On average two new brews are released in the taproom every month as the varietals rotate through the menu alongside the permanent offerings that are the flagship beers (Graffiti House West Coast Style IPA, Gold Cup Russian Imperial Stout, Chukker Czech Style Pilsner and six others). What the separation of production and tasting areas also accomplishes is to allow the area not to take on solely the aura of a drinking establishment. According to Julie “we wanted [the taproom] to be a place to hang out, where the community can come and have fun.” From our group’s experience, she accomplishes that, and the community embraces it as a multi-generational meeting place that may or may not involve alcohol consumption. Two Silos Brewing company in Bristow is the centerpiece of the large Farm Brew Live campus at the high traffic intersection of Routes 28 and 234, three miles south of Manassas Town Center. It is a venue with a brewery anchor, but its growing set of offerings (new distillery and restaurant opening in 2018) lift it to a different level of the sector that our other brewers. Capacity at the campus is the largest of the brewers sampled, and the long-serving hours give testament to the focus on the tasting room and entertainment options. In addition to a small stage in the main tasting room, there is a large tented space adjacent to the main area where more popular musical acts can be …show more content…
Like OBH, Wort Hog Brewing Company takes advantage of a re-purposed building, having devoted some of the $2.5M initial investment to the conversion of a long-closed commercial garage one block south of the main street. Wort Hog’s brewing capacity is approximately 50% of that of Bust Head, and the 4 main hospitality areas (roof-top, mezzanine, patio and main tap room/bar) can accommodate nearly three-hundred patrons. Wort Hog’s current production is sufficient to supply a growing number of local restaurant/bar taps, but no bottled beers are expected to be produced until the facility is expanded. Food is available through an on-site barbecue sub-contract, but phase two of the facility includes a kitchen to allow an expanded food service operation. As is the case for all brewers we spoke to, the number one goal of Wort Hog’s production team is the consistency of the product. The brew master is Jeremy Hunt, and he has succeeded at some of the nation’s most highly regarded brewers. These include Deep Ellum in Dallas, and Ipswich Ale Brewery on Boston’s north shore (25K BBL annual production ). Mr. Hunt came to Wort Hog from the position of head brewer at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery Incorporated in Milton, Delaware, a craft beer industry leader distributing in 30 states as of 2017. Jeremy’s joining Wort Hog is indicative of

As RAs Johnson and Smith passed them they saw what appeared to be several cans of alcohol being carried as well as an apparent motion to hide what was being carried. Johnson and Smith confronted the residents asking them to stop and talk with us. Each resident was carrying approximately 3 beers either openly or in bags.

Let me take you back about 10 years, back to the year 2006. On any given Friday night, you could find me getting ready to meet my friends at Sportsmen’s. My friends and I always dressed to impress when hitting our favorite hot spot or as we liked to refer to Sportsmen’s as Headquarters. Knowing I would be going to Sportsmen’s filled me with excitement and anticipation. Walking into Sportsmen’s would always put a smile on my face, because I was greeted as soon as I would open that door. The people there were so friendly and ready to have some clean fun. Of course, every bar has their regulars. I was proud to be one of them. Now Sportsmen’s is a quaint little one story building. It is clean but smoke fills the air. (The no smoking law hadn’t been passed in Harlingen yet.) The interior is dimly lit. There is a large wooden bar at the far back wall
