1. Introduction:

Telephone invention is the most marvellous innovation considered in the world. We often consider our society to be saturated by technologies of many sorts. Telephone is classed among the information and communication technologies It is now considered one of the major source of communication. It form and functions precisely defined the challenges of interaction between two separate parties: long distance is conquered instantly and any telephone in the world can connect to different location by means of networks. In this material I will like to focus on the noticeable, persistence and essential contribution of telephone and its impact on social, political, economy and modern engineering practices.

2. What is telephone?

Telephone often referred to as phone is a telecommunication device designed to transmit and receive human voice simultaneously (Colins 1977). This device encourages people separated by large distance to communicate without losing contact with their business and some social responsibility. Telephone is made up of microphone through which the user can speak into and earpiece which produce the voice of the other partner. The telephone consist of prominent feature which help alert the owner when call is coming in. its structure is well organised with embedded keypads to enter the telephone number.

5. Conclusion

Having so far, the invention of telephone has provided a medium of development. It is a key contributor to engineering and technological advancement. Telephone has played a vital role in the development of engineering, medicine and social well fare. Today people separated by far distance under network coverage can still be in contact with the help of this device However, telephone has also been reported to be used by youths for illegal purposes such as bullying and distribution of child pornography. It has been reported that prolong contact with the cellphone could cause brain turmos cancers etc. due to the emission of radiation from it.
