The Hunger games is quite an entrancing title for any scholarly or artistic work. It evokes a lot of curio in any reader. The novel ‘Hunger Games’ is a trilogy or a three interconnected scholarly work set in country named Panem which was once North America but destroyed by catastrophic events. The plot takes place after the fall of civilization of North America. The country has 12 districts which are in poverty ruled by a capitol which is not only rich but also technologically advanced. Significantly, the Hunger Games have been annually held for 73 times thereby making it hard for anything to change. Furthermore, the capital ruthlessly forces the children to participate in the tournaments and also expects everyone to watch the television so that no one may ever think of rebelling against the capitol. In addition, the gift of food and resources to one district where the victor hails from is just to blind the masses so that they do not live in the reality of the oppression. After being hurt when blowing out the supplies of careers, she is welcomed by witnessing rue being killed. Katniss though initially tender kills her friends’ killer and then publicly rebels against the ruling elites of the Capitol by singing dirges to her deceased friend. Furthermore, she adorns her cadaver with flowers. This was an open act of defiance that hardly escaped the curious eyes of the citizens watching. This was builds on the theme of revolution.
