The super bowl is arguably one of the best times of the year for friends and family to hangout and watch some football, especially if your team is competing in it. This year, super bowl Lll (52) was one to remember. It was against the defending champions (New England Patriots), and the well-respected Philadelphia Eagles. Emotions were high and the two teams were ready to compete in the most important game of the year. They both came off of 13-3 seasons, and both had first round byes, with few challenges to getting to the super bowl. It was now just a matter of who could beat the other team out.
The Eagles definitely were considered heavy underdogs, and the likelihood of them winning the super bowl after week 13 seemed impossible. First of
all, the Eagles hadn’t won a super bowl for close to a century and in prior seasons, it didn’t seem like anything was going to change. Fortunately, with the help of their star quarterback, Carson Wents, things started going the right direction as they played their first 12 game with only one loss. But the very next week, in a win against the Rams, Carson Wents had a season-ending injury, forcing second stream Nick Foles to take his spot for the end of the regular season and start of the Playoffs. This was a rough time for Eagle fans, and it made them a huge underdog even with their first round bye in the playoffs. The first game they played was against the defending runner-up of the Super bowl (Atlanta Falcons), and after a close game they pulled off a good win. After a blowout win against the Vikings, the next week, the Eagle were officially on their way to the Super bowl against the Patriots and star quarterback, Tom Brady. The game started good for the underdog, as they took an early two possession lead, but before anyone knew it, the Patriots bounced back to three behind by the end of the second quarter. Star quarterback Nick Foles had a fourth and goal at the Patriots one yard line, and he managed to use some trickery for a reception touch-down and ten point lead. By the end of the third quarter, the Eagles were up by seven points. When the fourth quarter started, the Eagles wasted no time for a field goal, but with five minutes left in the game, the Patriots had managed to score eleven points, taking the lead by one. Nick Foles and the team realized what they needed to do and drove down the field for a game-winner touchdown against the tough Patriots defense. The Eagles had done it. They had beaten the odds.
“The Green Bay Packers are a non-profit corporation held by the citizens of Green Bay to run it’s football team”,who I think are the best, arguably are the most storied franchise in the National Football League, were organized on Aug,11, 1919, in the dingy second-floor editorial rooms of the old Green Bay Press-Gazette building, located on Cherry Street in downtown Green Bay. Never imagining what might become of the semipro football team being formed that day, nobody documented who was there or how many were on hand. There had been no announcement of the meeting beforehand, and the Press-Gazette provided no details about it the day after.Whether a full complement of players attended or if it was simply a
America’s Team Will the real “America’s Team” please stand up? This term is widely used throughout the media when referring to the Dallas Cowboys. “America’s Team” was first coined some 40 years ago while introducing them for a feature film by the legendary sport writer Bob Ryan. In the following years, because of their success and mass media exposure they were a team that America as a nation could identify with ,so the name stuck. The Cowboys since those days has regressed into a very mediocre team who only looks for moral instead of actual Super Bowl victories.
Since 2005 the Philadelphia Eagles have saved 3 million dollars because of the environmental work they have done and 100 percent of their energy comes from reusable sources. ("Smarter Business: Greening the Games") To start off, most NFL teams have charities and donate to charities, especially the Philadelphia Eagles. Also, they help out with the environment. Teams have a special way to pick players around the league and in the draft for their team. To add to that, NFL teams and especially the Eagles keep a close eye on the player's health and how to keep them healthy. I want to start an NFL team and have the franchise based on the Philadelphia Eagles. There are many cities in the U.S. that are suitable for teams and there are a lot of things
In the past few years, the controversy over Native American and other racial sport names or mascots have become an uproar. The main sport teams that are being targeted due to controversial mascots are programs having names dealing with Native Americans. Many teams are well known programs such as the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, and the Washington Redskins. The Redskins are receiving the most heat from racial groups. According to Erik Brady of USA Today “The volatility surrounding such names has amped up in the year since Daniel Snyder, owner of Washington's NFL club, told USA TODAY Sports that he'd never change his team's name: ‘NEVER — you can use caps.’” (3). However, professional teams are not the only teams receiving negative remarks,
Do you think media coverage of the National Football League is fair? The media has been interfering with players personal life and it is not ok. Such as the incident with Johnny Manziel, Jerry Rice, and Adrian Peterson. Johnny Manziel committed domestic violence against his girl friend, Jerry Rice punched his girlfriend, and Adrian Peterson committed child abuse. In addition to those crimes there have been many more. These issues have all dealt with law breaking, and media tells the public. This is interfering with player careers, it’s putting pressure on the NFL, and also affecting many youth football leagues. The media coverage of the NFL’s problems is not fair because the NFL has bigger problems to worry about, players are leaving teams, and parents are not letting there kids play football.
Over the decades, the professional football team obtained a number of NFL championship titles such as their Super Bowl victories in 1983, 1988, and 1992. The Redskins became highly recognized and attracted a new fan base throughout the country by creating their own radio and television network in 1944 and 1950. They also stay notorious for their magnificent marching band that entertains fans in the stadium by performing the team’s fight songs such as, “Hail to the Redskins.”
On the night of Dec. 8th, 1980 – the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins were locked in a 13-13 tie with only seconds left in the 4th Quarter. What should have been an exciting finish to a close game suddenly became unimportant; as Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford struggled to find the words to broadcast the information they had just been given.
The Seattle Seahawks located in Seattle Washington, is one of the top teams in the NFL. The Seahawks were founded in 1976 and are owned by Paul Allen. The Seattle Seahawks haven't had it easy, it's been rough ride throughout the years. There have been many coaches and many players have passed through the Seattle team. There are some very special people that the Seahawks truly treasure that aren’t players or coaches out on the field. They treasure the 12th man. This allusive 12th man isnt a player out on the field, it's the fans. Even though the 12th man spirit didn't start in Seattle they are loud and proud about it. Seattle has some of the loudest fans in the league. They are so loud that they get earthquake readings at Century Link Stadium, they call the earthquake reading "Beast Mode." This season(2013-2014) they have a very tough lineup, they have "Beast Mode"aka Marshawn Lynch, Richard Sherman, Russell Wilson, Golden Tate and the amazing coach Pete Carroll. The Seattle Seahawks have been a very successful team in the 2013-2014 season. The Seahawks have a strong defense which has been a key part in their success this year. The Seahawk’s offense hasn’t been bad this year either. They have some very strong player that contribute to their success. Their offense includes: #3 quarterback Russell Wilson, #24 running back “beast mode” Marshawn Lynch, #89 wide reciever 1 Doug Baldwin and #81 wide reciever 2 Golden “Showtime” Tate. Without this strong offense and strong defense the Seahawks wouldn’t be where they are today.
According to Statistic Brain, a person cannot watch the Super Bowl in person without dropping a minimum of $800 on each ticket. As a result, these tickets remain out of the reach of many, yet this doesn't mean a fan can't see their favorite team in action. With the help of cheap NFL tickets, a person may find they can attend multiple games in a single season. It's a matter of knowing where to find NFL tickets without fees, and we can be of great help with this.
Following one’s hometown team or childhood NFL team through the regular season, playoffs, and hopefully, the Super Bowl has become a staple of today’s culture. Whether or not their favorite team makes it to the big Super Bowl game, they still find themselves cheering on one of the teams competing. This is even the case for non-football fans.... ... middle of paper ... ...
It all started in 1920 with the fourteen-league American Professional Football Association. The league broke into two competing rivals, the National Football League and the American Football League. The NFL conquered the sport until the 1960s when a new, more dominant and competitive AFL formed. Because of this new spark, many fans converted to supporting and cheering for the AFL teams (“NFL Super Bowl”). The tension grew between the two leagues, and there were many disagreements about who actually was the best team in the nation. Because Americans are born with a competitive spirit, the champions of the AFL and NFL decided to play each other for a championship game, the Super Bowl. The first Super Bowl was played on January 15, 1967, at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The Green Bay Packers took on the Kansas City Chiefs in front of almost 62,000 fans (Anderson 69). The Packers collected a victory for the NFL on the very first Super Bowl Sunday. Three years later, when each league had two Super Bowl wins under their belt, the NFL and AFL decided to join together to form one league consisting of two conferences, the NFC and AFC (Anderson 75). Even though t...

The next possession the Panthers were driving deep into Browns territory when Bradley Boddy-Calhoun intercepted Cam Newton's pass and it was Brown's ball on their 17 yard line. “The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will”. Being a football coach requires someone who can be a great communicator. This person needs to understand communication on both sides an individual can not just demand that it's a one way street where you talk and athletes listen. The career of coaching requires history of the game knowledge of the game, extensive education, and positive and negatives aspects of the game.
If you are a gambler who has secured some free bet offers, you might want to use your free bets to wager against the Eagles at home where they went 3-5 last season. The team's schedule is tough, which doesn't bode well for them to improve on last year's record. Taking everything into consideration, 7-9 looks like a ceiling in
