‘“Survival can be summed up in three words - never give up. That 's the heart of it really. Just keep trying,” said Bear Grylls. Unlike other animals, humans are unique and irreplaceable can do many things that other species can’t do. From the second a human being like creature has formed, there are always ways for humans to survive, not matter under what circumstances. Despite all the natural disasters , humans have found ways to survive.
Modern humans have been on this planet, for approximately 200,000 years, while our ancestors have been around for about six million years. “...and the ancestors of modern humans may have survived because of traits such as large brains that helped them adapt to unstable, shifting landscapes...”

Our bodies are regulating temperature, fluid levels, breath and heartbeat…” (Rhinehart 1). Sense of taste, human don’t like bitter flavor, we like sugar or sweetness. Fight, human body can react to danger quickly. Living through extremes, the entire human body is designed to go into action when it senses danger. Why do humans survive? It’s a nature thing, our genes wants to pass on, like Ava Glass said, “Because the ones that didn 't aren 't alive anymore.” To explain, if all human like creature go extinct, we won’t be able a pass on the intelligent things humans …show more content…
It might seem that is true, but most people choices to live. But what are the reasons that lead to those people to commit suicide, that is the key. “Nikki Allinson is a great example of how some students who have been bullied can turn their experience into a passion for helping others… and is now an advocate and leader for the Anti-Defamation League, a non-profit organization working to reduce biased-based bullying in schools” (Rizkalla 1). Most people who commit suicide think not only their problems are unsolvable, but also they feel completely out of control. Of course that is not true, there are a lot of people that are willing to help. We first need to understand what is the problem, and tell them suicide is not an option, life is
Around 1.8 million years ago, two hominids were born, first the Homo Erectus and then the Neanderthals. Although the two very different humans. However, were they that different? Our ancestors were very versatile hominids. They lived in various places and lived in a variety of ways. The Homo Erectus and Neanderthals were all special in their ways. They had similarities and differences that set them apart. They had similarities, but in the same way, their differences helped them survive if they had not adapted to how they lived they would have lasted the same time that their ancestors have lived. The Neanderthals lived for an average lifespan 30 years. They had to have some mistake that decreased their lifespan because if the Homo Erectus had done the same, there’s a chance that we might not be here now. Their differences set the future that we live in today. These
Suicide due to bullying has been given the name of bullycide. One example of bullycide would be Jon Carmichael from Texas who was bullied so harshly that “one day they stripped him naked, tied him up, and stuck him in a trash can, and they taped it with their cell phones and put it all on You Tube” per his mother’s account (Texas Monthly, Hollandsworth). A few days later Jon was found hanging by a rafter from their barn after committing suicide. The perpetrators of this abuse were his fellow classmates and it is reported that “60% of boys who bullied others in middle school had at least one criminal conviction by the age of 24; 40% had three or more convictions” (van der Valk, 41). Bullying behavior not only negatively affects the victims that are singled out and tormented, but from a legal perspective can lead to long term criminal
Survival, a life or death situation, one wrong move and you could die. It’s hard to remain calm in these situations, but some can do it. Lee had to escape from North Korea, Ralston was trapped alone under a rock, and Rainsford was being hunted alive, they survived from three things. It took Lee’s courage, Ralston’s Endurance, and Rainsford’s Intelligence to show they were survivors.
“Once I got teased, I could see where the anger came from and what can make someone want to kill,” said Stefan Barone, a fourteen year old. (ABC News) The anger and depression is overwhelming and hard to control. There is no doubt that bullying cause’s suicide, and those bullied often commit acts of violence against others.
Approximately 24% of 12-17 year olds have considered suicide and up to 10% have attempted suicide.” (Suicide Intervention Training PG 3). Teens today are very likely to commit suicide for various reasons. In today’s society there are a lot of judging and bullying cases around the world. No matter how much we promote a bully free zone there will always be a couple of cliques, or individuals, who want to bring others down and who do not know the seriousness of bullying. Although bullying is a big cause of suicide, the leading cause is a mental illness that many people are familiar with called depression. “Psychiatric disorders can affect diverse aspects of an individual’s life.”( Dispelling Myth Surrounding Teen Suicide, PG 1). If you or someone you know seems down most of the time, the best thing to do is to go see someone about your despair. If you are diagnosed with depression, prescribed depression medicine can help and can be one way to prevent suicidal thoughts or actions. “There is a lot of evidence that suicide is preventable.”(Cont. Principles of Suicide Prevention, PG
...f someone has expressed ideas of suicide and feeling alone, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This is a toll-free call that connects to the nearest crisis center, 24 hours a day. If someone see’s someone else being bullied, always tell an adult that can help. Tell some like a teacher, a counselor, or a parent. Prevention is the number one way to lower bullying and school violence.
According to Darwin and his theory on evolution, organisms are presented with nature’s challenge of environmental change. Those that possess the characteristics of adapting to such challenges are successful in leaving their genes behind and ensuring that their lineage will continue. It is natural selection, where nature can perform tiny to mass sporadic experiments on its organisms, and the results can be interesting from extinction to significant changes within a species. Human beings are no exception to biological evolution. Like other organisms around the world, humans have significantly changed over time and have developed all sorts of diverse characteristics.
My friend, Kevin, was just two short months away from graduating high school, but he never got to see that day because of bullies. No one had a clue; he had a remarkable family and a great group of friends. He did everything he could to leave a smile on everyone’s face, and he earned the nickname, “Cheeks,” because of his huge, friendly smile. No one understood why such a cheerful person would want to take his own life, but it was because bullies harassed him for months, and no one knew. According to the Center for Disease Control, “Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year” (Bullying and Suicide). Bullying is an ongoing issue that seems to evolve rapidly, and the world of
“The scientific study of how humans developed did not begin until the 1800s in Europe. Until that time, people relied on religious explanations of how humans came into existence. Starting in the 1500s a scientific revolution began to sweep Europe. Thinkers started using scientific methods and experiments to try to better understand the world and the creatures living in it. Eventually these methods were turned to the question of human origins” (The Nature Of Human Origins, 1). Earth made it possible for species to change over time because Ancient Earth provides ability to plenty of time. The Homo Sapien a is very complex creature. The species started off very simple by living in caves and surviving with little food and then later evolved into a species that were able to do many more complex things. The first species was Sahelanthropus tchadensis They were one of the most simple humans in that time period and on. They had very small skulls compared to Homo Sapiens today and their motor skills were just the same. We have evolved and changed for the better both mentally and physically. The Evolution of Homo Sapiens started off simple, such as the Neanderthals, and now we are the most advanced species to ever walk the planet so far.
Survival is indeed a word that can change a human’s perspective on what they need to do to remain alive. In order to survive, people have been known to go to great lengths and to do things they would not ordinarily do. I have noticed this throughout my life by watching movies, and reading books. Most of the time, it is the main character who comes face to face with death, and does anything to keep themselves alive. I have set up a few great examples that show’s people in their survival situations, and what they will do to get out alive.
Are we still evolving? How do humans and apes share a common ancestor? Modern human species or Homo sapiens have shown great similarities in the physical and genetic makeup to another group primates species, the apes. Both organisms share a common ancestor dating back eight to six million years ago. Evolution means change over time. Human evolution is the process by which humans have emerged from apelike ancestors. Through sequences of mutations, genetic drift, migration, and natural selection and technology we are able to observe the amazing amount of similarities and diversity of humans to other living organisms. Humans have roamed the earth for about six million years. At least, that is from when the oldest human ancestor was discovered.
Dinosaur extinct 105 million years after Jurassic period. By the Eocene, 50 million years ago, the climate had grown cooler and drier, so animals like tapirs had appeared. In the last million years ago, during the extreme cold of the Pleistocene period, Mammoths were common and roamed throughout Western Europe. II. If all human living today descended from the single couple, Adam and Eve, how do you explain the large differences between the peoples of the earth in such a short period of time?
For most people, survival is just a matter of putting food on the table, making sure that the house payment is in on time, and remembering to put on that big winter coat. Prisoners in the holocaust did not have to worry about such things. Their food, cloths, and shelter were all provided for them. Unfortunately, there was never enough food, never sufficient shelter, and the cloths were never good enough. The methods of survival portrayed in the novels Maus by Art Spieglmen and Night by Elie Wiesel are distinctly different, but undeniably similar.
Know how to climb out of the thoughts that you have in your mind. Do not ever give up no matter what (National Geographic). All the different types of survival is a survival situation. The hardest type of survival is life. The reason why the hardest type of survival is life because people are living it, and there is only one way to escape this and that is to die.
Being a victim of bullying can be linked to suicidal thoughts as well as behavior in adolescents. Other causes might also include having family problems at home, problems at work, school and or with school peers. Suicide is a serious problem, though it not only affects the victim, but it also affects family members, loved ones, along with friends. Suicide in adolescents is the third-leading cause of death in the United States between the ages of 10 and 19 (National Center for Health Statistics, 2012, 292). More adolescents who think about attempting suicide are mostly the ones who are unsuccessful at it.
