Almost everyone grows up being taught that money is everything and are pushed to work hard and become wealthy. Society views success as the gaining of prosperity and wealth. The american dream is to have nice cars, big houses, yachts, and everything nice. The image depicted on Social media is being rich and owning expensive items is the key to happiness. Nowadays, everyone's placement in the world depends on his or her social status and wealth. Celebrities on the media portray success as earning an excessive amount of money and they show off all of the expensive items they own. They post photos presenting a happy and positive life online, but who knows if that happiness is real or if they just want people to think they are happy being rich. Not everyone needs money to be successful. For someone to realize that success is not wishing for material items but is living a content life with healthy and loving relationships is important. It is understanding that money does benefit in some circumstances, however, having too much can be stressful and overwhelming. Many assume money will deliver them happiness, but they need to figure out that it is not. Money provides stress, overwhelmed, and could cause someone to take advantage of all of the money. When obtaining wealth, many people tend to go overboard or take advantage of it. They become cocky and brag about it like many celebrities do on social media. Others believe conditions besides being rich are far more important. Those people attain these certain conditions like joy and they fulfill their own goals which creates a more satisfying life. It is necessary for everyone to do what they love to do instead of doing something they despise doing just for the money. Doing and achieving what one loves is what will make you successful. “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Getting into a good college would make me feel a sense of fulfillment, like all the hard work I have put in has finally paid off.
