Different ways to become a successful personal trainer There are many possibilities to becoming a successful personal trainer in which a trainer will have to take many steps to become one of the best. Being a leader, nutrition, exercising, making a living, appearance, providing free workout sessions, staying focused, and asking questions are some of the things to become a successful personal trainer. There are negative ways personal trainers need to avoid if they are to become successful such as not knowing what clients know, no education, no goals, not being a leader, lack of motivation, and many more. Being a leader is not as easy as it may seem. “Leading someone to fitness means using what they care about to foster an internal drive …show more content…
“The best in the gym, the best in the area, the best in Long Island. I went to seminars, read anything I could and asked questions constantly. I also surrounded myself with a group of trainers who felt similarly” (Romaniello Par.4). Trainers should want to become the most educated and most knowledgeable in the gym. If one trainer can ask another trainer for advice then that trainer looks very educated and makes that trainer a go to person if anyone has questions. The more people know a trainer the more they will ask them questions and want to be around them. Good business will come to any trainer who works to become the best. Trainers don’t have to start with the best business but if they work to become the best then more and more clients will want the best trainer to train them. A new trainer can get people to recommend them to friends and family about how serious they are and how people will see the results they want from the trainer. New trainers can talk to other trainers that train in the same gym or strength coaches and ask and learn from them and their ways that they train to become the best trainer. A brand new personal fitness trainer has to become determined enough if they want to be the best and they will have to remain determined for the rest of their career to be the
An individual going to the gym by themselves will not motivate them on anything they do. That is why people like to have a buddy, trainer, or group with them so they can work harder, and show those persons how they can work hard and not give up. Being alone will make them give up, and stop their exercise because they think they can’t do it. In the contrary, having someone makes them compete, accomplish, work harder, and not give up on any exercise they give them. Because that person will not put an individual to rest, a trainer will make the other person sweat and be super exhausted. For example, a 12th grader went to the gym alone, and didn’t know what to do. So he started working by himself, and do easy exercises. However, he put a timer of 60 second of doing squats, but he stop half way. He stop because he thought he could not finish. Because he puts in his mind that he can not finish. In the contrary, if he had a trainer or a group of friends, those persons will eventually make him go, and not stop in something that he can’t do. Because he is being pushed by someone else, and that someone else makes sure for that person no to give up, and to keep going. That person makes sure he knows that he is capable of doing
Most of the time, my heart is what leads me in the direction that I’m going and it can get the best of me, as it does with anyone. That passion, the fuel to the fire, the drive to succeed; to put forth my best work is to push the limits and to pour my heart into what I’m going after. I don’t need other to push me for me to be active; I’m proactive and drive myself to be better than I was and to stand out from the crowd. To have a personal drive that pushes me to go past the bare minimum is what makes me stand out from the
When people realize that maybe they are starting to become more overweight or gain a few pounds they may ask themselves, “Whatever I’m fine” or they might say, “Maybe I should start going to gym and exercise”. Those same people then go find a gym near their home, sign up for a gym membership, and maybe go for about a week. Then probably just quit after trying for a month. In the article “Why Exercise Won’t Make You Thin” published in Time Magazine on August 09, 2009 by John Cloud shows that exercise is not really needed. In this article Cloud describes to his readers his personal experience going to the gym and exercising. He believes that exercise is not worth the time and that it does not help people lose weight; it actually makes them gain weight and struggle even more. In the article Cloud connects with readers that either do not work out, or had the thought about working out. He
1.) Versatility-- A good dog trainer will use techniques and training styles which are compatible with your dog's temperament. Every dog is different, and some dogs respond better to certain approaches. What works for a Rottweiler won't necessarily work for a Poodle.
Perseverance, dedication, and discipline, these are the qualities that have been instilled in me throughout my training. My sport requires failing repeatedly until consistency is found in perfection. Therefore, perseverance proved crucial as I attempted skill progressions and difficult routines. Dedication was essential whenever I watched others miss practice for social events. I didn’t recognize the immediate benefits of my deep rooted commitment until months and years later; now I have applied this devotion to every aspect of my life.
Personal training is not just about showing a client how to do an exercise it focuses on much more. In this business, we focus on making sure that the clients meet their goals, we are capable of helping with goals from weight loss, gaining
Therefore, individual motivation is main motivators to engagement (Tulloch et al, 2013; Lascar et al, 2014). Korkiakangas et al (2009) claim internal motivation is more beneficial in ensuring compliance to health interventions in comparison to external motivation. A well- motivated learning experience may alter individual lifestyle and behaviour; however, Casey et al (2010) emphasised that the importance of motivation in exercise intervention requires will-power. Furthermore, the motives for physical activity include social and psychological motives. Social motives include a convivial atmosphere such as respect and support from others while psychological motives include positive body image, promotion of health benefits and improved sense of well-being (Korkiakangas et al, 2010). However, Korkiakangas et al (2009) systematic review highlighted that regular counselling is essential in order to promote physical activity among diabetes
Trainers function as educational resources whether it be to formal groups or organizations, they present information or instruction, serve as panelists, conduct public meetings or facilitate learning workshops. In the intent to provide effective and adequate information on the subject matter (Dubois & Krogsrud-Miley, 2014).
Some would agree that the field of Athletic Training has not changed over the past hundreds years while others would say that it has changed over time. People have said that it has changed over time because we have more studies, and technology is more advanced than what it was now from in the past years. “Athletic Trainers (ATs) are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians” (Hofstra University, n.d). “The services provided by ATs comprise prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions” (Hofstra University, n.d). Athletic trainers are the first to arrive and the last to leave at most practices and games. They are responsible for making sure the athletes receive the care they need in order to perform at their best. To be a certified trainer, you must have a degree from an accredited institution with an athletic curriculum. The courses you would have to take should include areas such as first aid, injury prevention, human anatomy, physiology, nutrition, physical therapy, illness and prevention, and emergency care. Once you obtain a degree, you must also pass a comprehensive test administered by the Board of Certification. If certification is granted, you must continue to meet ongoing educational requirements to maintain your certification.
I have been able to relate the material I learned in my previous classes to the real world scenarios while working with actual clients. Observing how the instructors carefully and effectively supervise all individuals in a group class session, has helped me be aware of how much skill it takes to be a strength and conditioning coach. Mr. Shaffer, strength and conditioning coach, is able to spot any bad technique from different individuals as quick as possible. He is always alert and extremely observant of what each individual is doing and corrects any mistakes before advancing to the next level. I find that this is an good quality because he is able to manage any risk of injury. Through my regular routine I have been able to pick up on such sues and skills that I would have missed if I had shadowed my supervisor for just a few days. I am also able to see how my supervisor is able to adjust workout due to the changing weather how he is able to a close community among members by making Crossfit a desirable environment. He recently had members dress up in Halloween costumes for a week during their workout in celebration of Halloween. This made for a fun and enjoyable

Education and knowledge skills for a personal trainer, "one need not have any specific education or professional training to assume the role of a personal trainer", (ethics&behavior, 1996)."A number of professional bodies including the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Council of Exercise, the Institute for Aerobics Research, and the National Academy of Sports Medicine have made significant
As long as sports have been around, so have athletic trainers. But since around 1990, the need for athletic trainers has greatly increased. More people are participating in sports nowadays and these people are all aware of the injuries they can receive. Whether that person be in the pro’s or just an amatuer everyday player, they would like to be able to know that they have someone to keep them healthy and prevent them from injury. It is an athletic trainers jobs to make sure these athletes can continue to play whatever sport they play for as long as possible. In order to do this, Athletic Trainers need to be certified and have a certain level of expertise and skills so they can be the best they can be. Before they can go through the certification process, one, “must graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) program” (Athletic Trainer). Then the certification process begins. One must pass The independent Board of Certification Inc. (BOC) exam and also must learn and follow the standards and disciplinary process of the BOC. An athletic trainer also needs a bachelor's degree or higher. If the trainer wants to go into a school setting, they may need to take on some teaching responsibilities and may have to get certified as a teacher as well if they would like to teach the concept of athletic training. But one does not have to go into a school setting because there are many
Exercising is a popular activity for people around the world, but many people exercise indoors when they should be going outdoors for added benefits. Exercising outdoors can make people more committed to a workout program than an indoor workout plan, and their motivation levels increase (Lacharite-Lemieux, Brunelle, & Dionne, 2015). Working out outdoors will improve a person’s overall psychological (mental) health, more so than normally exercising, which already has psychological and physiological benefits (Hug, Hartig, Hansmann, Seeland, & Hornung, 2009). Obesity rates in America are high and getting people to stick to an exercise program would help fight unhealthy obesity (Gladwell, Brown, Wood, Sandercock, & Barton, 2013). Finally, if a
