Success is a social construct that is heavily debated about. Everyone is different and has a separate definition about what success is in life. We all have varied talents and expectations, so how does one define something as broad as success? It is these individual characteristics that impact each person’s definition of success. It all starts with goal setting. If concrete goals are never set, than how are accomplishments gauged. How does one determine if they have crossed the finish line if one is never drawn out? This goal setting technique is how I live my life and organized myself so I am able to reach my finish lines. …show more content…
To reiterate, my definition of success is achieving ones set goals and fulfilling their dreams. Personally, I shall measure success by the number of things I can complete and check off my list everyday. As mundane as it sounds, I live by a strict schedule that includes everything from workouts to eating times, even times to text my best friend. And it works! After breaking everything down I can clearly see what I need to accomplish daily to be able to reach my destination. The checks off the list give me an accurate description of the measure of my success each day. The daily schedule is all part of a bigger picture and I’m thrilled that that picture encompasses High Point University. My hopes/goals that I’d like to achieve whilst being at this school are, first and foremost, an education that will prepare me for the future. Second, to complete my major and thoroughly enjoy where that degree takes me. Third, I hope to make a difference and impact at least on person’s life here. Fourth, I’d like to impact this school in a positive manner. Finally, a sub goal of mine is to come out of my sheltered comfort zone and step into the light of the real world. I believe High Point can get me to where I want to go and I have high hopes that this journey I am currently starting, will be
Success can be an extremely broad subject. There is an abounding amount of different views on what the “true” definition of success is. Personally, I believe that success is finding happiness. Success is waking up in the morning and not having to worry about whether or not the bills are going to be paid this month. Success is having a job that you enjoy going to every day. Success is having friends and family who love and support you. Success does not mean that one has to be exceedingly rich or have a lakeside mansion. As long as they are happy, they have succeeded in life.
Success is not earning a fat juicy check at the end of each month, or being a part of a large social group filled with fraudulent people that appear as familiar faces. But it is a person discovering him or herself after they had been lost and establishing a sense of purpose that makes them fills them with a warm glowing sense of accomplishment. Success does not have one transparent definition, it has various meanings depending on what success means to the individual trying to achieve it. Success is surviving.
One thing that everyone wants is success. Success is something anyone can achieve, if they put their best effort into it. Success is one of the most critical elements to so many events throughout someone’s lifetime. Although it may sound so simple to obtain, it can actually be difficult. The reason that it could be complex, is the fact that there are so many components to discover success.
I have always been a straight A student, so my number one academic goal is to maintain that streak all though college. Another goal of mine is to finish my core classes early so I can have a bump free senior year. By taking Dual credit and classes throughout the summer I can reduce my workload later on in the future. A third major goal of mine is to be accepted into the Andy Dekaney National Honors Society. As an active member of the NHS I can become more outgoing and have a chance to give back to the
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
My goal is to receive only honor roll grades and participating in additional clubs and activities. When I achieve this goal by putting my mind to it, I can even see myself becoming one of the highest ranked students in my class. I am very proud of myself this semester and can say for myself that I have improved but there are some things I wish I did better. I should of worked just a little harder at getting my work done every night and instead of constantly getting distracted by the things around me, I should of focused only on study for my
Moreover, I have three short-term goals that I plan on accomplishing within the next several years. The first goal is to complete my last year in high school. I want to be among the people in my class that will walk in Constitution Hall in June 2016. Secondly, my goal is to attend Howard University. Ever since I visited the campus during my freshman year, I fell in love with the atmosphere. I felt as though I belonged in the
Success is within the mind of the individual. A large portion of ones life is spent working to become successful. People are told throughout childhood to work hard so they can grow up and make lots of money. But success takes many different forms. Different people have different interpretations of what success means to them. For some, success is measured by social status and wealth; for others success is determined only by the amount of happiness one feels.
Successful is a simple word, however, the meaning of this word changes quite often. Each person has a different definition of success and that definition can change depending on the situation. Bob Dylan once wrote, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do.” This a very broad definition of success and should not be used. The definition of success should be “the pursued goals have been adequately accomplished.”
College is the main goal of my life. It is a life dream to go to college to get a degree and get a successful job. Everything that I have done until this point is to get to college. During my senior year I plan to apply to many colleges and to take the SAT's to get into college. My GPA and SAT scores will be crucial for me to get into college. With college I will further my business career, making more successful in the field I enjoy doing.
My goals here at Colorado Christian University are important to me because I what to accomplish my degree here. I love the fact that you are a Christian school and my number one goal is to get my degree in Biblical Studies to further the gift that I have and to draw closer to God. I would like to get more knowledge of what God wants me to do with my gift and to further my education to become a pastor when I am done. There are other goals that I have such as being able to purchase my family a nice home and by also ministering to lost souls out there as well. I want to start a homeless ministry with my wife so we can do Gods will and help people draw closer to God.
The next set of goal setting importance is my personal goals with the first being to over come the obstacles associated with returning to school.
...elieve simply writing these goals out will manifest themselves and I look at where I came from to where I am now and where I can be in the future. I am very enthusiastic about advancing both in academia and career wise above all I am excited about the positive affects my journey will exsanguinate to others clients, family members, friends, and colleagues. As these people will positively affect my journey too in my point of view most things are circular and transactional. We all contribute to each other one way or another.

There can be no success without goals or targets. This is because success is relative to a set target and whether we have achieved it, or at least making steady progress towards attaining it. For you to succeed, set a goal, a measurable target that represents what you envision: that is what you want or where you see yourself in future. A goal should be measurable so as to enable you to monitor your progress and help you know whether you are on track or you have gone off.
