What is success? The definition of success can differ amongst many people. Some believe that having a large amount of money, owning a luxurious house, owning the latest fashion, having the current technology and cars, is the key to success. Others believe that overcoming hardships achieves a measure of accomplishments. Success, in my opinion, means seeing a goal, understanding the obstacles, creating a positive mental picture, clearing the mind of self-doubt, embracing the challenge, staying on track, and showing the world that it is not impossible to achieve anything. True success requires respect, acknowledgement, honesty, and perseverance which are all qualities that, by human nature, are indeed challenging to acquire. Success is a versatile,
personal notion. By moving towards the direction of success, ideas must be defined and personally represented. There is an admiration towards those who have accomplished much in their lives and earn a reasonable amount for doing so. For example, a teenager that works their way through college and starts their own business after graduation due to their hard work and motivation are the people that are admirable and many strive to resemble. Success could also mean understanding the potential which concludes in having a positive influence on organizations and communities. A person may seem to be successful, but dishonesty and failure can simply follow if a person has made inaccurate decisions to attain their ideal of success. It is not surprising to hear people confess about those who were very fortunate in life, but appeared to be preferably depressed. Essentially, one prevalent observation in life is that it is difficult, if not close to impossible, to be prosperous. In most cases, one can be successful in one part of life and be a total failure in another. By experiencing disappointment, anyone could understand the meaning of success. Light would not exist without darkness and success would not be sincerely accomplished without failure. However, many hope that this failure is only provisional. There must be a desire for development and dedication to achieve success. To be successful is to understand what is substantial, to identify weaknesses instead of being concealed. Furthermore, usually many people state their views of success based on what someone else’s idea of what it is to be successful. However, among all these ideas of what it is to be successful, a common idea is drawn.
Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.
Success is a simple word, with different views on how to define it. Agreeing with Brian Tracy’s saying, “Your true success in life begins only when you make the commitment to become excellent at what you do” (success.com), with past personal experience; defining success would be saying, that to become successful means to give all someone has and push through anything that gets in the way and continue working your way up to the very top, until you know that you have made it and feel extremely confident about where you are now placed. Being in an interview, being asked to define success and realizing everyone else’s view was different, defining success with knowledge and experience, is the result of defining success for myself. To become successful, optimism, creativity, self-control, emotional awareness, and sociability are all needed to help someone succeed their life goals.
Success is within the mind of the individual. A large portion of ones life is spent working to become successful. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. But success takes many different forms. Different people have different interpretations of what success means to them. For some, success is measured by social status and wealth; for others success is determined only by the amount of happiness one feels.
Successful is a simple word, however, the meaning of this word changes quite often. Each person has a different definition of success and that definition can change depending on the situation. Bob Dylan once wrote, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” This a very broad definition of success and should not be used. The definition of success should be “the pursued goals have been adequately accomplished.”
Success only truly comes with being happy. Happiness and success are the accomplices of one another. Someone cannot have accompanies without the other. Happiness brings success, and success brings even more happiness. Success, in the dictionary, is defined as the achievement of something desired planned or attempted. Therefore, success cannot be judged by anyone than oneself. It is a personal thing. It is the realization of goals, desires or plans made by one 's self. It is not measurable and yet is something we always use to compare others or appraise someone 's worth. Success, in one form or another, is something that someone should always be striving for. For some people it is something they will do subconsciously, and for others it will be something they will constantly labor for. Because success is something that is different for everyone, it is best that they measure their personal success by their sense of self worth instead of others. To have succeeded is to have lived, as someone wanted; ' it is to have lived well and laughed
Success is more than how it's defined. Success is happiness. It can be small things that are already accomplished, like having a best friend with an open friendship, where everything is comfortable to talk about, and it is normal that way. Right there is success alone, but there is so much more. Success is perseverance. It can be things that are worked for; things that are spent countless hours
What is success? Is it the process of doing a task and receiving a positive result acceptable amongst the community, or is it simply achieving ones own personal goals? Success to me can mean many things. Although I am successful in school, that does not necessarily mean I will lead a successful life.
Success for me is to fully find your purpose in life and aim for a certain goal. Success to others may mean distinctive things. People mostly say that to become successful is to work hard and you will have lots of money. Success is not handed to you on a silver platter. Success is a goal you wish to accomplish and only you can want to complete this goal.
The true definition of success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Although, many people have different perceptions of success. Success is judged by the individuals themselves. Success can be defined in many ways including: wealth, happiness, fame, etc. Success can be anything from material goods to concepts. It all depends on your concept and how you achieve your goals. You have to have persistence within yourself. Varying on your profession, you will need a certain skill level. Your definition of success can be suitable best for you, but not for others. It is about truly not giving up, reaching your full potential, and self-fulfillment.
The American Dream is a large house, expensive car, and financial freedom. For some, it includes other luxuries that they believe other people will define them by. However, another definition of success doesn’t list any of this. Success is not solely based on material goods but is rather tied to broader concepts. True success requires respect, appreciation, integrity, and patience—all of which are traits that are difficult to attain.
To me success it means a goal you set up and you accomplish in life. Success isn’t about I’m richer than you or I have more expensive things then you can afford. It’s all about did I reach my life goal or not. Did I do what I wanted to do in life before I die? Those are what I define as success but this can have a different meaning for other people.
Ever since the times of the BC era, wealth had defined success (Definition of Success). A wealthy person of those times would be looked at as a superior being, they would be someone you’d show respect for. They were successful. Although that's the definition of success back then, does it mean something different now? Like every human being, and every past structure of society, the definition evolves with time because society's’ values change. The definition of the word “success” was often considered as the achievement of wealth, but now it has become modernized to fit into today's society. Today, success is looked at as an individual doing what gives them happiness, generally doing their best, or even contributing positive actions to the world
Success is a term that’s definition varies greatly from person to person. The best way to put it, is that success is happiness and achieving the goals you set for yourself. Society chooses to view success as how much money one possesses, if one is married with kids, and how one chooses to live their life. In all reality, success is completely in your mind. Only you can decide if you are successful in life or not. Nothing anyone says can change whether you are a success or not. Just because my standard of success is riches and glory means absolutely nothing. Someone else may be happy passed out in a crack house addicted to heroin. Who are we to tell that person if they are successful or not? We do not set the goals or standards of happiness
Success is something everyone is capable of; you just have to do your best when your best is required. Succeeding in anything you do is addictive, once you have that feeling; you want it again and again. Once that success turns into failure, your success becomes even greater when it is accomplished. Success provides us with confidence in ourselves and makes us feel proud and happy of our achievements. People who are successful are very visible, they are notice by everyone and so are their achievements.
Success takes many different definitions. People have different interpretations of what success really means. For me is as simple as: living well and laughing often. The idea of living well is a very broad statement. Living well, in my opinion is getting success in personal, social and professional life. If I can achieve all of these three levels of success, I believe that I have lived well.
