Swear to Howdy I think students should read this book because it teaches about friendship. They give you an idea on what you should do and what not to do. Friends don’t give out other people's secrets. This book teaches about friendship when Joey and Rusty meet. Both Joey and Rusty keep their secrets and do a lot of things together. They both fool around a lot. The book is really funny. While Rusty had his funny moments I thought Joey was the funniest. Joey found a giant frog and brought it to school. He let it go and it jump on everybody's head and pooped. While the book was funny it also had a serious side. One lesson that the book taught was not to play with cars. Joey and Rusty tried to pull a prank on a car. When a car came inside
was Joey’s sister. She was killed when Joey tried the prank. Students will learn that every action has a consequence. I think kids should read this book because it is funny and it has life lessons. By using humor for life lessons the book will be exciting. The book would be boring if it didn’t have any humor in it.
One of the most memorable friendships of the early 2000s is portrayed in the movie Napoleon Dynamite. When the two main characters Napoleon and Pedro meet, they become fast friends. Napoleon and Pedro stay loyal to each other throughout the entire movie, despite what others might think. This is similar to how John Steinbeck portrays friendship in his novella Of Mice and Men. The friendship between the main characters of the novella, George and Lennie, is unexpected. They choose to stand by each other regardless of society’s expectations. Through this, Steinbeck communicates the theme that a loyal friend can be a haven in a heartless world.
I think that the messages this book displays are important for anyone to think about, and apply to their lives every day.
Character- The main character Charlie is developed in many ways throughout the story. His whole demeanor changed from page one. He actually started smoking in the middle of the book. “When I light it, I didn’t cough. It actually felt soothing. I know that’s bad in a health class kind of way, but it was true.”-pg 102 His personality was different after that. He always tried to be friendly to anyone he met but if you weren’t nice to his friends he didn’t really respect them after that. His dialogue is very similar throughout the whole book. He is very friendly when he talks and tries to be polite. Charlie is trying to make friends and keep them. He succeeds with some coaching from his english teacher who Charlie calls Bill. Bill gave him books to read and graded Charlie’s reports. “He says that I have a great skill at reading and understanding language.”- pg 9-10. A’s showed on Charlie’s report card but Bill gave Charlie different grades. The books Bill gave Charlie changed his mind about a lot of things. Bill developed Charlie through the whole book.
Joey’s social relationships have also been impacted by his behavior. He has experienced social rejection and even social isolation. The other students call him Zippy due to his hyperactivity. When moved to the special education classroom, Joey befriends a boy named Harold and meets another friend, Charlie, when sent to the special education center. Making new friends with others that also have disabilities gave them something in common.
I would recommend this book to a friend because this book is a great book all around. This book has good suspense even though it might seem like a kids book.
In conclusion, there are multiple different reasons why this book should be taught in schools. We did not cover all them, in fact this paper could be turned into a book on all the reasons why everybody should read this book in schools. Many people disagree with my opinion, but it is a great example of our history and a great example of how people should treat others with
...e preceding reasons, all college students should read the book. The book will captivate the educated mind, and most importantly, will cause that mind to think and to question why things happen as they do.
My recommendation for this book would be that this book is just a fun read, nothing to serious. But yet it's a book were its easy to relate to were a lot of the situations that happen in the book happen in young teenage life as well. Like for example the desperation to fit in. kids will do most likely anything to be part of "the cool group" hopefully not take some sort of pill that will talk to you in your head. But other things like being pressured into talking drugs. Sneaking out of the house to go to some party and not coming back until the next day at dawn without getting caught. These days we do so much and our parents know so little.
In life, friendship is something that everybody needs. It allows people to function better and be more successful. Some people think that all friendships are the same and do not differ from the next. However, I believe that each friendship has its own quality that makes it different from all of the other friendships while still retaining all of the characteristics that make the relationship a friendship. Today, this essay will highlight the qualities that are the same in the friendship of Maurice and Laura from An Invisible Thread and the friendship of Lennie and George from Of Mice and Men while also identifying the differences between them as well as illustrating the very attributes that define a friendship.
The main Character in the book that I read is Mickey Bolitar. He has blue eyes, short brown hair, is six feet four inches and weighs just over two hundred pounds. He acts like a normal highschool kid and he can be very curious sometimes. When he got curious about things in the book he usually got in trouble with the police or with his uncle. Like when he was at the “Bat Lady’s” house he went inside without even knocking on the door and when he was inside, somehow the house caught on fire and burned down. The police came and had arrested him for breaking and entering. That time when he was curious he got in trouble with the police not his uncle. His personality is curious, protective, willing, friendly and nice. He was once very protective of his friend Ema when some of the mean guys of the school said “Hey ema mooo!” When he heard that he was about to explode but Ema gave him a look that said don’t. He interacts nicely with the other characters except with the people he doesn’t like and the people that are mean. Mickey was my favorite character in the book.
In this episode, Eleanor Sherman writes a children’s book after Jay Sherman gives her an idea after he finds out his mother has a lack of excitement in her life. A book character in Eleanor’s book ends up being a representation of Jay Sherman, which leads to Jay getting harassed and is called a pig most of the times.
I learned to explore different genres. From this book, I learned not to judge people by other people’s opinion about them. When I saw this book on the list, I was skeptical about reading it because I thought it would be a boring book. Shortly after, I saw a movie based on the book, and found the movie actually entertaining. I thought that if the movie could be that funny, the book could also be funny. This book is a fantastic read and a classic piece of English literature. The dialogue is very entertaining, and I got a good laugh from it. I would definitely recommend this book to other people who enjoy comedies, as it is funny and a very interesting read.
To recommend a book to someone you need to enjoy it as a person. I really enjoyed how Mark Salzman, the author of True Notebooks, put this book into his own words. He
I firmly believe that this book is highly useful for young people and should be included in the list of books compulsory for reading in the University.
I would recommend this book to everyone because it is interesting and it made me reflect about whom I am, and what I am doing with my life. It made me think about all the risk that I did not take because I was afraid of what others think. It made me realize that sometimes I need to be selfish with what I want. It gave me the pleasured to rethink about all the things that I did not say because I thought that it did not worth it. Sometimes it is difficult to understand all those things without being close to death. This book teaches me how can I be happy and be crazy because sometimes what we really thing is insane could be the most normal thing for others. It thought me to not be like everyone else if not to be different because that is only thing that could make us happy.
