The number 451 is significant in the forenames line of work because that is the temperature at which books burn and the firefighters job is to burn books. the introduction The author indicates that Montag has a daring streak in his character by letting us see into his imagination and how he loves to burn books, and how he never thought for a second that those books were art that told stories of the past. Montag has symbols of a salamander and a phoenix on his clothing to represent that he is a fireman and that he is unaffected by the effects of fire like these creatures. The medical help given to Mildred is blood replacement and stomach cleaning to remove the toxins from her over dose. The electronic thimble earpieces are nice canceling earphones and the televisors make a tv that can be on multiple walls(the Montag’s is three sided). The Mechanical hound is an eight legged robot built to resemble a dog, it lives in the firehouse. Montag interacts with it when he go downstairs to smoke a cigarette. He touched the muzzle and the hound became inferiated and attacked him. The mechanical hound’s attack toward Montag is significant because that is not what the hound is trained do and the fact that it has done it before and only to Montag gives the impression the hound is evolving by itself. When the team is called to a fire in an old home they find a woman who is in the building and start interrogating her. She was not saying anything until she quoted a book “Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by god’s grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out”(33).
