By doing so, students will have someone to lean on and someone to go through school with. With that being said, friends will be there during valuable and rough times, and the important concept is that kids chose the right friends to be there. This leading onto the fact that not every person in high school is a kind, person who cares for others feelings. The Huffington post states, “ Have good, trustworthy friends with the same values as you who aren’t going to create trouble or unnecessary drama.” With this being said students should surround themselves with generous people who have the same values as they do. Therefore, teenagers should love their group of friends, yet they should make sure they choose the right people to surround themselves
Making the transition from middle school to high school is a huge stepping stone in a teenager’s life. High school represents both the ending of a childhood and the beginning of adulthood. It’s a rite of passage and often many teens have the wrong impression when beginning this passage. Most began high school with learning the last thing on their mind. They come in looking for a story like adventure and have a false sense of reality created through fabricated movie plots acted out by fictional characters. In all actuality high school is nothing like you see in movies, television shows, or what you read about in magazines.
Anxiety. Regret. Frustration. Restlessly glancing at the clock, cringing every time I do. Staring at a blinking cursor, waiting for inspiration. Spending a restless night trying to squeeze out something to turn in the next day. This is a process known all too well by me, and most high schoolers in America, one known as: Procrastination. Procrastination is something easily avoided, and yet, seems to be one of the biggest causes for low grades in most students’ lives. It’s a tempting prospect, putting off your responsibilities to do something enjoyable, but it should be avoided at every possibility. Procrastination causes your grades to suffer, causes your mental health to suffer, and causes you to learn bad habits for the future.
Walter Kirn successfully unearths some of the worst aspects of senior year. However, these reasonings are not sound enough to condone the discontinuation of it. Any issues found are the fault of the student or the school administration, not the grade level itself. Senior year is worth holding on to for both the persistence of learning and for solidifying relationships. Kirn mentions with pleasure his choice to leave high school early. Nonetheless the four year high school experience should not be demoralized by those who wish to value it for the irreplaceable opportunity it is.
According to Rebecca Klein from the Huffington Post, “Approximately 87 percent of [the 13,000 polled students] said they procrastinate on school assignments.” Many of which spend their time on social media and watching television (Huffington Post). Procrastinating is the action of delaying or postponing any action and similarly, a college student defines it as putting off an assignment until the very last possible moment to complete it. As a result of procrastination, students often pull all nighters in order to finish their assignment, which then causes a massive amount of preventable stress. Additionally, the quality of the work may not reach its full potential and will result in a lower grade because of the lack of time that was allotted, which also could have been preventable. Due to this, students may potentially fail because they will experience difficulty in keeping up with their school work. Procrastination stems from the bad habit of being lazy, but much like any other habit, it is extremely difficult to break out of it because of how accustomed students grow into it over time. In order to break free from this detrimental routinely act, one must get a grip of themselves, focus their mind on what is important, and eliminate all unnecessary distractions. By breaking free from their unhealthy habit of procrastination, students will surely perform better in their academics in order to achieve

Friendships are based on a completely different set of structural relationships to those with parents. They are more symmetrical and involve sharing and exchange. Friendships are important to young children but there is a change at the beginning of adolescence -- a move to intimacy that includes the development of a more exclusive focus, a willingness to talk about oneself and to share problems and advice. Friends tell one another just about everything that is going on in each other's lives... Friends literally reason together in order to organise experience and to define themselves as persons.

Procrastination is a concept that is very relatable and real that if you ask anyone in the world whether they’ve ever procrastinated in their life, undeniably their answer will be yes. It’s been dubbed as normal and has been accepted by several procrastinators as a part of their life. Per the Merriam-Webster dictionary normal is defined as “conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern” (Merriam-Webster 2017). As a high school/early college student there shouldn’t be any room for procrastination because of the many seminars that talk about time management and accepting responsibility and pride for your work. I procrastinate daily. It’s become a natural part of my life that my schedule is now based around doing my work on the last possible day that it’s due. I might procrastinate the entire week but I can never relax because in the back of my mind I know that I have work to complete. Procrastination is a form of relief if several tasks are piling up, but in the long run procrastinating is only putting off the inevitable that will end up as a poor job.
