The Smilodon, the most recent type of saber tooth cats, went extinct about 10,000 years ago, around the time when Pangea began separating and breaking up. Sabertooth Cats did not go extinct due to lack of prey. However, around 12,000 years ago (end of the late Pleistocene) sabertooth cats, american lions, wooly mammoths and other gigantic creatures considered the “megafauna” went extinct. A die-off called the Quaternary extinction. A popular theory for the extinction is that the changing in climate during the end of the last ice age, human activity, or a combination of both killed off most large

The theory of there being an ape like beast that walks through our wilderness all started with a 16mm film in Bluff Creek, California by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin in 1967. The video displayed a tall, hairy human like figure trolling along a timber clearing walking briskly away from Patterson and Gimlin. The film ignited a craze amongst scientist and viewers to go on a conquest to prove Bigfoots existence. The 1967 film was never proven to be a hoax or real evidence and still today is a toss up.

Maybe, one time you were camping in the woods. You saw something, lurking in the woods. You saw something unlike anything you’ve ever seen before in your life. You think it looked like the legendary Bigfoot. You know, the one you watched those Animal Planet shows on. You didn’t really believe what those guys were saying. You thought those guys were just talking crazy for thinking it was real. Maybe one time, you were on the lake. You saw something that looked like a log, swimming across the lake. You thought nothing of it. You didn’t think it might have been the Loch Ness Monster. It could have been the one they have the History Channel documentaries on. Maybe you saw a coyote looking thing attacking a farmers goat. You didn’t think much of it, thought you would be crazy to think it was a supposed “Chupacabra”. Cryptid animals have been a big part in American culture, from making TV shows about them to being a cultural phenomenon.
There are many facts out there to prove that it is real, the stories themselves prove it, now it is time to convince everyone why they should believe in this furless beast. In order to prove to everyone this creature is real, stories should be told in order to persuade them. The first sightings of this creature started around 1995, when a man noticed his animals acting strange on his farm in Puerto Rico. He really didn’t understand why they were acting strange that night, although they seemed very afraid of something. The next morning he woke up to find his two goats dead, and the next couple nights he began his search for what had happened.
