In the year 2001, a compressed natural gas (CNG) was launched. Shrimankar Gas Services India offered it as an option through OEM Bedini kits on the Indica V2 XETA.
From 28–31 May 2007, the Tata Motors organized a systematic recall after facing with the numerous CNG- related complaints and retrofit of Bedini equipment. This version included a new improved Lamda sensor/electronic control unit, Bedini emulator, and new wiring harness. This harness was approved and tested both Tata and Automotive Research Association of India. Tata Motors aims to improve gas delivery and performance with this new system.

It is called as a city car. The car is manufactured and sold in India. It was launched initially with a price tag of Rs. 100,000 i.e. US$ 1,500 and then it was increased with time. This car received much publicity as it was designed to draw India’s middle classes from two wheelers.
Tata Motors started development of an affordable car which would appeal many Indians who ride two wheelers. In the year 2005, Tata Motors successfully launched the low cost truck called Tata Ace. By dispensing the most non-essential features, the purchase price of the car was brought down. This purchase price was brought down by reducing the amount of steel used in the construction process and by relying on low cost Indian labour.
It received much media attention as the price of the car was very low at the introduction stage of the Tata Nano.
Expectations which were created before the car launch were not met after the realized success of the car. According to the study of the year 2008, by CRISIL the Indian rating agency, the nation’s car market would expand by 65% with the launch of Nano. But the news reports stated that the underwhelming response to the offering by the Indian customer remained steady at near 70,000 units as of late 2012. At Auto Expo, New Delhi, the Tata Aria was launched on 5th January 2010 and on 12th October 2010, it was launched for the customers. The price of the car was 1.5 million INR or $30 to $35K. The concept of this car is based upon the Tata Xover showcased in Geneva Motor Show in the year 2006. Also Tata Aria was a series of a concept cars introduced at Geneva Auto Show by Tata Motors in the year 2000.
The Tata Aria is a blended version of a sedan, an MPV and an SUV. It has a seating arrangement of three rows and the features such as dimming roof lamps, in-dash built in GPS, 3D surround sound, cruise control, infotainment system, dual air conditioning with automatic climate control and multifunctional steering wheel.
