Doing well in school, doing an extracurricular activity, getting into college, getting a job, starting a family. These are all things that a majority of our society perceives as success. That’s about it. However, I feel that saying that is the only definition for success is wrong. To put it simply, the clear definition of success is what makes one happy in life. Success is a word that can be defined differently by everybody. To some it is like I said earlier. Getting a job, starting a family, etc. and that is simply what makes them happy. However, to many success is much different than those goals. For example, to me success is getting a nice paying job and cruising through life always prepared to see where it takes me. Nothing too astounding. …show more content…
From goals that people want to accomplish, to minor victories, to even little things like finding a dollar. These are all different ranges of success. It should also be noted that one’s failure could be another’s success. An example being, how previously mentioned winning a soccer game. With two competing sides needed in a soccer game, there must be a victor and a loser. Now one could say that the side that won the game succeeded, but if anyone even the losing team were happy playing the game and happy about the game or about the result then it would be considered a success on whoevers part. As long as one enjoys themselves whether they win or lose and are happy, they can consider whatever they were aiming for a success. With many different types of success it is easy to get it confused with something that isn’t a …show more content…
Despite that many who obtain this life feel very empty inside, never really knowing what true happiness is and that money can’t buy everything in the world. They go through countless and countless amounts of dollars and never really get a taste of true success. Another case, where success can be misinterpreted is when someone sacrifices something they actually care about for a desire they have at the moment. You see this all the time in the media. Like how when two friends from childhood start up something together and then one of the two begin to become warped by some pay off and they begin to separate themselves from someone who made them happy. They give into those desires and feel as if they have succeeded but slowly they begin to realize otherwise. Success is something that can be measured from big to large. A victory in a game, the type of life that someone sets out to be, finding something like a bottle cap if you collect them. All these little that make someone happy in life can be considered success. They found or did something that improved their attitude and them. That is what true success is and that’s what everyone tries to truly succeed In order to succeed they should pursue
Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.
Success is within the mind of the individual. A large portion of ones life is spent working to become successful. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. But success takes many different forms. Different people have different interpretations of what success means to them. For some, success is measured by social status and wealth; for others success is determined only by the amount of happiness one feels.
Successful is a simple word, however, the meaning of this word changes quite often. Each person has a different definition of success and that definition can change depending on the situation. Bob Dylan once wrote, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” This a very broad definition of success and should not be used. The definition of success should be “the pursued goals have been adequately accomplished.”
'One has achieved success who has lived well and laughed often.'; This quote seems to sum up what is meant by success. If you are able to laugh often and much then you have definitely achieved happiness. The idea of living well, though, is a very broad statement. In order, then, to define success in relation to this statement, we must first define what it means to live well. There are three levels of success, in my opinion: societal success, personal success, and academic or professional success. If someone can achieve all of these three levels of success, they are someone who has lived well.
Success only truly comes with being happy. Happiness and success are the accomplices of one another. Someone cannot have accompanies without the other. Happiness brings success, and success brings even more happiness. Success, in the dictionary, is defined as the achievement of something desired planned or attempted. Therefore, success cannot be judged by anyone than oneself. It is a personal thing. It is the realization of goals, desires or plans made by one 's self. It is not measurable and yet is something we always use to compare others or appraise someone 's worth. Success, in one form or another, is something that someone should always be striving for. For some people it is something they will do subconsciously, and for others it will be something they will constantly labor for. Because success is something that is different for everyone, it is best that they measure their personal success by their sense of self worth instead of others. To have succeeded is to have lived, as someone wanted; ' it is to have lived well and laughed
The true definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Although, many people have different perceptions of success. Success is judged by the individuals themselves. Success can be defined in many ways including: wealth, happiness, fame, etc. Success can be anything from material goods to concepts. It all depends on your concept and how you achieve your goals. You have to have persistence within yourself. Varying on your profession, you will need a certain skill level. Your definition of success can be suitable best for you, but not for others. It is about truly not giving up, reaching your full potential, and self-fulfillment.
Success is something we all want. Whether it is achieved or not is up to ourselves. Success is interpreted in many different ways though. The way one person interprets success may be way different than another person's. Most people would think being famous makes you successful.
Success means to accomplish something you want in life. Every person wants to be successful in life, yet, everyone interprets the success in a different way. For some people, success means a lot of money, for others is to have a family. As long as a person feels happy about their accomplishments, and dreams, then this could be considerate a success. People would consider that someone had achieved success is when someone graduates from college, received a promotion that they always sought, or have social status and wealth.
It can also mean life goal between two partners. It can also mean that people that have too much money and just spend it on plain and stupid item like a $1000 titanium iPhone case that is just overkill. Or even a new bag you just bought for your girlfriend. But with all the money you spend this doesn’t prove you are successful in life at all. People spend their money to be flashy and look rich but that at all mean doesn't prove you are successful in life.
Success is something everyone is capable of; you just have to do your best when your best is required. Succeeding in anything you do is addictive, once you have that feeling; you want it again and again. Once that success turns into failure, your success becomes even greater when it is accomplished. Success provides us with confidence in ourselves and makes us feel proud and happy of our achievements. People who are successful are very visible, they are notice by everyone and so are their achievements.
The definition of success is different in the minds of every individual on this planet. Some believe success is fame and fortune, while others believe success is peace and happiness. Whatever the definition may be, everyone strives to obtain their definition of success. Success and perfection are encoded in our DNA, and has been prevalent in our various cultures since the beginning of human history. This is pronounced when looking back at societies like Rome, or time periods like the Renaissance, where success and perfection was viewed together as one rather than separate. My definition of success is a combination between fame and fortune and peace and happiness. I like to have balance in my life, and too much fame, fortune, peace, and happiness,
Success may be defined in many ways by many people. According to Oxford English Dictionary, it is, “the prosperous achievement of something attempted.”(“Success”). That is, if one achieve his/her desire or goals, it would be considered as his/her success. But it is true that the definition and explanation varies according to the eye of beholder. Generally, Success means fulfilling the goals that you set for your life. For some, success may be money, big house and a luxury car. However, for others, success may be the happiness they feel after achieving their goal. I personally feel, success is not what is accomplished, but what is felt from
Success, by definition, it means to achieve a goal or purpose. To some, success might be popularity, or even getting a raise at their job; but to me, success is more about how you live. At first this statement might confuse a person, but then if one digs deeper into this response they’ll find something greater. This “something greater” is certainly not anything materialistic, rather someone’s spiritual faith and their happiness in what they do.
Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well.
Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
