Main Character: The main character is Teddy. Supporting
Characters: There are many supporting characters. They are
Teddy’s mom; his sister, Nora; his neighbor, Anita; his
friend, Bryan; his turtle, Mr. Hush; and Anita’s cat,
Cassandra. Favorite Character: My favorite character is
Teddy because he always has his Super-Duper Cape. He is
usually shy except when he is wearing his cape. Summary:
Teddy is a shy five year old boy who lives in an apartment.
His sister, Nora is never shy. Teddy gets invited to Bryan’s
birthday party but Teddy doesn’t want to go. His mom
forces him to go and he ends up being the only other guest.
After that, his mom goes to a wedding. His grandma and
grandpa visit for two nights. Teddy and Nora didn’t like the
breakfast their grandparents made and they were bored.
When his mom came back, Teddy had to baby sit his
neighbor Anita’s cat, Cassandra. He would get paid money.
Cassandra makes a big mess but Teddy washes the mess up
with his cape. One day Teddy was very anxious to get a pet.
When he and his mom were driving, Teddy saw a pet shop
and they went in. Teddy spotted the perfect pet and they
bought him. The pet was a turtle and Teddy named him Mr.
Hush because he was so quiet. The next day, his substitute
teacher said they were going to take a long walk because it
was a beautiful day. When they were halfway done, Jerry
the fruit store keeper was blocking their way. Teddy saw
fruit that looked like tiny oranges. Jerry said they were called
kumquats. Teddy’s apartment was right across the street
from Jerry’s store, so they went into his apartment. When
they went into the elevator, it got stuck. There was a red
button that Teddy always wanted to push, and he finally got
to push it. When they all got to Teddy’s room, they ate
cookies and milk. The next day at school, Teddy was so
happy that he put his cape in the dress-up box.
Once a great leader of the United States, transcending past those before and after his time in office, the sixteenth in line of some of the world’s finest, Abraham Lincoln is a man whom people look up to and aspire to become. His face is printed on every penny and five dollar bill that circulates throughout this nation and the world. Honest Abe, as he is known by some for his great deeds of chivalry while managing a country store. Once he noticed he had taken too much change from a woman earlier in the day and instead of just pocketing the extra he closed the store and walked a great length to return the amount (Brooks). His bearded physique is one to be imprinted upon every Americans’ mind bringing thoughts of patriotism and freedom. Lincoln, in pictures is noticed to have an exceptionally long nose. At least that is how the proboscis of a sniffer on his face is portrayed in one such Snickers advertisement. Yes, Honest Abe, in order to bring business has been altered to have a nose resembling that of Pinocchio’s. This elongated snout does serve a purpose along with clever techniques that Snickers uses to attract its audience, alluring them to purchase their product. This advertisement upon analysis registers several effective strategies with the use of pathos, kairos, and the appearance and layout.
He’s being ignored on his instructions for a table. Not only does the parent of the birthday boy give him an hard time from the moment Tandolfo has arrived , he is also making it harder to find Tandolfo a table. As he gets more and more irritated with his surroundings
There are three older boys, Ralph, Jack, and Piggy, that have an effect on the group of younger boys. The Main character Ralph, changes throughout the novel because of his role of leadership and responsibility, which shapes him into a more strict but caring character as the group becomes more uncivilized and savage. At the beginning of the story, after the plane crashed on the island and the boys are accounted for, Ralph feels very free and absent. He finds a lagoon with warm water, and just like any other twelve year old boy, he goes for recreational swimming. Whizzoh!
Little Red Riding Hood, by Paul Galdone, is a children’s book that inspires and is meant to remind the audience to follow directions. It inspires the audience by combining fable characters to real world experiences such as children talking to strangers and listening to your parents and being more careful when going places you are not as familiar with. While some of the dialogue of Little Red Riding Hood, by Paul Galdone could be more in the intended audiences reading level, it's interesting storyline, visual elements, and focus on the value of following directions make this book more than worthy of inclusion on list of the “Top 100 Children’s Books”.
In writing Lincoln, David Donald set out to do two things: one, to provide an in-depth explanation of Lincoln’s decision-making process, and two, to highlight the “essential passivity of his nature” (14). Unfortunately, he succeeded in only one of these.

The turn of the 20th century sparked change throughout the United States. Theodore Roosevelt’s life was among those drastically changed. Following the assassination of President William Mckinley, Roosevelt was forced to take his position under unsavory conditions, to say the least (“Theodore Roosevelt”). Roosevelt inherited an unfinished job and a country in an uproar over Mckinley’s death. Despite the odds, Roosevelt emerged from his two terms a successful and favored president. While presidents like Abraham Lincoln, a man known for his actions, Roosevelt established a legacy through his personality and likeness. Roosevelt found success through his popularity,
Most people think of a hero as someone that is perfectly put together; however, Theodore Finch is a hero but has many faults. “All the Bright Places” by Jennifer Niven is an unusual love story between two suicial teen, Violet and Finch. Theodore Finch in “All the Bright Places” plays the unlikey role as the hero, Finch’s qualities of being adventerous, loving, and determined lead him to not only save Violet but also make Violet see the world in a new way.
Librarians, parents, and teachers have all recommended the Little House books as wholesome fare for young readers. Many readers still admire the virtues exemplified in the books. Although the social environment is different than today’s social enviroment, Laura is easy to identify with, bridging the time gap (“Little House…” 802).The consistent point of view, strong sense of security, and delicate balance of the books brings praise from all of Wilder’s fans. Readers love that Wilder is able to give a dramatic truth to a book with the restraint of harsh language (Zochert 223). “This is the truth of the Little House books: the real things” (Zochert 224).
One of a child’s most prized stuffed animals is the Teddy Bear. But, have you ever wondered where this toy originated? During Theodore Roosevelt’s presidency in 1902, Roosevelt went on a hunting trip America would never forget. Roosevelt held office as president from September 14, 1901 to March 4, 1909. He has won a Nobel Peace Prize and was awarded the Medal of Honor (The PRESIDENT). But perhaps one of the greatest honors of all, is being remembered in a way that children will cherish you. The story of Roosevelt and his bear took America by storm. The Teddy Bear was created by the story of a great hunter and two small-shop owners who will change America forever.

What kid hasn’t heard of Dr. Seuss? From “One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish” to “A person’s a person, no matter how small” to “From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere”, Dr. Seuss has filled the lives of children with whimsical stories and ideas. (8) Using casual dialect and everyday objects, he was able to spark the imagination of others. All the while, he instilled lessons into his writings. It is not a surprise that Dr. Seuss received an award for a “Lifetime of Contribution to Children’s Literature”. His work will be read and enjoyed for decades to come. All in all, no matter which Dr. Seuss story that the reader might select, his or her imagination will be sparked, and the reader will surely be entertained.
‘’ You’ll float too. You’ll FLOAT TOO!’’ That’s the last thing Georgie said to me before taking his last breath for the rest of his life. And after that, that’s all I could ever hear. A faint whisper that no one else heard Georgie say, a whisper that only I could hear. Why could I only hear it? What did Georgie mean? Was that even Georgie talking? Or was it Pennywise?
