Sovik 8 Smash Brothers 64 community, the first iteration of the series, is very respectful and wise. They play the game because they enjoy it and the people they associate themselves with. The maturity of the community shows as they were very welcoming to me when I participated in my first ever Super Smash Brothers 64 tournament. I associated myself with the 64 community a good portion of the second day. The Super Smash Brothers Melee is similar to the 64 community in many ways. Much like 64, they play to enjoy the game and the people they’re associated with and show lots of maturity and responsibility. Melee is widely considered “the breadwinner” for the general audience due to its exciting gameplay and unique player personalities. It’s more spectator …show more content…
The project itself taught me some great social skills along the way. Talking to professional players at Genesis 3 and at my local tournaments has changed my perspective on competitive Smash drastically. I used to think about just “winning” in Smash, but now I take it as an enjoyable experience to get away from any sort of drama and just be myself. Even though I’m still shy as a person, the Melee community in particular has made me feel welcomed and happy to be a part of this great community. One of the things that’s surprised me the most out of the project is the amount of unique personalities I’ve come to meet out of this project. I would’ve never guessed that talking to people over online voice chats would be so helpful. The only disappointment I can think of out of this senior project would be more time to research. I’ve never had so much fun doing a project on something I like. The project has helped me grow as a player, a person, and a competitor. I feel I’ve matured as a person throughout the project by taking my responsibilities very seriously and putting lots of time into my work log and
In addition to this, I feel that my Team building class gave me good insight into the inner workings and mechanics of how teams work. More work.
The enemies in the game were all brought from previous games, following the same style of character designs. This created the comical and cartoonish look that has come to be loved by many. This level of detail and work was put into all the other aspects of the game creating the world renowned game we have come to know of today. Super Mario 64 is thought to be one of the greatest games of all time by many fans and critics.
Considering the advantages and disadvantages of the game, anyone who has played the game would agree that it’s a good and very fun game that is very good for social functions and just for friends and family spending time
This game is aimed at age 3 and above, it draws people in by showing them an exiting scene of racing and all the things you can do, take Mario for example he is simply driving where as luigi is flying over head on a glider! The white space makes for a good way of drawing attent...
Sam Anderson starts his essay by telling us where games like Angry Birds, Farmville, Tetris, or even Fruit Ninja came from. Nintendo, one of these games was the first big release that originated in Japan and globalized very quickly. This game was only the beginning of a generation of games formed, that have transformed the lives of the American people. Anderson expresses his opinion very clearly by calling the nature of these games “stupid.” He seems to think that the modern day world
With my participation on the team, I saw that the sport not only taught how the sport was played, but life lessons as well. Every tournament we went to, my coach always told us, “Whether you win or lose, show your opponent respect and gratitude.” Because my high school was known for
The defining moment when you transition from child to adult comes in many shapes and sizes, as for me it came when i won HOSA presidency. Being part of HOSA my junior year and my senior year being my school's HOSA chapter president taught me so much , things that will be useful in the future, like leadership as well as professionalism, “walk the walk and talk the talk” one could say. Together these two skills with the help of my fellow HOSA officers and teachers we had a blast at the Health Occupations Students of America regionals, states and, nationals.
Video games have now become a social event and people are starting to play in groups and pairs. Henry Jenkins stated that “sixty percent of frequent gamers play with friends, thirty five percent play with siblings, and twenty five percent play with spouses and parents “(Jenkins, 451). Video games have become a middle ground for people to come together and enjoy each others company. In our society today, video games have brought people together through the internet. Gaming community has developed on chat sites, YouTube, and even Facebook.
I have become much more flexible in my approach in dealings with others thanks to the guidance of my Principal and Mentor. I am much more willing and open to pursue different avenues to build and maintain trusting relationships with staff. I’ve worked one-on-one and presented several teachers with new ideas and strategies for ensuring all students can meet objectives, but have different ways of demonstrating them. I’ve facilitated and worked alongside the Science Department as they rolled out a new cross-curricular project with our Math team, which required a conglomerate of teacher communication and learning
Everyone is different in their own unique ways. We are characterized by what we wear, what we look like, how we walk, and how we move. We are also characterized by our likes, dislikes, hobbies, and more. In addition to all of this, each one of us is characterized by what culture we are a part of. We represent that culture and its subcultures in unique and interesting ways. Today, I will share with you what subculture I belong to. I belong to a subculture of gaming, and I will talk about how, when, and why I participate in this culture.
Gamers are gamers regardless of where they live. There are many gamers around the world, and one of the largest gaming populations is located in Japan. Niizumi Japan has been, and continues to be, one of the largest developers and creators of both video gaming consoles and video games around the world. Japanese video games are beneficial to society and are an excellent source of employment for many in Japan. To understand how video gaming relates to Japanese culture, we need to understand more about the country of Japan.
It seems like just the other day that my brother was making me sit and listen to his boring speech about god knows what for his senior project. Now it is my turn to do the senior project and make him sit and listen to me go on and on about a whole bunch of nothing. The project seems scary but I know that staying on track and doing things on time or ahead of time will make the whole project go a lot more smoothly. Completing the senior project will also make graduating easier too.
The demanding nature of the work has given me an added sense of responsibility but also of pride, fulfilment, and greater appreciation for hard work, ultimately making me more mature and dependable.
All of this happens while they play the game — which brings up another instance of the sociality of games. Anthony, an interviewee for Khanolkar and Mclean’s (2012) observations, notes that “videogames [are] more social than watching television [with other friends] because you can interact with other people in the game and you can also talk about the game [while playing it]” (p. 71). When playing games that are designed for cooperative (co-op) play, gamers don’t need to focus on a storyline or plot. These games drive the story through short cutscenes, enabling players to have
Which was one of the biggest obstacles of my life. I found that I worked very well with others, and it made me more confident about myself. It made me feel great. I had great ideas, and I even encouraged other people to come out of their shell. I learned that life's short, and you just need to accept yourself for who you are, and live life to the fullest, as best as you can. This to me was a huge significance, because it changed my ways on how i approach certain things now. I'm not afraid of
