“My love, she keeps me warm.” Without context, these song lyrics have no impact or power behind them. However, if told that these words were sung by a female vocalist, and preceded by the lyrics “I can’t change, even if it tried, even if I wanted to,” suddenly the words have meaning as a woman sings of her love for another woman (Haggerty, Lewis, Lambert, 2102). These lyrics come from the 2012 song “Same Love” by Macklemore with Ryan Lewis and featuring Mary Lambert. In the song “Same Love,” Macklemore raises his voice against the issues of discrimination, gay rights, and marriage equality that we see in today's era. He uses two fallacies in the song, but Macklemore’s use of the three rhetorical appeals of ethos, pathos, and logos in his song “Same Love,” have a great level of success in proving the importance of gay rights and marriage equality.
And now that all of you look up to me I can’t let you down
Have you ever wanted to be a superhero? In the story, “Superman and Me” by Sherman Alexie, he creates an extended metaphor to show the reader the connection between superman and himself. Sherman Alexie and Superman have many similarities. They were both considered weird and strange by society. The reason for this was that Superman failed once and everybody thought he wasn't good enough. They both want to save lives together for the better. Superman and Alexie are breaking down doors, saving lives, and making sure to keep their confidence and stay strong.
I couldn't stop thinking about what Gretchen texted me. Does Oliver like me? Like as a girl-friend or a girlfriend? Because if we're being completely honest here, the idea of dating my best friend freaks me out! You aren't supposed to date friends, you're supposed to smack him upside the head when he checks out girls who you know aren't good for him, or force him to watch the bachelor with you or-
The re-invasion of pop music has brought out the theme of love and relationships even more so then ever. If a songwriter has “writer’s block”, then the simple solution is to write a love song. “All I want is you (Come over here baby). All I want is you (You make me go crazy)... I‘m gonna love you right...” (Aguilera), is part of the chorus to Christina Aguilera’s song “Come on Over”. The attraction to this song to girls is in thinking that they could be in the situation of the female character in the song, finding the perfect guy and spending time with him. For guys, the attraction comes because a beautiful girl is singing this and they can pretend that she is singing to them. Something similar is also found in the song “Doesn’t Really Matter” by Janet Jackson. In this song she is stating all the things she loves about a certain individual. She can live with his imperfections and doesn’t care what anyone else cares. “Doesn’t really matter what the eye is seeing. Cause I’m in love with the inner being. And it doesn’t really matter what they believe. What matters to me is you’re nutty, nutty, nutty for me.” (Janet Jackson) This song is good in that it is a love song unlike many out there today. In this song we see that the main character loves her man because of who he is.
During the chorus of the song, the line ‘I know you want it’ is repeated multiple times (Sociological Images.) This is a phrase that many sexual assault victims have reported that their rapists say. This is a ra...
I jumped over dem’ walls with the vertical leap of 10 Kobe Bryant's. Metal gates can't keep love out. Whatever a dude n’ love can do, his love’ll make him try. Yo’ family ain't bout’ to get in da way

Musically, “I’ve Got a Woman” is a fast-paced, bouncy blues number, featuring Charles singing with drums, a bass, and a small swing band section backing him up, with a brief instrumental break featuring a saxophone solo. Lyrically, Charles is praising
Sexy Bitch also knew as Sexy Chick in a clean version. The lyric saying means things that she is a very kinky girl, the kind you don’t take home to mother. She will never let your spirits down, once you get her off the street, owe girl.
Sometimes I think I’m in love with Savannah Cotten, only sometimes though because she pretends that she doesn’t know who I am whenever I see her in public because I don’t go to the big school yet. But, I do think I love her when she comes over to babysit me every single Thursday night while Momma plays bridge with Mrs. Rogers down the street.
