Ted Cruz is a Republican politician. Cruz is a very conservative politician who went to Harvard University to become a lawyer before going into politics. In the year 2000, Cruz “served as an advisor on the 2000 presidential campaign of George W. Bush” (Mead). In 2013, Cruz became the senator of Texas and is currently running for president. “Cruz has become better known for his speeches and tactics than for creating legislation.” Cruz delivered a 21 hour long speech of his opposition on Obamas healthcare to cut funding and which encouraged the government shutdown of 2013. Cruz is also very religious and has clearly stated his beliefs. One of those beliefs is that “marriage should be between a man and a woman” (Mead). Clearly Cruz goes against
same sex marriages and if Cruz would become president that would mean people of same sexes would not be able to marry anymore. Cruz also is also pro-life so he is against abortion. If voted for, women would most likely lose their freedom and right to make choices over their own body. Cruz is quoted saying that “instead of a government that undermine our values, imagine a federal government that work to defend that sanctity of life, and to uphold the sacrament of marriage.” Cruz would set the people back, and all the progress for rights that should be inherent would be gone. Cruz is also known for making false comments. On January 28, 2016 Cruz said Obamacare “is the biggest job-killer in this country – millions of Americans have lost their jobs, have been forced into part time work” (Greenberg). Since 2010 there has been an increase in jobs, specifically part time jobs. Because it is difficult to find a full time job with benefits, people are more willing now to take part time jobs. But the job problem in America and why people are struggling daily, is not the Healthcare that Obama implemented but because although jobs are being created, they are not good jobs. Obamacare has actually given a lot of people a chance to afford and have healthcare. According to the Obamacare facts millions of people now have healthcare because of Obamacare.
Cory Booker, senator of the United States, uses personal judgements along with pathos, ethos, logos, and various rhetorical devices to convince the audience that Hillary Clinton and Jim Kaine are the most suitable candidates from the Democratic party for presidency. During the month of July 2016, a speech by Booker was given at the Democratic National Convention in New Jersey. The speech was to inform and connect to the people of America, known as the audience, that the two candidates, Hillary and Tim, are capable in holding the position of presidency and continuing the traditions of the past.
Ted Cruz is a fairly strong contender for the Republican nomination at the moment and has some definite strengths. His first strength is his fervent support of and commitment to upholding the Constitution, especially the First and Second Amendment. He worked as a lawyer prior to becoming a senator and is well versed in constitutional law. Another strength is his strong conservative ideals, which makes him popular among the Tea Party and evangelical voters, especially when it comes to issues such as abortion, marriage equality, gun rights, immigration and more. In addition, he has the ability to raise a lot of money. In the second quarter of 2015 alone, he had raised over $10 million, with no signs of slowing down. He has a strong campaign team
Many would argue that President Obama is one of the most effective speakers in the decade. With his amazing speeches, he captivates his audience with his emotion and official tone.
Politics is dirty and competitive and has not changed between 1879 and 2018. It is a complex system of jargon, charm, facts, and lies. Mark Twain’s “The Presidential Candidate” satirically expresses the essence of both old-world and modern politics as a presidential candidate who blatantly tells the truth of his wrongdoings. As a politician, one must be an open book. Their life must be truthfully written on the pages for the readers to analyze and evaluate their credibility as leaders. “The Presidential Candidate” resonates both in 1879 and 2018 with his use of humor, use of diction and use of subtlety.
Every 20th of January, the United States undergoes the passing of power from one president, to another. On this specific election, Donald J. Trump was elected as president. He has received much criticism from opposition, but much praise from his supporters. Although a very controversial person, Trump gave a great speech that was based on uniting the people as one. Trump used multiple rhetorical strategies such as repetition, pauses in speech, and listing are just a few of them. Adding hints of populism, his speech was one that touched many citizens. While very controversial, Trump’s inauguration speech was one that was based on the people, not the elite, about bringing back what made America great, and uniting everyone as one.

Political Analysis Political analysis is the method by which the judgement upon any political event, in any part of the world, is performed. It is based on the perception of the political reality of the region or the country in question and the perception of the relationship of this political reality with international politics. In order to perceive the international situation and international politics, it is imperative to have general outlines that explain the political reality of every state and the relationships of these states with the other states of the world, especially the major powers that influence the progress of events in the world. Since the Islamic Ummah is commanded to carry the Islamic Da'wah to all people, it is therefore obligatory upon the Muslims to be in touch with the world with awareness of its conditions and perception of its problems. The Muslims must acquaint themselves with what motivates the states and the peoples and pursue the political actions that occur in the world.
“The beauty of me is that I am very rich” according to Donald Trump. His ignorance has lead him to do things that he shouldn’t being doing or has done. In the past few months he has been racist man that would insult people that are from a different race. When Trump started running for president he would insult and bully everybody in general not knowing the people’s stories. He made people seem like they are poor and have nothing to live for, Trump’s inability to see past his greed. He wants to separate the United States and wants people to think he is the best of the best; Trump should not be President.

Ramsey’s talk is affected by the audience in the sense that she uses
Ted Cruz is a junior Republican Senator form the state of Texas, since 2013; taking office on January 3rd, 2013. Before he would become senator he would be working for a private law firm representing corporate clients (Eckholm, 2012). He would go on to run for Senator in the state of Texas and win, which the “Washington Post” would call his win the biggest upset of the 2012 elections. Coming form a very republican state such a Texas means that his stance on issue would be very involved with that of the Republican Party. Pro-life, traditional marriages between one man and one woman, and a very heavy supporter of gun rights, he votes strictly along party lines. Also, he would not be afraid to flex his muscles out on the floor, and would threaten to filibuster any gun control legislation that would come up (Lengell, 2013). The threat to filibuster any gun control measure covers any effort such as any ID or background checks as well. Along with his stance on many of the top issues facing the country today, he was selected to on a nationwide tour in an effort to defund the Affordable Care Act dubbed “Obama Care”, and would go on to state that the government shutdown would not be a disaster to the republican party or America (Burns, 2013). Cruz would be one of the individuals that would be credited for the 2013 government shutdown.
Jeff Sessions and his speech can be broken down to a sociological perspective with the elements of a moral panic. Sessions would a represent the Politico-Moral Entrepreneur element in a moral panic. He is a political figure with a lot of background knowledge of security. So when he speaks about undocumented immigrants committing these crimes, the audience will believe it. The "Linking behavior to a Dangerous element" element is also relevant Sessions links these crimes, drug trafficking, and sexual assaults to the undocumented population. Sessions state "Under the President's leadership and through his Executive Orders, we will secure this border and bring the full weight of both the immigration courts and federal criminal enforcement to combat
The application of allusions successfully helps President Obama emphasize the idea of equality and unity. The author supports this when he mentions the "blood drawn by lash"; referring to slavery. This quotation lets us reflect on the struggle slaves were obliged to endure in order to gain equality with the rest of the White population. He later alludes the preamble to the United States' Constitution when he says, "We, the people..." The preamble is extremely critical to the history of the United States since it summarizes the basic rights that guarantees equality for all. Lastly, President Obama ends with a reference to the Declaration of Independence when he mentions the unalienable rights of "life, and liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.".
Let’s take a step back to 2008 in Philadelphia. Neither the city nor year suggests that history is going to be made. On March 18, 2008, at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Barack Obama took the stage and delivered a speech that would portray the racial landscape of his presidency. In his speech, Obama points out rhetorical tactics to support his argument that we as Americans in this country need to be united for racial equality to exist. He begins his speech with a back story to highlight the kairotic moment present, then appeals to pathos through lots of examples of racial injustice to signify the need for such change, and then uses his appeals to ethos to suggest ways of change for Americans, both black and white. The speech was very successful: people from both sides praised his bravery, and later the same year, Obama demolished McCain in a close victory to secure his presidency.
...constant with his view on these other topics, and personally I believe he wants to discourage others from being gay.
This essay will aim to discuss what Aristotle proposes by the statement “man is by nature a political animal”. When looking at this question, the first thing to establish is the meaning of the word ‘political’. We must consider the fact that in the time of Aristotle the word ‘political’ was taken to mean something quite different, it was used to encompass a much wider description. In terms of the classical definition, the word political can be directly related back to the Greek word ‘polis’. The word polis can be translated into the ‘city-state’. To be political, was to involve oneself in the polis, which was the city-state. The polis is where the majority of, if not all, social activity took place and for that reason “ all social life in classical Greece was ‘political’ as it took place within the polis” (Mulgan, 1990). Aristotle maintains the idea that in order for a man to be political, he must take part in all aspects of society, not just certain political affairs.
