Recommended: Why is history important

Knowledge of the past is as still extremely useful today, in fact, it is essential. Classes such as Human Geography and World History are essential to a student's understanding of the world around them, important in teaching students to be open minded, and in some cases, can help in leading to more grateful students. As a student who had taken AP Human Geography, lessons explaining reasons of social and economic disparity across the world gave me a perspective of the world that helped me understand not only how much I have compared to other children across the world, but also showed me how little people around the world have.
