Did you know what 13 percentages of the immigrants live in the United States? It is approximately 41.3 million immigrants over the total population of 316.1 million, which is a lot (migration policy). These are the people who move from different-different countries for their better life. On the other hand, these are the people struggled most because they were treated as an outsider. So for this reason Beau Sia complained in the poem, “Conquered, Colonized, Colonialized” “Too late to run now! You gave us visas to do what you thought was beneath you.” By this quote author want to tell us that the only reason we got visas in this country because they want to make us their slaves and over rule us. As we have seen many times citizens treated immigrants as an outsider because they come over the world. Also for this reason immigrants face many problems relating to like wages, injustice and inequality, etc. For example, here is a quote “Your ikea prices fucked our minimum wages” (Sia). Basically, in this quote the author is telling that’s the high price of Ikea store is very hard to afford for immigrants because of their minimum wages, which is so true to me because in my past quarter I took a women’s history class where I read an article, which says all other women’s get five cents less than white women’s because of immigrant discrimination. Another quote from Beau, “Your children are too spoiled to stop the “Immigration problem””. We all need to realize that as long we live in one country we all should have the same rights and values. But still, in many regions we have seen that citizen’s think that immigrants are their competitors, whether it’s related to work, study, business, or political, etc. It happens because citizen thinks that immigrants are taking advantage of their country by taking their place. So to defend his idea Beau Sia said, “Until our children stop being seen as the enemy”(Sia). By this quote author tells that until the citizen see immigrants’ children as an enemy, things will not going to be changed. For example, many times we have heard that school students have fought because a group of students tease an immigrant student by saying terrorist and provoke him or her to do something wrong. So hearing and seeing this type of crappy news peoples are losing their trust on others and creating distance between races.
