For some people, their zodiac sign reflects their personality like a mirror. For others, it may seem like a massive load of garbage. In the Western astrology system, there are twelve signs, all with different characteristics and qualities. Being born in early May means I fall in the sign of Taurus. Taurus is both an Earth and a Fixed quality sign, which means that it is the least likely to be swayed by opinion or sudden changes in life. A few qualities of a Taurus include devotion, reliability, stubbornness, and practicality. These are traits that I have shown throughout my life.
One of the main Taurus traits is devotion. I consider myself to be wholeheartedly devoted to my religion and those I care about. Every morning after waking up, I

An unreliable person is nobody’s friend,” (Shah 57). People under the Taurus astrology sign are considered to be greatly reliable people. Reliability is a major part of my personality, and I have always strived to be a reliable person in life as a result of my father being unreliable while I was growing up. I once drove an hour from home to pick up my best friend when his car broke down in the middle of the night. I picked my brothers up from school every day and was always there for them to talk to. At one time or another, all of my college friends have come to me for advice and later told me that my advice has helped them in some form. I have sat up into the dead of night talking to people about their problems until a solution is found. When someone tries to disprove or attack my religion, I stand up for it and fight for what I believe is right. I aim to be reliable to my family, my friends, and to my …show more content…
Being both an Earth and Fixed sign basically means that I am “unmovable” in my morals and beliefs. I am hardheaded in the fact that when in an argument, I will continue to argue until the other person admits they are wrong. Even if I know I am incorrect, I pursue the argument just for the reason that I refuse to lose. When I squabbled with my father, I continued to argue for what I believed was right, despite the harsh and violent consequences. Although my inflexible views on life have gotten me into multiple arguments and predicaments, I refuse to change my beliefs or values to fit the opinions of others. I believe that everyone should remain true to themselves and not capitulate to popular trends or mainstream
The zodiac calendar is an astrological theory that divides the path that the sun seems to follow around the earth into twelve equal sections, each of which are associated with a sign, a symbol and a personality type. John Gardner embraces this astrological theme in his parallel novel, Grendel, by connecting each of the twelve chapters to its coinciding zodiac.
ARIES WITH TAURUS: The two are sensual. Aries could be disturbed by the routine pace of unadventurous Taurus. Taurus is domestically oriented. Aries is about exploring new ventures head first: Jump now and think later. Taurus is jealous and demanding and views Aries need for autonomy as dismissive. Taurus is talented in creating material wealth. However, Aries focuses is at the moment thus becoming a spendthrift. The big picture is often challenging. Aries will value Taurus’ steadiness and dependability and Taurus will value Aries’ energy and
PISCES WITH TAURUS: Taurus can supply security and stability for Pisces. Also, Taurus’ artistic nature awakens Pisces’ creative mind. Pisces will trigger Taurus’ desire in materials. Both are sensual and mellow. Pisces is more sensitive than Taurus. Taurus can be too practical for Pisces. Together this can be a very
The basic astrological assumptions are not hard to grasp. For if astronomy is the study of the movements of the heavenly bodies, then astrology is the study of the effects of those movements. The astronomers of the ancient world assumed a division of the universe whereby the superior, immutable bodies of the celestial worlds ruled over the terrestrial or sublunary sphere, where all was mortality and change. It was assumed that the stars had special qualities and influences which were transmitted downwards upon the passive earth, and which varied in their effect, according to the changing relationship of the heavenly bodies to each other. They were led to postulate a single system in which the seven moving stars or planet shifted their position in relation to the earth and each other, against a fixed backcloth of the twelve signs of the zodiac.

Many factors can shape a persons a personality, it could be their environment, peers, family, siblings, but one wouldn’t think that their birth order can too. The last factor will be the one topic I will be getting into more depth in this essay. Either being born first or last it will have a huge impact on your personality (Parents magazine 2006). The first to introduce the theory of the impact birth order has on personality was psychologist Alfred Adler in the early 20th century. This started a new interest in many on this research (Lesley Ogden 2013). His theory suggest the common personality traits each first, middle, and last borns have. Let me start off with the first born of the family and work my way down. The first born is the child the family “practices” on you could say. First time parents have no experience on parenting, and they want to try their best on raising a good child which causes them to be stricter. This causes them to put more pressure on the first borns to do better at everything they do. Which can make them become perfectionists and high achievers. But they want to be noticed and praised by their parents when they do well. This too however develops them to become leaders, especially if they have siblings their parents want them to set an example for (Brooks 1984). Independence, reliability, and respect for authority are other traits that this group may has. They are highly intelligent and get high qualifications in school. They can also be serious and very mature for their age. Because of this nature, this group tends to get along really well with their elders. The pressure of carrying responsibilities (and at times even being forced upon) at an early age can bring negative factors. For the reason that it c...
One of the most read sections in the paper today is the astrological page. Why is that? It's because people look for easy answers to their everyday problems. But most people would not believe that their horoscope was probably someone else's horoscope from the day before. People will try to make what they read really happen. So if your horoscope for today said that you are going to have a great day and you'll be in a good mood, you probably will have a day like that, only because you read it early in the day and that person who wrote that influenced you to try and actually make a great day for yourself. Coming from personal experience, one of my exgirlfriends read our horoscope on if we were going to be a long lasting couple. She was very much into the whole tarot card readings and into astrology. She would read them every day. I suppose you can already figure out what the horoscope said? Yes, it said that we weren't going to last.
Reliability is doing what you say you are going to do, when you say you are going to do it. If someone is reliable, you are able to depend on him or her at work or school. Working with someone who is reliable is working with someone whom you trust versus working with someone who is not dependable.
There are many factors that make your personality. One that is usually overlooked is birth order. Scientists have given traits to every child based on when they were born and most of them are correct. In The Birth Order Book by Kevin Leman stated,” Your birth order-whether you were first, middle, or later in the family-has a powerful influence on the kind of person you will be, the kind of person you will marry, the type of occupation you will choose, even the kind of parents you will be.” (3). Birth order is what makes someone who they are; these characteristics apply to almost every child depending when they were born in their family, but in rare cases, the child doesn’t act like the personality given to them by science.
Ellie Morsching Mrs. Oelke English 10 Honors 24 May 2024 Tamed In a time where women were expected to be silent and obedient, William Shakespeare writes to question the validity of such expectations. The Taming of the Shrew, written by William Shakespeare, is a complex storyline to follow, making it difficult for readers to decide whether Kate is being tamed or not. Katherina Minola is transforming from a headstrong, fiery woman to a more controlled woman of wife material due to her husband Petruchio. Katherine has been tamed because she is not always as crazy as people make her out to be, she is accepting, open, and wants love, and there are logical hints in the book that simply tell readers the truth about her tameness.
A Birth Chart and Interpretation or either a Horoscope and compatibility report cannot be accurate for everyone born under a specific Zodiac sign unless the Astrologer has accurate information about the time of birth, date of birth and place of birth. Place of residence is important in the casting of daily Horoscopes. Sometimes the time is not known and an Astrologer will use 12:01 P.M. which, while not as accurate as it should be, will put you as close to the target as possible. Without this information everything you read about your sign anywhere will be generalized information.

Learning personality types could be one of the best tools for self-improvement and relationship enhancement. By identifying the personality type, we may be able to extend our strength sides and enhance our weakness sides. Further more, assuming the personality type of your component in a relationship, could help a lot to tighten the relationship by eliminating the disagreement situations and concentrating more on the common shared behaviors. These seem to be the main objectives that have led several psychological specialist researchers to conduct many observation analytic experiments and studies during most of the 19th century and up to the present times. Other medical specialist researchers tried to use some personality types classifications as health indicators. Applying and assuming the personality type concepts on some close by relatives and friends should not be difficult, but would it be much helpful or acceptable.
