The personal development plan is an essential technique to improve professionally. It enables me to know my skills and capabilities in order to attain personal objectives. It also enables me to know what steps are needed to improve in areas which demand such developments. Below are some techniques which can be applied to access the results obtained from the personal development plan against personal work objectives.
Review and Monitor
It is essential to monitor and review the plan after it has been done. This is needed in order to identify the areas which need to be improved. In my case, one way to monitor it is by comments and feedbacks and it could be from anyone, colleagues, senior managers, family or friends. This would help me to know whether the plan has actually developed my communication, presentation, self-learning and multi-tasking skills to name a few or not. Self-reviewing is also an essential tool in order to assess the proposed plan. For example, if after reviewing there are still issues or weaknesses, a new plan which can be attained could be made. Also, if ever the proposed skills listed in the “PDP” which has to be developed cannot be successful for some reasons, then another way to make it work again could be to extend the time period and through frequently recording actions/activities which are done would help to be effective in attaining particular goals and developing those skills. This method has helped me in identifying things which was acting as a “hazard” to me to improve skills and also help me in identifying ways of better developing my skills. Nicholls (2014) believes that reviewing the plan enables someone to know and recognise the difficulties in developing the
In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, Huck experiences many situations which require him to use his moral judgment. During the entire adventure, Huck is essentially in charge of the fate of Jim. Huck’s taught beliefs lead him down the wrong path in the beginning, but eventually –until Tom arrives- his newly developed morals guide him. Society believes that slaves should be treated as property, but Huck’s new beliefs tell him that Jim is a person; not property. Though Huck does not realize that his actions are more moral than those of his environment, he chooses to follow his instincts rather than to follow the rules. As shown in The Adventures of Huck Finn, as well as events of my own daily life, I believe that while external environment has a small impact on our beliefs and identities, every individual fully develops their own morals without regard to what their environment taught them.

The development planning process “refers to a system to retain and motivate employees by identifying and helping to meet their development needs” (Noe, 2013). This process can be used in the internal hiring process. When brining internal employees into the supervisor training program this process will motivate the employees so they will continue to grow within the company. The morale of the overall company will improve when employees are chosen internally for the supervisor training program. This process has four steps to it; they are self-assessment, reality check, goal setting, and action planning. Self-assessment identifies the improvement that is needed from the employee. The company can provide testing that shows the strengths, weaknesses, interest, and values of the employee. Reality check is when the employee determines which of the needs can be developed realistically. The company can create a performanc...

The personal plan has enabled me to track myself on my developmental changes that are important for my achievement of set goals. Planning has also allowed me to keep track of all the steps that I will need to acquire skills and knowledge. I have also been able to see that if I continue in my current method I will not achieve all of my goals and through techniques such as SWOT analysis I have identified these areas and begun to create methods to fix this problem. The basic purpose of this essay is to point out my personal and professional skill development because these two areas are interwoven.
Furthermore, I have acquired a set of personal and professional gains as a result of completing the thesis that includes the development of a critical mindset, improvement of my writing and time management skills and enhancement of the level of my
