Technology monitor for children and adolescents can be great tool , because as a parents our major concern is our children safety and knowing what are they doing or who they associated with can definitely be beneficial , however, after watching the episode from Black mirror I can also understand that we have to monitor our children up to a point because violating the primacy of the child could be counterproductive. We as parent needed to work in the family values, having an open communication with our children , being honest of our fears. I agree that It’s difficult for parents to raised our children thinking on all the dangerous situation that a child can face in the world. believe we wanted the best for them but we have to respect their space , their choices , they also have free will. When a child is under the age of 9 years is possible to have a little more control over certain situation but after that it's kinda hard . There's many reason for a child be begin acting up such as hormones , peer pressure , seeking for attention and popularity or simple because the desire to explore different things world. I believe that having open dialogue and sharing our own experience sometimes can help them understand our concerns without having to violate their privacy.

There are virtually countless social sites and media used by individuals to access and share experiences , content, insights, and perspectives. Parents today tend to believe they should spy on their kids online activity. I argue parents should respect the privacy of a child's social life and his/her internet activity.
“The Risks of Parenting While Plugged In” by Julie Scelfo. This article was about parents paying too much attention to technology that they forget about their little ones. Also how using too much technology can affect your child in negative ways. In the article she states an incident she saw with a mother and son. The son was repeatedly trying to get his moms attention but she wouldn’t look up. Things like this can make children feel ignored make them feel upset. It could make them be on the internet just as much as their parents. Parents now days need to put time aside for their little ones. I agree that things need to change, and we can have better focused parents.
Harlan Coben’s essay “The Undercover Parent” attempts to enlighten readers, specifically parents, of the benefits to installing spyware onto their children’s computers in order to keep record of their child’s online activity. Whilst admitting at first he was not particularly keen on spyware himself, Coben aims to persuade his audience of the benefits by highlighting the dangers of children using the internet unsupervised and without boundaries. However, Coben fails to supply factual evidence to back up his claims, all while stating a number of contradictions within his own arguments.
“Do you wish you’d grown up with your mom tracking your every move? If not don’t do it to your own kid.” states Lenore Skenazy in her persuasive article Tracking Kids like Felons. These words draw an immediate comparison to “the golden rule” or “treat others how you want to be treated.” In this article Skenazy evaluates a personal-tracking app called FamilySignal. As the readers we see the author’s take on this specific point in the very first sentence when she uses sarcasm on the word “safe.” Skenazy does not give too many facts but she does base most of her article off of morals, which may even be more persuasive. Even in today’s day and age tracking ones every step is definitely not ok, even with the advanced technology that we have.
¨The Undercover Parent¨ by Harlan Coben, published in an online newspaper ¨New York Times¨ (16 March 2008), claims that the Internet is dangerous for kids. Harlan Coben explains how spyware could be a resource that keeps track of our kids’ internet use, but how it could also invade sons’ and daughters’ privacy. He also claims that parents should have conversations about their concerns with teens, and let them know spyware is a possibility. In my opinion, I quite agree and do not agree with the most of it.
The technology and the development has improved to a great extent, but instead of using it the right way, we, as individualists, have chosen to do it in the wrong way. However, the big and not least controversial question is why should parents have a track for their kids? Well the answer is obvious. Often, parents use technology as a way to occupy a young child long enough for them to get something done. In Ray Bradbury’s story “The Veldt” two siblings turn on their parents when threatened to have their technology taken away. The family had been so dependent on technology that they did not realize what was happening until it was too late. In today’s society we are overwhelmed with technology. Technology is changing everyday, and will forever be a staple in our lives. The effect that technology has on our children has brought on some concerns and some praises. Children these days have no choice but to some how be influenced by the ever growing technology in our societies. Our common concern has been that although digital technology has boosted children’s talent for multitasking, their ability to process information deeply may be deteriorating (Carpenter, 2010). Many people have a wide range of opinions on if technology is having a positive influence on our children or a negative, there is a vast amount of evidence to support both of these arguments. Technology can refer to so many things, but there are three main parts of technology that are having the greatest effects on our children: video games, television/media, and computers. The modern technologies we have today are so powerful because they attract our genetic biases, that the human brain has a tremendous love for visually presented information. Video games, television, movies and computer programs are all very visually oriented and therefore they attract and keep the attention of children easily.

Parents of teenagers have to make the decision of whether or not their teen should own the newest phone. Surprisingly, these small portable phones have created a controversy among many parents and pediatricians among America. Some believe that teenagers should have a cell phone to provide safety and assurance to the teens and their parents. Whereas many claim that cell phones are not beneficial towards teenagers and the owning of a cell phone should wait until adulthood. Although some parents argue that cell phones provide teenagers with safety, teenagers should not own cell phones due to the various medical issues and social problems that are linked to teenagers owning cell phones.
