While growing up, I have often been told to be successful at what I do. Success is what drives human beings to achieve greatness. But what does it mean to be successful? Many people would say that being successful is being good at a task, but success can mean something different to everybody. To me, being successful is loving what I do, staying positive even if failing at first, and feeling a sense of pride or accomplishment when finished. “Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.” This quote by Herman Cain, an author and radio host, which properly explains how I view success. It is my mom that distilled in me from a very young age that being successful means to love what I do, and she has encouraged me to always do so. She has always told me that if something is not necessary and I do not enjoy it, not to do it. Even if it is just to stop reading an unenjoyable book or a future career choice.

Perseverance is the next step after failure, and has been said to be the power key to success. Perseverance is an attitude of persisting an idea to achieve success, in spite of facing many obstructions or failures. My mom also taught me to persevere and try again if I am ever unsuccessful. When I was really young, and was learning how to do a new task like tie my shoes, my mom would not assist me after she knew that I knew the proper way to tie my shoes. She would make me sit on the floor and start to tie my shoes about half an hour before we had to leave to go somewhere. She would encourage me and not rush me until I finally got my shoes tied. It took me some time to learn and tie my shoes well, but eventually I did. Now I know the value of perseverance when it comes to success in life. When people persevere and work harder for their success, they usually have a larger sense of pride or accomplishment when they do
Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.
My philosophy of success, is me growing into the person I want to become and being comfortable with the choices I decide to make in life. Success is not something I can achieve overnight, it’s something I must plan for then proceed to working hard for it as well. Without hard work, there isn’t anything successful about the job I want to get done or the job I wish to get done. Doing anything without hard work and dedication, and expecting the best outcome is not success; it’s mediocrity. Being mediocre/ will only allow me or anyone else to have a ‘Victim’s Mindset.’
Success is not earning a fat juicy check at the end of each month, or being a part of a large social group filled with fraudulent people that appear as familiar faces. But it is a person discovering him or herself after they had been lost and establishing a sense of purpose that makes them fills them with a warm glowing sense of accomplishment. Success does not have one transparent definition, it has various meanings depending on what success means to the individual trying to achieve it. Success is surviving.
Hoosiers once said " If you put your effort and concentration into playing to your own potential, to be the best that you can be. . . in my book we are going to be winners". This quotation is relevant to the question of What does success mean to me? I believe success is about learning what you are capable of to achieve your full potential being successful in your life. For you have a better understanding, I will explain success is about being achievable in your own way and being able to see yourself grow in your personal life and perspective of how you see yourself becoming successful. Success is not only about the choices you make to become successful, but about how you approach the way to become successful.
The definition of success can be different for everyone based on how they percieve the term. To me, success is doing all you can do to try to come out on top. A scenario of this would be during a basketball match, your team is down by 12 points, everyone is running the fastest they can, shooting as accurate as they can, and supporting one another
To many people, success means the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. But what it really means is more than just that; is having a beautiful and amazing family of two boys and one girl, and having the best wife. Also, success means reaching my goals or dreams, like starting my new manufacturing and insurance business and keep working hard because in order to reach things I must be ready to fall and rise up. But like I said, to obtain where I want to be I’ll first need to finish college having my Bachelor in Accounting and start from zero. I never in my life thought that I was going to come this far because of what I lived when I was a little kid.
Success, it can be interpreted in many ways to different people. According to Google success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, for me success is that amazing feeling you obtain when you know you’ve completed something you’ve been working so hard for. Self-esteem is the main key to reaching success and is necessary to even get started on your way to triumph. Self-esteem is important because it develops problem-solving skills, makes someone feel confident enough to do anything, and also because it can make someone feel insecure enough to stop them from succeeding.
In order to truly be successful, a person must know their limits. Everything is better taken into moderation. Moderation allows a person to work hard to be successful financially, socially, and physically, along with having time to do the things they want. This is where the idealistic quote from Bob Dylan comes into play. People need to set aside time in their week to relax and have fun. This will give them a break from the seemingly unending stress that comes along with being successful. Deadlines at work, relationships that make a person question if it is even worth it anymore, and watching calories just to be in an ideal weight range. If a person gives themselves free-time to do whatever they please, they will discover happiness. After all, is success worth it if the path to being successful makes a person
Success is a term used by almost every individual person on this green and blue planet that we call Earth. Whether it is parents, college professors, teachers, bosses, co-workers, and inspirational speakers, they all apply this word to everyday life, however what does it truly mean? Success is a noun that, by definition, stands for “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.” Although this is the official definition, society has a different definition for the phrase success. Society has defined the phrase success as being wealthy, having quite a few material items, having a stable well-paying job, and a healthy family as a side bonus. There are members of society
To most of us, they say they can spot success at first glance. Generally by the car one drives or how one is dressed. Some might see it by how healthy or how happy one feels. Merriam Webster's Dictionary states that success is “the fact of getting wealth, respect, or fame.” If one where to adopt this definition of success, one might go on to living a life of materialism. This mindset is deceitful and will only reward you with short term happiness, like a drug addict searching for a quick fix. For one to be ultimately successful, one must be able to overcome hardships and possess qualities like integrity, pride and patience which no amount of money in the world could buy. These qualities will make anyone strive in most, if not all the difficult obstacles one must face in life.
The true definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Although, many people have different perceptions of success. Success is judged by the individuals themselves. Success can be defined in many ways including: wealth, happiness, fame, etc. Success can be anything from material goods to concepts. It all depends on your concept and how you achieve your goals. You have to have persistence within yourself. Varying on your profession, you will need a certain skill level. Your definition of success can be suitable best for you, but not for others. It is about truly not giving up, reaching your full potential, and self-fulfillment.
Success may be defined in many ways by many people. According to Oxford English Dictionary, it is, “the prosperous achievement of something attempted.”(“Success”). That is, if one achieve his/her desire or goals, it would be considered as his/her success. But it is true that the definition and explanation varies according to the eye of beholder. Generally, Success means fulfilling the goals that you set for your life. For some, success may be money, big house and a luxury car. However, for others, success may be the happiness they feel after achieving their goal. I personally feel, success is not what is accomplished, but what is felt from
Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well.
“The failure is the mother of success” this Chinese quote said that failure is not the end. Failure is where people learn from their mistake. People cannot be successful all the time. Indeed, there are many people who learned from their failures before being successful. Each failure that people had met is a helpful lesson and valuable experience to help them become a better person.
Success is something we all wish to achieve and even though we have different definitions of success, we all want to success in different aspects of our lives. For some success, success is attaining an education, others it's getting a good job, for others it's being wealthy, and others to start and own a business while for others it's having a family of our own and seeing our children prosper. We all have different metrics of measuring success and we all have different goals, but it is part of human instinct to want success, to want to succeed in everything we do no matter how small or big. Success gives us a feeling of development and growth, a sense of gratification that we are no longer where we used to be, but rather
