December 22, 1970 marks the day Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz was born in Calgary, Canada. In his early years Ted joined an after-school program that introduced him to free market economics. This program created a youth group that focused on the Constitution, in there they gave speeches around Texas on related issues. Cruz first attended Faith West Academy near Katy, Texas then attended Houston's Second Baptist High School. After graduating as Valedictorian at Houston's Second Baptist High School, Cruz then chose to attend Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs then to Princeton University. At Princeton Ted graduated as cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy in 1992. After graduating from Princeton University in …show more content…
In 2003, Cruz was appointed by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott to the office of Solicitor General till 2008. While being Solicitor General, Ted argued before the Supreme Court nine times, winning five cases and losing four. Nothing is as always at it seems though. Ted’s life hasn't always been so great, behind closed doors Cruz stated that his parents were actually alcoholics and that his father temporarily abandoned the family-“Both of them had serious problems with alcohol. And when I was 3 years old, my father decided he didn’t want to be married anymore. And he didn’t want a 3-year-old son. So he got on a plane and left.” Cruz's parents split up for a time, but they reunited after Rafael (Cruz’s father) had a newfound interest in religion. Cruz then said “And he went and bought an airplane ticket and flew back to Calgary to rejoin my mother and to rejoin his son. So when anyone asks is faith real, is a relationship with Jesus real, I can tell you if it were not for my father giving his life to Christ, I would have been raised by a single …show more content…
Trump also called Cruz ugly, hated, arrogant, and other insulting words, any of which could have stuck instead. Ted has been accused of lying on multiple occasions. Such as, Cruz wrongfully stating "The president issued a decree to every public school in America demanding that they change their bathroom policies, demanding that every public school now allow grown men and boys into little girls’ bathrooms. We have entered the world of politically correct lunacy," but realistically, Obama's policy was aimed at students and was intended to ensure that transgender kids could use the bathrooms they felt the most comfortable using. Cruz has also lied and said he's "consistently opposed shutdowns.", referring to the shutdown in 2013. But Cruz must have forgotten about the time about conspiring with House Republicans for a funding bill discussion that lead to a 17-day shutdown. Jokingly media spread a rumor in 2013 of Ted Cruz being the zodiac killer. The zodiac killer was an unidentified murderer in northern California that targeted four men and three women between the ages of 16 and 29 from about the late 1960’s to the early 1970’s . Spreading like wildfires this
Ted Cruz is a fairly strong contender for the Republican nomination at the moment and has some definite strengths. His first strength is his fervent support of and commitment to upholding the Constitution, especially the First and Second Amendment. He worked as a lawyer prior to becoming a senator and is well versed in constitutional law. Another strength is his strong conservative ideals, which makes him popular among the Tea Party and evangelical voters, especially when it comes to issues such as abortion, marriage equality, gun rights, immigration and more. In addition, he has the ability to raise a lot of money. In the second quarter of 2015 alone, he had raised over $10 million, with no signs of slowing down. He has a strong campaign team

Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27 1858 in Manhattan, New York. His parents were Theodore Roosevelt Sr. and Martha Bulloch Roosevelt. Teddy didn’t come from a poor family at all, Teddy was tutored at home by private teachers and took many trips to Europe and the Middle East. Teddy later went to further his education at Harvard University in 1876, where he would study many subjects like, German, history, zoology, forensics, and writing. Since he had some many interest it helped him become a well rounded individual and not just a one minded man. During his time at Harvard Teddy met his future wife Alice Hathaway Lee and were married in1880. After his marriage with Alice he decided to go to school at Columbia to study law. However, he decided to drop out after a year there to study political science. Teddy was then elected to the New York Assembly and served from 1882 to 1884. After he served in the assembly a tragedy occurred. Both his wife and mother died just within a couple hours of each other. After his tragic losses he moved out west to become a rancher to try to recover from both of the losses. Two years later in 1886 he came back to New York and found his next wife, Edith Kermit Carow, whom he raised six kids with including the one from his previous...
Ted's family knew there was something wrong with him ever since he was a baby. His mother said that he had strange lapses as a child where he would go silent and still. As he got older the "shut-downs" (as they became known as by his family,) started to be accompanied with rage. He never fit in with anybody his own age. For instance, when Ted was 10 years old, his father tried taking him to a boyscout meeting but Ted would not have anything to do with the other children, so his father gave up. The only thing Ted liked doing was reading and playing his trombone. Ted proved to be very smart and at the young age of 15 years, was given a scholarship to study Greek tragedy for the summer at the University of Chicago. Ted went to Harvard and graduated with a degree in Mathematics, when he was 20 years old. Ted was then offered a tenured-track job at the University of California and taught there until his abrupt resignation in 1969. His family knew nothing of his resignation until he showed up at his parents house to move in. Ted stayed with his parents for two years and during that time he had many low paying jobs, the first being a gardener at the local mall. In 1971, Ted's parents woke up to find Ted gone and only a note thanking them for letting him stay with them. The note was so short and to the point that his father thought that it he was going to commit suicide.
...ted in Quitman County elections and which would have stolen his chance to run for state senate, all orchestrated by Hurst, it’s strange to think about how he might have never eventually become president. It could have been he became disillusioned with the world of politics and decided to just continue on his life as a peanut farmer.
He was intelligent, articulate and handsome. During a gruesome killing spree, Ted Bundy slaughtered more than thirty five women within the span of five years, becoming one of the most notorious serial killers in American history. He grew up believing that his grandparents were his parents and his unwed mother to be his older sister. He was not very good at building relationships and had a lot of conflict with his stepfather and enjoyed the terms of violence and sex as a child. Ted shoplifted during his teenage years and enjoyed being above the law. He was generally very shy and gained a lot of popularity and self esteem in high school because of his good looks. It was there that he met his high school girlfriend Stephanie Brooks with whom he become obsessed, but the relationship did not last very long as she did not feel the same way for him so she broke up with him. Depressed by the break up, Ted dropped out of college and returned home with his family where he found out the truth about his biological mother. This left Ted in a state of confusion about his identity and he felt betrayed by the women in his life. He went back to high school where he and Stephanie got back together but right after she agreed to marry him, he broke up with her to seek revenge. After this charade his killing spree began, luring young women with lies, abducting, raping, physically abusing and killing them.
The Zodiac Killer is an unidentified man who is presumed to be a serial killer that operated in Northern California in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Murdering at least five people, but the Zodiac claims to have killed upwards of 37 people in total. In 1969 the Zodiac Killer began sending letters to the Bay Area newspapers, taking credit for the five killings and threatening further violence. The Zodiac Killer would call and send cryptic letters to the law enforcement agencies in Northern California, taunting them since they were unable to bring him to justice. The police had suspects but none that they could ever charge for the murders, due to lack of evidence, so this mystery still remains unsolved. The cultural impact that the Zodiac Killer has had on tv, movies and the media is still around today and has had many shows and movies remade after what this killer did. The cultural impact as well as for the families of the victims still remains today with still no closure, for those families who live in Northern California still there is the fear that crosses the minds on how such an awful criminal was once a part of their society, someone they may

As an adolescent, Kennedy attended many schools because his large family moved around multiple times. In the end, he graduated high school from Milton Military Academy in 1942 after attending for only 12 months. Kennedy went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Government from Harvard in 1948 then attended Law School at The University of Virginia. While in Law School at The University of Virginia, Kennedy married a friend of his sister, Ethel Skakel. They were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church where John Kennedy was the best man (“Biography: RFK,” n.d.). Soon after graduating Law School in 1951, Robert Kennedy emerged as a Politian he worked alongside his brother, John, as a manager for his United States Senator campaign. During his lifetime he had various jobs in the government, such as Senate subcommittees and eventually Attorney General after helping his beloved brother, John Kennedy, win the Presidential Election of 1960 (“Biography: RFK,” n.d.). Prior to becoming Attorney General, Kennedy worked on Joseph McCarthy’s Senate Committee on Unamerican Activities, which investigated organizations that intended to undermine the United States (“Biography: RFK,” n.d.).
Born in Brookline, Massachusetts on May 29, 1917, John F. Kennedy was among the very wealthy families in his area. Attending many private schools while growing up made Kennedy try and do his best in everything he did. In the meantime, Kennedy’s parents were succeeding. His father, a successful banker on Wall Street, was making a fortune from the stock market after World War II. His Mother was a very beautiful debutante. Kennedy was surrounded by many influential people in his life. His grandfather served as a congressman and as the mayor of Boston. Kennedy’s parents came from Boston’s most prominent Irish Catholic Political families. John Fitzgerald Kennedy was born May 29, 1917 in Brookline, Ma. He was born into a very wealthy family the Fitzgerald and the Kennedy’s, both were prominent Irish Catholic families. JFK was the second oldest out of 9 siblings which they were all extraordinary siblings, and from Eunice Kennedy founding the Special Olympics, Robert Kennedy being a U.S. Attorney General, and Ted Kennedy was one of the most persuasive senators in American History. But other than all of them being substantial to the Government they remained close-knit and supportive of each other throughout their unified lives. JFK attended a Catholic boys boarding school in New Milford, Connecticut called Canterbury, where exceeded in English and history but nearly flunked out of Latin, which he did not have any interest. After he got out of Canterbury he went on to Choate, which is an exclusive Connecticut preparatory school. After graduating from Choate and went to Princeton University for one semester then in 1936 Kennedy transferred to Harvard University. While he was there he was proving to be an average student due to his interest in sports and women. He was also very popular with his classmates at Harvard. As he grew older he began taking his studies seriously and began to realize his pot...
One of the first things we have learned about politics this semester is that there is a constant struggle over the true definition, especially in how broad or narrow the definition is. When Thomas Jefferson wrote that “Politics are such torment that I would advise everyone I love not to mix with them.” it is understood that he is referring to the electoral and governmental aspects of politics. If Dr. Michael Rivage-Seul and Leslie Cagan were to read this quote, they would argue that Jefferson has an extremely narrow view of politics and that if one were to desire a more accurate definition, they would have to look further than the restrictive culturally accepted definition. Martin Luther King, Jr. would also disagree with this definition but he I think he would have a bigger problem with the advice that Jefferson is giving. All three of the authors that we have looked at would, in one way or another, be forced to disagree with Jefferson based on the principles that they try to uphold and emphasize in their writings and speeches.
Between the late 1960s and early 1970s, northern California has been terrorized by the notorious “Zodiac Killer”. “I like killing people because it is so much fun. It is more fun than killing wild game in the forest because mn is the most dangerous animal of them all,’ said the Zodiac Killer. The cold hard truth is that the identity of the Zodiac Killer remains a mystery to this day.
Each religion believes in a higher being than any human. In the Catholic religion we believe in God. There are three divine persons in one being whom we perceive as God. We give God this recognition because He created all things including the covenant in which humans received their salvation. In the book On the Incarnation by Saint Athanasius many challenges of why God is the only God are confronted. It is justified that God is the one and only God through examples, parables and scripture. The covenant in which God came to the Earth in human form as Jesus Christ to bring salvation to all His people is known as the Incarnation and was unquestionably accomplished through Jesus Christ.
