In the twenty-first century, there are more and more technologies emerge in people’s daily life. There are lots of new technological devices are invented as well as different applications. Individuals do not need to bring a very heavy personal laptop to meetings and students do not need to wait for a long time for computers in libraries. Along with the developments of the economy, each family can afford some electronic devices and those devices no longer only can be used for entertainments. In the text, “Project Classroom Makeover”, Cathy Davidson, a faculty from Duke University, expresses her ideas and recognitions about new technologies’ impacts in classroom teaching. Almost everyone attends a school at one time in their life whether the classroom includes technology or not. Research shows that technology isn’t used as often as one might think. The article, “High Access and Low use of technology in High School Classrooms” illustrates the use of technology by stating that only one in ten of elementary and middle school teachers are daily users of computers (Cuban, Kirkpatrick, Peck). Most schools now have classrooms that use technology throughout the entire class time and even at home to do homework. Although some people might agree with the use of technology in class, it is more harmful to the students than useful. It can cause many distractions, it can be difficult to use and can take away from learning time.

For instance, a research had shown that about 78% of the tablet-owning parents let their kids under the age 11 play with the tablets in their homes, and there are 54% among these parents said that their children use tablets for educational purpose (Techvibes Newsdesk, 2013). Among those that did not allow their children play with tablet, there are 20% of them said that they will allow their kids to play if there are more educational content (Techvibes Newsdesk, 2013). From here, we can be analyse that the parents are demanding for more educational content in the tablet. This is also means that the current educations apps that available did not satisfied the demand of the consumers. Hence, this will be a very potential market for Ambang Mata to explore.
Technology is becoming more and more dominant in our society.Everyday upgrades are being made and new innovations are being discovered. Technology is all around us whether we want it to be or not: it is the vehicles we drive, it can be found in our homes, and can even be found in the grocery store.Every place we look there is some type of technology.I believe technology has had a major impact on our school systems and is still impacting it today. There are those who do not agree, though, that technology has impacted our schools.Eric Gormly writes, “In fact, many theorists point out the overall impact of technology on education has been quite small, manifesting little discernible change in the classroom.” [1]Yes, there are some schools that are not as advanced as others, but many of them do have a significant amount of technology in them.I find it fascinating that so much technology has been incorporated into our classrooms, but I believe that, even with all of the positive aspects that are associated with technology, there are some negative and even dangerous aspects that should be taken into account.I will be sharing some of the equipment that has been used in the schools, how both the students and the teachers use the equipment, and also the positive and negative effects that technology has had on our schools.
Tablets are also an unreliable source of education due to the fact that teachers cannot know if their students completed the assignment themselves, or if an online tool did it for them. When completing assignments on an electronic device, students have access to the Internet, which will provide students with immediate answers to any question they have. There will be no need for the student to analyze and read texts on their own because they can quickly search for specific topics and words by having the tablet do the work for them. Tablets also will increase the number of excuses available for student not doing their schoolwork. Some of these excuses may include “My tablet broke/froze” or “I couldn’t find my charger.”
This year Aldinville Primary, which is fourth school was joined to the project. Learners like to study through apps. The apps cause more mistakes of learners. It can encourage experimentation with the content and it is a change of lesson format. During the project MRP Foundation also help teachers. There are training sessions to improve the teachers’ technological skills and knowledge.
To begin with, before anyone can develop an opinion as to whether technology is a useful tool in the classroom, one needs to understand that technology plays an important role in today’s world. However, the use or over-use of technology in educating young children in teaching literacy to young children is a much debated theory. There are many opinions regarding the positive influence technology can have as a useful tool in the classroom, yet there are those, like myself, who also see the negative aspect of too much technology.
As more people began to access the Internet through smart phones and tablets rather than laptops and computers, it is not a surprise that they would also want to transform the American education system by bringing tablets into classrooms. In fact, a few schools around the country have already replaced textbooks with tablets and have seen improvements in students’ standardized test scores. Using tablets instead of textbooks is not only convenient and helpful, but it can also reduce the amount of paper wastes in school. However, it is not a good idea to completely transform textbooks with tablets with the current technology, for it can not only be damaging to the environment and costly to set up, but also might not be effective in improving K-12 education in the long run.
Today is an era of information explosion. In the past few years, many newly invented technological devices and software are now tightly integrated with our everyday lives. Today, people can look up almost any kind of information, make friends, communicate with others, and express ourselves with the simple touch of a button on a device we usually keep within arm’s reach. “Widespread use of technology is changing the way we work, learn, and communicate – even the way we carry out our regular, daily activities.”(Seifer and Mihalynuk) These devices not only benefit our livelihoods and increase our happiness, but they are also integral in advancing education, technology, development, and, in general, human evolution. The children of today, who have been raised in this era of information explosion, will undoubtedly reap such benefits and, in turn, advance society towards a better generation.
Technology has rapidly changed over the years and has expanded our infrastructure greatly. In particular, as technology advances the education system adapts to the many changes. The world of technology brings about many new improvements and shows no sign of slowing down. Many people spend their day to day lives utilizing the great aspects of technology doing almost anything imaginable. Through technology teachers and students can connect and expound upon the many fields of education. Technology is an ever growing aid in education that has increased awareness, communication, and accessibility. How is technology shaping education? The uses of mobile devices and applications have shown a great influence in the education system.
... all ages do not know how to write in cursive anymore. Some students may not know how to sign their name in cursive since it wont be taught anymore. One thing that many people worry about with digital learning is that students will spend too much time in front of a screen and keyboard. It is believed that these kids will have less of a social life and will be less likely to communicate through talking, but choosing to communicate through online messaging and texting. Though students have a variety of information at their finger tips, this can cause temptation for students to plagiarize. Devices such as iPads and laptops are useful learning tools, but at the same time they can be a huge source of distractions. While students should be taking notes, they could be browsing the web, updating social media sites, watching videos, playing games or other distracting things.
