my whole childhood wishing I was an adult, now here we are and it's a little hard to grasp. It feels like just yesterday I was standing here in the same position at eighth grade graduation. Ahh, middle school, such a joyous time for all of us, free of maturity and not a care in the world. The biggest decisions I ever had to make then was deciding which group to stand with at passing time and choosing which shirt from my extensive collection of Stussy and No Feat apparel to wear. We were all naive to the danger that lurked just around the corner. We were unaware that the carefree world we lived in was about to come crashing to the ground in a blazing inferno of real school work and responsibility ... otherwise known as high school.
Many people believe that leadership is simply being the first, biggest or most powerful. Leadership in organizations has a different and more meaningful definition. A leader is someone who sets direction in an effort or task and influences or motivates people to follow that direction. The power point presentation explains leadership is the influence that particular individuals exert on the goal achievement of others in an organizational context.
High school years are supposed to be a time for fun and exciting events in every adolescent's life. There are parties, ball games, and local after school hangout joints where we can meet. All combined to making high school the most memorable years of any teenage girl?s life. However, my experience in high school took an uneventful turn in tenth grade. My carefree ways had to end and a new wave of responsibility was presented to me. I found out that I was two months pregnant. My thoughts tugged at my conscience, how was I to tell the father of my unborn child? Would my mother support my decision? I had to forget about my partying ways and hanging with my friends. My freedom days of coming and going were about to be over and I quickly became the girl about whom everyone was talking.
Graduation: the last day that I would unwillingly set foot on the fields of Horizon High School. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest, and tried so hard to keep my feet moving one after the other in order to maintain my perfect stature. After the two hour wait of opening speeches, class songs, and the calling off of the five hundred plus names that were in front of me, it was finally my turn. As my row stood up and we walked towards the stage it had set in at last, this is it, I am done. My high school career ended on that night, but it didn’t close the book that is my life, it only started a new chapter, and with it came a whole slue of uncertainties.
