Television and the Impact on Children
Have you ever wondered how television affects your children? The
average child watches television 2 hours per week and most of this viewing is of
violence or sexual acts. During this time there is a violent act shown every 6
minutes and on Saturday mornings there is 20 to 25 violent acts shown every hour
on prime time t.v. especially in cartoons or animated programs. So no matter
what your child is watching it is damaging their sense of imagination and
creativity. Now there is no need for children to use their imagination and
creativity anymore, television has even taken that away from them.
In today's generation television has a great influence on children.
Unfortunately most of the programs watched by children have a negative impact
and give the wrong impression of what really happens in everyday life. It also
influences their development and their behaviours. "In fact childhood
development experts say infants as young as 14 months old imitate behaviour they
see on t.v and children up to the age of 5 lack the cognitive ability to
distinguish fact from fantasy"(Internet; Children and television violence)
Therefore what they see on t.v is what they are most likely to imitate.
Cartoons are even showing numerous acts of violence and most of this violence is
done by the "good guys". For example, Power Rangers; how do they get rid of the
bad guys? by fighting . During the whole episode you see the "Rangers" kicking,
punching and attacking the bad guys. Other shows like X-men, Sailor Moon,
Looney Tones, and even Care Bears show violence towards others. It's no wonder
children think it's okay to act this way when even their "Super Heroes" who are
supposed to be the good guys are hurting others. They see the good guys doing
these things and think it's appropriate.
I've notice even with my own cousin that when he has finished watching
an episode of Power Rangers he tends to get aggressive and hyper-active. He
copies the exact same moves that the Power Rangers use. It's almost like he
believes he is one of them. He believes that when he punches people or kicks
them that it doesn't hurt because that's what he sees on t.v. It's not like you
see the characters ever show any pain. Even when he plays with his friends they
pretend that they are Power Rangers vs. the bad guys and fight each other. Shows
like this even have the use of guns, which I don't believe in.
In schools, teachers have noticed the difference between children who
thinks that he just merely works under them and he always has to no matter what

In 1712 Handel decided to settle down permanently in England where he received a yearly income of 200 Sterling Pounds from Queen Anne for the compostiotion of “Utrecht Te Deum” and “Jubliate.” Handel composed church cantatas and chamber music that was written for small audiences. These observations often lead to a definitive dichotomy that precisely splits characters into two impermeable divisions. This solicits genesis of an entirely new notion about the differences between superheroes and supervillains. A more precise idea is that superheroes and supervillains are lined on a spectrum that spans from pure good to pure evil. Disparities between superheroes and supervillains are not black and white, but rather these characters are on a spectrum that radically changes based on individual cases.

Today in the United States many people argue over the fact of guns being legal or illegal. About forty years ago, teachers used to say that the worst problems in their schools were students chewing gum and talking during class. Wouldn't it be wonderful if those were still the biggest problems? Unfortunately, teachers now are struggling with many deaths of their students and maybe even their own children. The numbers of teenagers’ deaths increase everyday from gun violence. Students, particularly boys, who carry guns, are more likely to be involved in drug activity according to The Children Data Bank and more likely to have committed crimes with weapons. Likewise, girls who carried guns were more likely to report feeling threatened. Therefore, stricter law for gun control will lessen the insecurity of a person when holding a gun and prevent further unnecessary death.

Television is a distraction for children and can hurt their cognitive abilities if they watch too much because it is non interactive. In the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity Helena Duch and colleagues mentioned that the American Academy of Pediatrics advises, “parents avoid exposing children 2 and under to screen media, a nationally representative survey found that 68% of children under the age of 2 use screen media in a typical day, and that average screen time was 2.05 hours per day” (Dutch et al 2). Handel was born on February 24th, 1625 in Halle, Germany. He was born into a family with no musical background, but started to show signs of talent at the age of ten (8notes.com). His father wished for him to study Civil Law, but became alarmed when George showed such interest in music (Wikipedia). Handel then began to secretly practice the organ and the harpsichord, but played only to himself until meeting Duke Johann Adolf II. Handel was a prize in the Duke’s eyes, one that he would not let slip away. So with his father’s permission, Handel started to study music openly and freely. Handel then made the move to Hamburg, where he became a violinist in an orchestra. There he learned the Italian styles of music, and began to develop his opera Almira. This opera gave him great success, and he spent the next ten years perfecting his style of opera before moving back to Germany in 1710.
