Teaching Philosophy Statement
Every year I have had a teacher who has always went that extra mile to make sure I thoroughly understood each and every lesson. For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to be a teacher; I want to be like all those teachers who helped me through the years.
One particular teacher who seems to stick out in my mind, is Mr. Scott Vargo. He taught 10th grade Biology and 12th grade Anatomy and Physiology, both of which I took. I have to say I've never met a teacher like him; his teaching style was extremely unique. Every student, who has ever walked through the door of his classroom, has walked out with a wonderful feeling of accomplishment because they walked away with knowledge. Every student Mr. Vargo has ever taught, has bragged on his enthusiasm and devotion to the subjects he teaches.
One reason students call him enthusiastic is because, instead of giving tests, he gives "Celebrations of Success." While passing out the test, he plays the song, "Celebrate!" Everyone down the hall knows when Mr. Vargo is giving a "Celebration of Success" because they hear the music echo throughout the classrooms. Mr. Vargo does not see his tests as a test of one's knowledge, but as a celebration for successfully learning new material. I have to agree with his viewpoint because not only is it a great way to look at tests, but it also takes the edge off the students by celebration rather than testing.
Even though I did not come out of that class with a perfect grade, the knowledge I gained was far more satisfying. By example and experience, Mr. Vargo showed me what it is like to be a great teacher and love doing so. He gave me the determination to be a humorous, compassionate, and well-educated teacher.
After reading about the direct teaching method, I thought that would be a great method to use. In my former high school, this method is used quite often; however, I continued reading about the other methods, and I had recalled these methods also being used.

An issue that is hotly debated is the topic of school uniforms. Now, there are two sides of this discussion. The Affirmative and the Negative. I am proud to say that I, Anna Huynh, Student of FMS, will not stand for school uniforms. If one had to choose, then I’d choose against because firstly, school uniforms emphasize conformity, not individuality, and do not let students build their identity. Secondly, Uniforms are much too expensive for those along the line of poverty. Thirdly, They do NOT stop bullying.
Schools around the world deal with the same conflicts about whether or not to fully restrict the student body from wearing inappropriate clothes. As this is addressed, students banter back with reasons why they are opposed to the idea of something new. There is a growing rate for uniforms in schools across the nation. School administration and school board advise this change, however many of the students and their parents have other viewpoints on the situation. Some may say uniforms are uncomfortable and take away freedom, while others say it brings equality and unites the school. Studies have shown the benefits of this requirement, such as raised academic rates and improved behavior among students. Thus, school uniforms must be implemented
In the movie The Matrix, Morphis says to Neo “I can only show you the door, I can’t open it for you.” The door that Morphis is talking about is this incredible vast knowledge that is unknown to Neo. What better person to show, to teach, to inform Neo than his teacher, Morphis. You see, I see myself as Morphis, the teacher, whenever I step into a classroom. As I look across the room, there isn’t just one “Neo”, but there are thirty or forty Neos. This is an extreme job for someone that understands how hard it is to open that door.
Photography has been around since the fifth century. Since then, this profession has advanced greatly throughout history. The word “photography” was created by a combination of Greek Root words, “photo”, meaning “light”, and “graphia”, meaning “writing” or “drawing”. We, as humans, have always been fascinated by the concept of being able to capture a moment within a picture and create a memory to keep and look back on. Photographs help us recall our past and can trigger different emotions from that memory. Photography has also changed the way many subjects are taught, for example, history is taught through visual representation, in particular, photos. Magazines and other media sources have converted teens’ priorities from their dedication to acquire knowledge into obsession over the latest trends. To combat this, educational institutions have begun to patrol the way the students dress. However, with the copious amounts of apparel available, it is impossible for teachers to govern each student’s attire using identical standards. In addition, personal judgement and perspective from teacher to teacher varies, perpetuating inequality amongst students. The solution to this problem is simple: replace strict dress codes with those that require consistent appearances. Uniforms allow students to focus on learning while promoting safety and professionalism, along with aiding each household economically.

Having students wear school uniforms can be fought over for centuries to come, and both sides of the issue, whether students should or should not wear school uniforms, can be very convincing and understandable. Some people might say that having students wear school uniforms can help them concentrate on their learning and leave clothing and fashion aside. Others argue, that having students wear school uniforms can leave students without having the feeling to express themselves about what they really think, like, or enjoy doing. This paper will argue that having students wear school uniforms, could be helpful to the students, change the ways students act, and can help decrease unwanted behavior among the students.

Children by nature are human sponges. They absorb information on many different levels, intellectually, emotionally, physically, etc. Their lives are mapped out by experiences, what they learn, and where they learn it. School is the first opportunity for children to learn, to experience, and to see where their lives are headed. All children have the right to an education. One that focuses on their individual needs and an education that will make them learn and feel good about themselves.
Our reality is inconsistent and unpredictable, space and time is fluid, not static photographic techniques will develop over time, something that plays such an complex role in our lives has to keep up with us, maybe we should append suggestions about whether photography is dying or is not truthful enough analogue and digital doesn’t need to always be representative of the real.
