Schools these days don’t get the fill funding they need to keep everything from sports to teachers needed to keeping up with today's technology. Receiving money to help keep all of that in exchange for a little advertising is a must in the world we live in today.
Today it’s hard for schools to stay running with all extra activities that kids need for various reasons, one as being staying in shape for sports. Schools often have to cancel school activities just to stay running as a school for the purpose of educating, schools “have been forced to get rid of music, sports, and some educational programs in order to make ends meet” (Source B). Schools need this funding to keep these extra activities for the kids. Yes schools should only be for

Schools need to stay with the technology for kids because it's expanding so fast. “Advertising in schools gives a district the chance to upgrade their equipment, their curriculum, and their facilities so that modern technology can be part of the current educational process” (Source C). Lets face it, technology helps everyone one out in every way, making things go faster than ever, so it's a must need of schools today. Yes it influences how kids learn, “If an oil company had sponsorship cash invested into a school district, for example, it may want the schools to discuss more about how their industries work to save ocean life from drilling activities instead of the possibilities of increased earthquakes happening in a fracking region” (Source C). It can alter things more important to what the curriculum was set to teach. But, it also lowers the burden of taxpayers, especially the ones who are struggling already. The tax is small but: “Although this levy percentage is often small, between 1-2% in many communities, that can be a burden on some households. After all, 1% of a $100,000 home is $1,000.”(Source C). It helps everyone out when you don’t have to pay those extra taxes when you could be saving it up for more important things around your life. It helps everyone when companies donate especially the community when they
Let’s look at things from a wider perspective if you will. I believe that schools should be responsible for providing and funding before and after school programs. The reason
The improvements made by public schools should not be discounted, either. While there are certainly schools and school districts that remain very troubled those administrators and schools boards are not standing idly by. There are continuous improvements in such schools, and there needs to be even more. Taking money from them when efforts are being made to improve their condition will clearly on hinder such improvement. Private schools are and should remain an option for all parents, but our society mustn't waver when it comes to supporting our public schools.
School funding is a recurring issue in the modern era. Debates ranging from give schools more money, to get rid of the system in place and reform a new idea have been plaguing the world over the years. “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, signed in 2009, provided more than $100 billion in education aid to offset budget cuts..” (School Finance). Later, “Congress provided an additional $10 billion in 2010 to avert mass teacher layoffs (Education Week, "Total Recovery Act")” (School Funding). These numbers are just a sample of the struggles in school funding, that is costing a ton of money to keep afloat. “There are many ways schools fund varying from state to state and even school to school. Income taxes, corporate taxes, sales taxes, and other fees provide 48 percent of the elementary and secondary school funds. 44 percent of local districts draw money from local property taxes. The federal government makes up approximately 8 percent of state education budgets. These funds are a dealt out on a per-student basis, and categorically to ensure enough resources for each special program or facility” (School Funding). These funds play a huge role in every student's education, either positive or negative. The three main areas that need to be addressed in the school budget are extracurricular funding, building and equipment maintenance, and last but not least staff funding.
Schools are where we spend half of our lives at, our kids are spending time and energy in these places to become better people in the future. There is absolutely no reason why budget cuts should ever happen in a school. If the country is taking taxes from all of the citizens than they should be conscious to spend that money on things that matter like our children. Making budget cuts takes away programs for kids to excel in and makes a child harder to express himself. Arts are usually the first programs to be cut.
The reason that some schools can’t do things like buy computers and maintain their buildings to begin with is because the school funding system is so ineffective. The US government pays only 7% of all school money, and the rest is up to the states and the tax payers. Whatever money the states won’t pay is paid as school tax, part of your property taxes, which are higher or lower depending on how much your home is worth. But this means that schools in poor neighborhoods get little money while wealthy schools, like ours, get nearly all they need. You don’t see any leaky roofs in our school.
Many people want us to believe that the problem with school lies not in the idea of public education, but in the way public schools are managed and funded...
Proper school funding is one of the keys to having a successful school. Americans believe that funding is the biggest problem in public schools. School improvements revolve around funding. There needs to be funding not only in the successful schools but also the schools that aren’t doing as well. In documentary, Waiting for Superman, it talks about how smaller class sizes will help students. Funding is what will help the smaller class sizes. State funding mechanisms are subject to intense political and economic scrutiny (Leonard). Studies have shown that funding is inversely related to accreditation levels (Leonard). School funding needs to be increased, but there must be accountability as well.
Technology is becoming more and more dominant in our society.Everyday upgrades are being made and new innovations are being discovered. Technology is all around us whether we want it to be or not: it is the vehicles we drive, it can be found in our homes, and can even be found in the grocery store.Every place we look there is some type of technology.I believe technology has had a major impact on our school systems and is still impacting it today. There are those who do not agree, though, that technology has impacted our schools.Eric Gormly writes, “In fact, many theorists point out the overall impact of technology on education has been quite small, manifesting little discernible change in the classroom.” [1]Yes, there are some schools that are not as advanced as others, but many of them do have a significant amount of technology in them.I find it fascinating that so much technology has been incorporated into our classrooms, but I believe that, even with all of the positive aspects that are associated with technology, there are some negative and even dangerous aspects that should be taken into account.I will be sharing some of the equipment that has been used in the schools, how both the students and the teachers use the equipment, and also the positive and negative effects that technology has had on our schools.
...mpared to privately funded school sizes. According to (NCES) the average school size for a central city, state-funded school is 1,083 compared to 398 in privately funded school. That means teachers will have an even harder time giving a state-funded the same one on one time when compared to the privately funded school. Since the education is not equal to private schools should be abolished.
The word will get out of the sponsors and more people would love to use them for it. In high school is where everything gets around, all the talk starts. If they post advertising at the schools if one person sees it then there group will go look at it, then another group, by that time they will go home and talk to their parents and family about it. When something new lie that happens there is a big chance it will be able to be on the school newspaper. Lets say an advertisement was going to go out of business, hanging up posters at popular places like schools it will help them out and spread the word; there would be a greater chance of not losing their business. Its not all about helping out the schools it can also help out the
In week 4 lesson, we had learned about type of advertising in advertising industry. There are many type of advertising in the world, not only few types. In fact, advertising is a large industry. Different types of advertising have different function and playing different role in this advertising industry. There are seven major types of advertising that we often see and hear. The first type is brand advertising, which is the most common type of advertising we usually see at Television or listen at radio. There are many brand advertising in Malaysia, for example acer brand advertising. Brand advertising is focus on development of a long term of brand image and identity. The second type of advertising is retail or local advertising, this type
Most of these new technological advances aren’t cheap. Technology has brought the price of schools to higher levels, forcing the budget of schools and students to be changed. These plans are very well thought out and work in accordance to many of the programs the government has already set-up for schools.
current technology than the school’s staff. Teachers in turn are placing emphasis on the schools to improve technology they want to increase efficiency of information sharing, grading, and communication in the classroom. Businesses place an emphasis on technology in schools so that the schools adequately prepare their future employees, the students. The government is also placing pressure on schools to improve technology in the classrooms so that Americans can compete, along with helping prepare successful employees to help improve the economy in the future. These pressures are welcomed however, as schools are eager to improve their current use of technology in the classroom.
Public school education system is important and should be taken very seriously. It is the starting foundation to each and every one of our lives. Our educators, lay down the pathway for education.. In today’s world, teachers play a big role in building America. They are the ones who encourage our children to excel into their greatest self. Without teachers, society would face a drastic downfall. There would not be many professions around. Doctors would be unable to save the lives of our friends and families. There would not be any police officers to protect and serve, nor there be a president to lead this country. The public school education system, as a whole, is something that has been over looked for some time. While other professions are progressing in life, the Public Education System, in general, is staying the same. Teaching is not an easy job. The hours are long, the demands are high, and the working conditions are often challenging .Given the conditions, in which, this profession is carried out, a better financial plan is needed to accommodate for the, unbalanced, priority.
Technology in education is a touchy subject in the United States. Many parents believe that technology will only hurt their child in future, while some believe that technology will help their child. Parents have to be open and must allow themselves, to see what is happening before they make their decision.
