Ted Bundy was born on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, Vermont. Bundy, is the son of Eleanor Louise Cowell and his father's identity was unknown. Bundy lived with his grandparents until the age of 3 in Philadelphia. All of Bundy's close friends and family were told that Bundy’s grandparents were actually his parents and that his mom was his older sister. They did this because having a baby outside of wedlock was considered bad during that time period. Bundy didn’t find out who his real mother was until 1969 which caused life long hatred towards his Mother. At the age of 4 Bundy and his mom moved to Tacoma,Washington.His mother then met John Culpepper Bundy. . After they got married Ted was soon joined by two brothers and a sister. Almost all were between the ages of 15 and 25. Many were college students.”(Lamberton) This profile fits the description of all of bundy’s victims. There were a few forensic techniques used to catch Ted bundy. First,Locard's principle, which states that when two objects come in contact with each other something will be left behind. Forensics scientist found fibers from a victim of bundy's named kimberly Leach. The fibers were they found were inside Ted’s van and on the clothes he allegedly wore that day.Secondly,forensic serologist were able to find blood on one of bundy's victims coat.The victim named Carol Daronch was taken by Bundy when he posed as a security guard at a mall. Finally a Florida police officer found Bundy's stolen Volkswagen which included a flashlight,gloves,a mask, and an ice pick.Some of the main individuals involved in bringing down bundy were Liz Klopfer and Robert Keppel. Ted Bundy’s first arrest was August 16 1975 when a highway patrol officer in Utah stopped Bundy. The officer was suspicious of Bundy's erratic driving and the look of the car. The officer did a search of the car and discovered rope,and ice pick, gloves, and several other items. Bundy’s first court trial was on February 23rd 1976. Bundy had taken Carol Daronch and was found guilty for Kidnapping and was sentenced to a utah state prison. Then in an article written by the Salt lake tribune they state that inmates saw bundy “crawling around in the space above his cell.”(Salt lake tribune) After this report the prison put metal bars on bundy's cell but it was no use because Bundy escaped the Utah prison December 30th 1977. He escaped right before he was suppose to stand trial for the murder of Caryn Campbell of Dearborn,Michigan. This was actually bundy’s second escape after he escaped from the Pitkin
