“Is society too dependent on technology?” Tom thought to himself as he drove to Colorado. He was on a family trip to visit his parents. It was a long trip and he had never been there before so he decided to use his navigation system to get there. He typed in his destination and headed to Colorado. On the way, his four-year-old son threw a juice cup, which spilled all over the navigation system. He did not think he would need a map, and now his family and he are stranded on the highway in the middle of nowhere until they can get assistance. Many people would say that this is the result of depending too much on technology. Some even believe that the generation of today would be better off without it. They think that it is a luxury that should be taken away. However, this cannot be true. Technology can cure laziness, is very necessary, and the benefits are much greater than living without it.
Technology is a great resource to use if one wants to be proactive. As stated earlier, some argue it causes too much laziness, when in reality it is the opposite. Many in fact, use the lack of technology as an excuse to be lazy. Someone without a car may find it easier to receive unemployment and live with his mother because finding a job in walking distance is too difficult. If this man owned his own vehicle he would be more inspired to go out, get a job, and work hard at it, yet instead he decides to stay home and be un-employed.
Some say that technology is not a good thing because it results in helplessness. According to Jenny C. McCune "Most of us (and our companies) rely on technology so much that we don't know what to do when it breaks down" (McCune). For example, "Take the pager satellite fiasco that occurred last year when the Hughes...

...ier and better. Society should not shy away from something that is this beneficial. This is why it is nearly impossible to depend on technology too much.

Since the Industrial Revolution, technology has become an essential tool in human life. Technology impacted lives in society by offering a way to “multitask” by using two or more technological devices. Technology and internet offers the facility to do homework faster through Google, while listening to music on Pandora or YouTube. Sometimes, you can even talk on the phone while you listen to music and do homework. All you need in order to multitask is to have all the technological devices needed. Many people consider technology as a positive change in our lives, because of the facilities it offers us. However, many other persons, like Christine Rosen, think that technology instead of improving our lives, it has only changed it negatively. Technology, in fact has provided us with many facilities, however such facilities are affecting our interactions with the physical space.
Technology has played a vital role in human progression over the past century, with new advancements like computers, smart phones, and orbiting satellites paving the way for a world more connected than ever before. The ease of accessing knowledge via these devices ensures that individuals can have the world at their fingertips, as any and all questions they may have can be answered in only a matter of seconds. Such a free flow of information requires little mental aptitude to understand and access, and some observers of this relatively new phenomenon are starting to ponder if technology is actually hurting us rather than aiding us. One such
However, this also discusses the effects of technology on various aspects of our everyday personal experiences, both with each other and with the world around us. On the other hand, technologies such as cell phones have become a problem in getting students to focus in class and distracting drivers and thus, resulting in vehicle accidents. Technology is beneficial, but can also become an inescapable distraction in our lives. It is important to view technology as having the ability to make our lives better or worse, yet also as having the ability to change our personal lives and behavioral patterns. The use of technology makes our daily tasks easier, such as a better sense of direction while driving via a GPS, safety features in our cars such as Auto Drive and Auto Park.
The opinions of many people vary on technology and the effects it has on today’s society. Some say that it’s more beneficial than anything, others completely disagree, and some have mixed emotions. Would you rather read out of a book, or play online learning games with a possible risk of eye problems? It’s about taking matters into your own hands. 71% of people believe technology has improved their lives. 76% of people completely disagree by saying that technology creates a lazy society and that is distracting and corrupting. Daily life with technology is also another huge issue in society. According to a survey taken in January 2013, people feel their work productivity has dropped 8% in the last year. They also felt that their relationships with their family at home dropped 4% in the past year. The opinions vary, but they are needed to show how technology is affecting different people.

The standard 21 year old adults have exchanged 250 thousand emails, spent 5 thousand hours video gaming and 10 thousand hours using their mobile devices (Lei, 2009). When people hear the word technology, they think of microwaves, televisions, cars, NASA, different types and transportation and more. For all that, technology has occurred long ahead these discoveries. Technology is an arguable matter amongst people. .In the old days, people lived an extremely simple life without technology. They used candles to light their houses and lanterns at the dark to travel, they used fire to cook and used newspapers and mail to share news. On the other hand, technology has seized an important place in our society. People are living in a stage of progressive technology. They are using all natural reserves applicable for making their lives better and easier. The society cannot picture life without electricity since it allows them to live through their everyday life. This paper argues that technology positively impacts people’s lives.

In reality, I believe that as the advancements of technology increase over the years, people will continue to be lazy and depend more on them. This will continue to cause our brains to be inactive and our laziness to become more active. There’s so much that we as people can do without the use of advancement technology, but as society continues to tolerate technology we will continue to use it. I agree with Robert M. Pirsig, “Technology presumes there’s just one right way to do things and there never is”. There is always another way to do something, but it is our choice to want to do it.
As technology advances, our society is able to advances also. Instead of tangle with how technology cause laziness or distracting us from what is important, it would better to think about how to use technology to make our life better.
There is no doubt that the accomplishments made through technology are astonishing. Technology has made amazing impacts on everything from science in space to medical science to the devices we use every day that make our lives easier. People are living longer and better than ever before, but we can’t forget how to live without it. “Just because technology is there and makes something easier doesn’t mean we should rely on it so much that we can’t think for ourselves,” (Levinson).
Although technology is great to help with our daily activities, technology is making us lazy. In today 's society instead of using books for our information, we tend to look thing up on the internet. Even teacher encourages their students to use the internet instead of reading. Also today people use their GPS for the everyday place they go instead of reading signs and learn their own way
Technology – as defined by the US National Academy of Science (cited in Jones 1996, p.17) –
Society has been impacted both negatively and positively by technology. As a result, every aspect of our lives has been influenced by technology. Hence, life is easier, yet it has taken away some of the enjoyment. For example, remember the days of less stress and more personal interaction, when there were no online messages, no emails, social media or cell phones. We have become excessively dependent on technology. As a result, we need to rely less on technology even though it has made learning fun, and business, daily tasks, work, travel, shopping, making new friends and staying in touch easier. In conclusion, technology has a lot of benefits, yet it could take over our lives and become our worst enemy if we aren't careful.
People can see the many positive effects of technology from different views of human life such as education, agriculture, personal safety, and the environment. But, not everyone considers the downsides while they play Call of Duty and check Facebook for what their friends are doing. Although technology does simplify people’s tasks and duties and make things much easier, it may weaken health, kill environments, and ruin the social, human interactive life that once was.
Technology is making our life easier than before, but are we getting too much dependent on it? Technology is getting improved by past decades. It has become a part and parcel in everyday life. Without it, people would have a lot of trouble to keep pace with the whole world. At the same time, todays new generations incredibly dependent on it. They do not want to use their brain as there are lots of search engines they can easily access and can find out what they want. Technology creates problems about pollution and global warming and at the same time people are using technology to reduce these problems. Overdependence on technology is harmful for humans’ existence because it creates addiction that makes people inactive, decrease job opportunities and causes physical or mental disorders that is a great threat for mans’ life.
